"A look at the early years of boxer "Irish" Micky Ward and his brother who helped train him before going pro in the mid '80s".

Tell me what you guys think, i think it has a chance of being a good one.
Wahlberg is not Jewish, he's a Roman Catholic. His father was Swedish and his mother Irish.
Wow, I always thought he was Jewish because of his last name.
When properly matched he was very entertaining to watch. Gatti and Ward were made for each other the 9th round in the first fight was incredible...I rather watch Mickey Ward fight Arturo Gatti any day then watch Money May or Hopkins fight....Lefty
Ward was pretty much entertaining in general. It was tough to find someone to make him dull. Other than their first fight, I liked other Gatti and Ward fights over their 2nd and 3rd fights with each other. Ward against Green, Augustus, Diaz, and Neary, Gatti against Robinson, Rodriguez, Ruelas, Manfredy, etc..
It could be a good movie. Ward may not have been the greatest of fighters, but films can just bend the truth a bit (change the WBU belt to the Ring or WBC belt or something).
I've heard stories about how ****ed up his family was. His parents and his half-brother, so that could make some good drama.

So now Pitt is attached to it? It was Matt Damon...
i just remembered this documentary when someone mentioned his brother i saw on it the discovery channel or something about 12 at night. Not even about dick ecklund particularly but about crackheads and he pops up in it, if i remember rightly it films one of mickys fights.
Can't wait for the film just hope its not done glossed over and really hollywood!
Man I wish I could get Discovery, Imiss that shit plus A&E. I can only afford 2-13 which is free so it's pretty cheap. Yeah man they follow these crackheads through Lowell. I think one was named Brenda ...she died like a year after it was filmed I read somewhere I think aids. High on Crack Street was an HBO doc along with Gang Wars which was also crazy.

I was just thinking about this shit...High on Crack Street, its easy to find. I never forget watching this shit like 10 years ago. The guy filming was surprised Good ole Dick fought SRL. Crazy doc though, even had Boo Boo the crackhead in Mickys corner. Gotta love Lowell MA. Anyone remember Gang Wars which also came out around the same time??????????
lillo brancato is up for 2nd degree murder man lol, i dont think we will be seeing him for a longg time

I really only liked the first Gatti-Ward fight that much. The 3rd fight was pretty good, but I liked a lot of other Gatti and Ward fights more.
Ward's fights with Diaz, Green, Augustus, and Neary are definitely worth watching.
yeah i seen Ward, and Diaz, and Ward and Green as well. there good, but i really liked the trilogy they would never give up and just keep on going and going, it was pretty amazing. Speaking of Gatti i have also heard he may try to have a comeback against Montreal welterweight Antonin Decarie (19-0), the Canadian and North American Boxing Organization champion, perhaps in early 2009.
