I usally don't fall for this tug at your heart strings crap HBO trys to pull....But you have to honestly be in this kids corner.
I just find it kinda lame that they try to use sentimental emotion to try to garner people into watching.
Definitely, i think they started doing it more after the success of the first season of The Contender.
Seems like a nice guy though, gonna watch a couple of his fights.
Sad times for the sports. we need a channel ready to pick the boxing up, it cant cost that much to air and i bet they would make a packet!
I'm pretty sure it costs a lot of money to air, mainly due to fighters and promoters asking for too much money. Greedy cunts.
Example Carl Froch asking for more money from ITV to show the Taylor fight live.
How many times must people be told that Goldenboy promotions does not influence The Ring at all. They have written many articles tearing down Delahoya after his loss to Manny and their rankings are pretty solid for the most part. Enough with conspiracy theories.
And LOL at anyone caring about Russian domination. The Cold War is over. Be serious.
Thats what you think.........

Yup, i feel the same way. also look at William Joppy and Fernando vargas there faces looked the same way .they were never the same after those fight. it should be mandatory that somebody watches the tapping of the gloves before fights.QUOTE]
It is, someone from the opponents camp watches the taping.
The card is full of potential world champions.
I hate people who complain about the lack of boxing on TV in Britain but aren't willing to pay for PPVs.
Support our fighters and they get more coverage.
Hit the nail on the head. I will definitely be buying it, its a very good card for a start and the main event is a good match up.
Who cares about politics in boxing??? what does it matter if one is a muslim and the other is a jew??? If this fight gets made and any promoter try to sell this fight from a pointless political view them boxing needs help..
Aslong as Salita isn't promoted by Don King i think we'll be alright on that front.
Anychance of this turning into a really good fight? Only seen sturm get robbed against de la hoya and sylvester on eurosport against a bum which was pretty crap. Probably gonna check it out on a live stream anyway
I think so, I don't see what's so great about Appleby either.
I'm a buzzing as you are about brook! but appleby is a very good fighter. Throws a lot of classy punches from different angles and looks to have a good chin, i'm quite optimistic about appleby.
juan manuel marquez is only starting to get the props he deserves, it was blind to it before i bought his career set on dvd but hes a quality operator with a lot of power and style.
I dont think Hatton vs Cotto would be much of a fight, Cotto would Break him.
Oscar vs Tony sounds good tho, who u got?
I don't know about cotto hatton, see how hatton gets on next month really and what floyd does with him before i could make a proper judgement
I could see tony taking de la hoya into a war but ultimately running straight through him and breaking him down and probably dedicating it to jcc at the end haha.
i just remembered this documentary when someone mentioned his brother i saw on it the discovery channel or something about 12 at night. Not even about dick ecklund particularly but about crackheads and he pops up in it, if i remember rightly it films one of mickys fights.
Can't wait for the film just hope its not done glossed over and really hollywood!
I feel i started watching boxing at an age in the sport that the title of 'heavyweight champion of the world' means alot less than it used to, so definitely p4p best.
duran - arguello definitely, would be amazing and if it happened easily a trilogy of fights in the end.
Tyson destroying junior witter would be amazingly satisfying
Really enjoyed reading this thread!
Alrite fella, what do you think of the reality boxing show the contender?
and would you of considered doing it if it was around when you were coming up in pro boxing.
