I think he felt Rigo's power and saw that Rigo could take his, and also the speed and footwork...all in that very first round. He seemed to be fighting scared in my opinion, probably something he's never felt since the early parts of the Darchinyan fight.
yeah, I was shocked when I saw him being interviewed after his comeback fight...I was like "who's this guy?" and why are they saying he was in a detention center for so long lol. And then I realized who it was haha, he looked so different with the long cornrows and full beard, completely opposite from before and he looks way better for sure, IMO.
last night's mares knockdowns kind of reminded me of marquez in that first pac fight, that could have easily been stopped on that last knockdown by some refs.
Definitely, mares looked more hurt that marquez did, but who knows? I did feel it was a quick stoppage last night, he was hurt bad but the count was only at 3 and he was the champ so...but, as mares even said, the ref is there to protect the fighters so I do respect that decision too.
I get something else:
mayweather is...
is a coward
is scared
is afraid of pacquiao
is scared of pacquiao
on the otherhand, pacquiao is...
is broke
is back
is dead
issue
the thought that pac sandbagged this to bait Floyd into a match crossed my mind after the fight...but if he did, why would he make it so close that the decision could go either way?
Styles make fights and marquez has him figured out, the problem with marquez is he's too focused on counterpunching pac, if he would turn it up a little bit he would have won...but getting more offensive would mean more openings for pac so it's a tough fight either way.
Why does he keep side stepping the question...he talks about PPV numbers, his undefeated record, "he can have the belt"...and everytime the reporter tries to get to the point, Floyd keeps interrupting and side stepping.
"they keep putting people in front of me"...but he won't even entertain the idea of fighting Pac! I don't get it.
I would have expected him to say, I'll fight Pac and beat him but he's not getting that much money now based on his last few fights. That would prove that he wants the fight.
Caballero-Molitor II. $80 on PPV. Make it happen Canada.
LOL, I'm not sure if Molitor would want that again. He hasn't really looked great in a while and he's coming off a loss (didn't see the fight though so not sure how he did)
Big fan of Katsidis but just like everyone else thinks, I think Rios will wear him down and eventually get a stoppage. Definitely would be a great fight though.
You couldn't have written a movie script better than what happened in that 10th round...
from chico's heart, the two controversial moments, Goosen telling him "you gotta F@!*'in get inside on him now!", the turn of momentum, the sudden TKO, Goosen running in to pick up Chico. Just amazing, one of the best boxing moments in my opinion.
R.I.P. Diego Chico Corrales
yeah, very risky fight. really, who is this guy? This guy could "accidentally" injure JMM (headbut cut) and really put the pac fight in jeopardy. I mean, this guy is a no-name and JMM is headed for a huge payday, the kind of payday this guy will never get.
With this type of fight though, as long as Marquez stays on his feet and doesn't get KO'd, he will win the fight.
hmmm...seems early for a "crossroads" fight (for Kirkland) but this may be it. If he loses again this early in his career I think he may be done, mentally.
LOL @ Brandon Rios...this guy's poor ego, what a tough guy...
Truth is, Pac knows who he is...I think it's kind of a combination of English comprehension and not fully paying attention since he's being asked so many questions about anything and everything....probably if someone said he worked with Margarito camp and made fun of Roach, he would totally remember...but Brandon Rios is not really on his radar or on his mind.
I'm a big fan of Roy Jones, but he seriously would not have risked being in there with any of the big punching heavyweights. Even a 3 round Tyson would have been too risky for him. He would have went to sleep.
Even though he dominated Ruiz, he did get rocked in one of the middle rounds...can't remember which one but I remember seeing it and the announcers didn't notice or mention it at all. It was a short hook right on the chin, he stumbled forward and grabbed Ruiz. He would have been in big trouble with a real dynamic puncher.
It's obviously not the money and not a business decision...
He probably doesn't have his heart or head into boxing 100% anymore. This could be the last we hear of Pavlik until he gets his personal issues sorted out :(
what a ridiculous attempt at hyping the fight.
may as well just tweet: "Victor will practice punching to the head and body, and also avoid getting punched to the head and body"
it's just a stupid piece of information...
Was a non-Bhop fan for a long time. Over the last couple years I've turned into a fan, he's good ****! That is the sweet science right there, a true scholar of the game.
I love this thread!
I've only been to one live professional boxing event, Pac Morales III, and seeing it live with a huge, loud crowd (Thomas and Mack center) is awesome. I wish I had more disposable $$$ to do this regularly.
