and some people are going to say ward hit him in the body when they were clearly low. who is right? well if we look at the evidence the people "crying" about low blows are right and the people defending low blows are wrong. so are low blows now legal if you like a fighter? you have no dignity left that you have to defend that just cause you like ward(for some reason i dont know why)
also the vast majority of cards had kovalev up at the time of the low blow stoppage so im not sure how he was beating the dog sh-it out of him while losing...more revisionist history. more desperation to create a story that doesnt go with reality. on the fight score app, the average of 679 scorers was 67-66 to Kovalev. the majority of ringside media scores i have seen also had kov up so once again you are making things up about a domination that didnt happen simply because you are a fanboy

nice screen shot and good timing with it to prove your point. Ward rocked Kovalev prior to the body shots. Just as in the first fight Ward was coming on stronger as the fight went on and Kovalev was starting to tire. Don't get me wrong Kova is a great fighter but Ward had him hurt and wasn't intentionally going low at that point. Kova was hunched over and Ward was going for the kill with what hurt him. What gets me is people trying to discredit the man on what should be considered a great win. He went in and did what he needed to do. Ward didn't stop the fight if anything I wish it would've went a little longer so he could've stopped Kova without any controversy. You'll see it how you want but in my eyes Kova didn't want it with Ward anymore at that point. He was a beaten man and Ward was the coming on stronger.
People are just going to deny that Ward beat the dog **** out of Kovalev and cry lowblow on this thread...
But with that being said Mayweather catches him clean to the chin stuns him and finishes him to the body.
you hit a guy low 3 times in a row and its not intentional? just bad aim? i thought this guy was a pro boxer whats the deal? and kov wasnt holding his head down or anything like that so its very suspicious that he kept hitting him low.
why was kova hunched over............low blows!!!that seems to be left out everytime someone tries to defend ward. ward was going in for the kill with what hurt kovalev...but what hurt kov was the low blows so i dont understand why you keep leaving that out. he didnt hunch over after the big right hand 30 seconds earlier. he hunched over after the low blows so im not sure if you are trying to conflate them on purpose or unknowingly. instead of blaming ward for fouling you pretend kov was hurt and quitting by ignoring why he was hunched over. strange. you dont believe fighters should be penalized for low blows is that it? you dont believe fighters should be given time after being low blowed? the ref warned ward earlier in the fight for low blows but then suddenly went quite as a mouse...
you think a fighter deserves credit for stopping a guy with low blows??? this is why fighters who win legit deserve credit. calling all wins equal discredits the fighters who do win legit. this was definitely not a legit way of winning. thats why comparing ward and crawford is a joke. one guy won by knockout, the other by a foul but lumping them in together is a diservice to crawford.
he did what he needed to do? he did not need to low blow kovalev over and over. i assure you there are other ways of winning boxing matches.
If you don't think Kovalev was broken down by Wards body work throughout the fight or on his last leg hurt at the end of the fight then I don't know what to tell you. That right hand had Kova on his bicycle. The body shots broke him down.
Ward and his team had a great gameplan, he executed, and won. Stoppage was a little early in my opinion but Kova was done. He hunched over from a legal shot and Ward threw two more shots after that. I'm done with this argument. Have a good day man.
I think running and/or swimming for long distances would help him. He'd probably shed a little muscle doing that also.
Has anyone else noticed when he's shown training he is typically running sprints???
I know sprints/intervals have been said to be advantageous but I personally don't think it's a substitute for long distance running in the sense of stamina. I think you begin to want that rest or slow down mentally. Obviously I don't know Canelos whole regimen but he seems to rely on sprints. Bodybuilding wise HIIT training is highly utilized but for a boxing fight I think it leads to stamina problems both mentally/physically. Just my opinion though from my own experience. I can do intervals all day. But running for distance or time I hate. Kinda hate running in general thats why I prefer intervals. Lol
Yeah he needs to swim or train in high elevation. To be honest Canelo needs to go back and look at tape, had he at least had the stamina for 1 or 2 rds, he wouldve won the fight. That should be motivation enough. I know its easier said than done of course, but Canelo can do it, hes young.
I think he can make a change. Obviously he'll never be a cardio machine 80+ punches a rd lol but he can definitely have better stamina to stand and trade with GGG more often. He can improve his cardio enough to win the next fight.
If Golovkin is in the ring with him, then no, it can't be fixed because Golovkin's relentless, nonstop pressure will always force Canelo Alvarez to become tired due to constantly reacting to the pressure. That is unless Golovkin heavily declines.
Canelo Alvarez's stamina was depleted due to Golovkin's pressure more than just having bad stamina himself. One can have all the stamina in the world, but if they are constantly being chased around the ring by someone who is as fearful of a puncher as Golovkin is, then even the most energetic individuals could be drained. Pressure breaks pipe and enough pressure breaks even durable pipes. Similar thing here. Enough pressure by Golovkin can make even the best conditioned boxers depleted in energy.
Put Canelo Alvarez in the ring against somebody who doesn't apply pressure the way Golovkin does, then you'll probably find that Canelo Alvarez doesn't get anywhere near as tired as he did against Golovkin.
Golovkins pressure definitely had something to do with it but man was GGG tired too. In between rds he was breathing really hard as well. High level boxing will do that too any athlete no matter how conditioned if they're getting hit, moving, throwing feints. It wasn't just one way both guys were spent.
Sprints actually work better than distance in some cases. A lot people can go long distance but they only do it at a pace that don't tax their cardio enough. Sprinting will get your hear rate to where it needs to be fast and because you're going at about 90% you don't need to do it for long periods.
Canelo won't necessary fix his stamina issues but if he incorporate more high intensity cardio workouts it might get his body used to being in that state where he won't need to take those breaks.
I think it's mental with Canelo. He feels tired so decides to conserve his energy by taking breaks. It works for him to a certain extent. However, in some fights he'll need to fight for longer periods per round.
I've heard this same thing about sprinting before but honestly I disagree. I think incorporating sprints and intervals does wonders but mentally Canelo would be better prepared running consistently for longer time or distance. I've seen him doing sprints a lot in videos. Obviously I don't know his whole regimen though.
I think it really comes down to knowing your own body. Maybe the sprints have helped him in the past and thats why he does it? Personally sprints do **** all for my stamina. Running and swimming distance help but I'm no world class athlete either lol
Lol I don't like McG but he would sleep her. A pro woman fighter probably hits as hard as an average 15yo boy.
What about Mac vs prime Ann Wolfe tho??? Hahaha
Gotta go with Pac. It'd be fun to watch. But I think Pac beats him. Speed advantage, power advantage. Loma is great don't get me wrong but prime pac was awesome.
Personally, I'll be honest I'm a big fan of Crawford. But I think Lomas debut was more impressive for one reason (Linares > Horn) with that being said, Crawford is going to be trouble for anyone at 147. Loma might have trouble with Mikey.
thurman is fighting a guy pac already beat!!!!
Huh? Double check your facts there...
OP There is an argument for it. Thurman has been really inactive and basically was allowed to hold the belt hostage. And there is the fact that we are talking about pacman who obviously earned the title of champion. Because its Pac and because Thurman hasn't fought I'm cool with it. Lol
I thought DAZN was great for the Canelo Fielding fight. A million times better than ESPN +
I used my PS4 to watch through DAZN. Im sure a laptop would do fantastic too
With ESPN + it isnt even an option. I stream from my phone to my chromecast with ESPN + and it lags. Very annoying. But DAZN is doing a lot right in my opinion. Hopefully it grows.
canelo is not chicano, he is mexican, mexicans run boxing...we mexicans are embarrassed of chicanos, embarrassed of sharing blood with them ,people like Victor Ortiz, brandon rios, robert guerrero, sergio mora, chicano trash, not real mexicans,
If Canelo runs boxing ODLH is telling him how to do it... sorry bud a Chicano is still the one signing them checks Nelos getting. Making that real money...
And most Chicanos got nothing but love for Mexican fighters. We're proud of our heritage. Don't know what this fools problem is talking that bull ****.
No Khan was using his movement to set up offense. He was throwing punches landing good shots. That's not to say Algieri wasn't in control at times. It was a good fight.
For non title fights they they can weigh in up to 1lb above the limit for that division, and no more, unless the contract states otherwise.
For title fights there is no leeway. Even 1oz over and they have 2 hrs to lose it or face a penalty.
Has this always been the case? The 1lb over in non title fights thing that is. In the past I was under the impression that you ALWAYS had to make weight. Couldn't be over whether it was a title fight or non title. The 1 lb rule thing reminds me of a UFC rule. until recent PBC fights (broner molina) I had no idea about the 1 lb over thing for boxing. Obviously if it's agreed upon in the contract it's fine but I remember guys always trying to make weight being ounces over. Maybe it was something I didn't pay attention to much in the past???
Because he's garbage, overweight and got outboxed by Abril. Doesn't accept provos fight offer. Sounds like an idiot when he talks.
Last time I checked Rios got that W. And Provo just looking for that retirement pay. That "bout riches" money.
Yea Floyd had him out on his feet in the 12th
I truly believe Floyd could've KO'd Cotto. No need to see them fight again. It'll be the same with or without Roach.
dude a face brawling mexcan ,,who by the way loses every big fight his invloved in,,,just incase ur ass forgot, hes no skilled and doesnt belong in the upper echloeon of ww fighters
Everybody gotta hate on the brown man cuz he stackin papers and I ain't talking bout citizenship... #boutriches
All i know is this would be Broners biggest payday to date, guys are willing to take a leap over the pond to get the 3rd biggest payday at WW lol & PDL is 1 of the slowest boxers I've ever witnessed & well AB didn't look to great in that fight...
AB doesn't deserve that Bout Riches payday. Rios breaks him down and gets the W.
I think a lot depends on when the rematch occurred. If it were Chinos first fight back after a long lay off and the supposed big weight gain I think Broner could beat him. Inactivity kills. If chino takes a fight before I'd favor him to beat Broner again. Broner was thoroughly dominated but had moments in their fight. But he hasn't shown me any spectacular change to say he could handle a well prepared Maidana.
Personally I think it's a great move to comeback at 172. See how Wards body reacts and make the decision to move either up or down afterwards. Good move by Ward and Hunter.
The fight in no way warranted a rematch. Pac man whooped Cotto and would have just done it again.
The only fights I want to see Cotto in now are either against GGG or Canelo. But he doesn't want another beat down.
This has got to be one of the dumbest posts I've ever seen on NSB... its so stupid i felt the need to post how fvckn dumb it is...
So instead of being a boxing fan and excited that Canelo seems willing to engage in one of the biggest fights boxing has to offer today you decide to reach on a quote to bring up some sort of made up racism in your head???
Garbage...
lmao so defensive
we all know the truth ;^)
My man just cause your in love with the mexican culture doesnt mean you have to troll on these threads. Its ok to embrace it bruh...
