This would be amazing, make it happen.
You would think that Rios would have a good chance at landing his uppercuts given how Katisidis leans foward and fights with his face.
Anthony Peterson isn't a good boxer. He's an untalented brawler that has to try to box when his mediocre power doesn't get the KO. He can move and jab a bit, but anybody that knew him knew he'd get run over by Brandon Rios due to just being a lesser firepower version of Rios that would cave in.
That is a dumb comment. I'm guessing the Rios fight was your first time ever seeing Peterson and you're acting like you knew about him. He was a disciplined and skilled boxer in the amateurs. Rios just picked him apart. There's a reason why Humberto Soto wanted no part of him.
Big fan of Katsidis but just like everyone else thinks, I think Rios will wear him down and eventually get a stoppage. Definitely would be a great fight though.
I don't think Kats will fully recover from what he's been through over the last year. His brother dying and then JMM beating him. JMM may very well have taken his soul. I would like to see Kats win a world title but he won't againt Rios, who is an animal.
Rios TKO 9.
Rios should fight Vazquez and then move up in weight and chase a fight against Soto or Morales, then get a title shot. By then Khan should have moved up in weight so there should be a couple titles vacant (or all 4 titles if Khan beats Bradley or if Bradley vacates and moves up in weight).
For the sake of Katsidis health, I hope the fight doesnt happen. Kats has taken alot of punishment already. I wanna see Rios against Vazquez or maybe Demarco or even Vazquez-victim Zappavigna.
I rather see kat have his health in the future than take another fight that gets his face smashed in. The guy is incapable of fighting without taking big shots. Hopefully his camp knows what there doing with him.
I don't know if Katsidis is done. It was a bad match-up against Guerrero stylistically, but it wasn't a devastating loss. He showed the trademark grit and determination, but it was the southpaw stance that gave him issues, as it always has.
I realise the tread is probably running thin on those tyres, but I'm still on the sidelines as to where his career is at. Certainly this fight against Lozada will prove nothing.
Hate to burst the bubble: Katsidis is moving up a division and chasing Erik Morales. No plans to fight Brandon Rios. That's coming from someone in Team Katsidis.
Good news. If anyone deserves a final payday it's Kats.
