2 of the best wins in 2017 have come via body KO/TKO. Mine and a lot of other boxing fans prediction(s) is/are Floyd wins by TKO/KO most likely to the body or set up with body shots. My question to you all is, do you think Mayweather will make it look easier or win in a bigger way than Crawford or Ward?
I sure hope so, and I really hope he makes McG quit.
you hit a guy low 3 times in a row and its not intentional? just bad aim? i thought this guy was a pro boxer whats the deal? and kov wasnt holding his head down or anything like that so its very suspicious that he kept hitting him low.
why was kova hunched over............low blows!!!that seems to be left out everytime someone tries to defend ward. ward was going in for the kill with what hurt kovalev...but what hurt kov was the low blows so i dont understand why you keep leaving that out. he didnt hunch over after the big right hand 30 seconds earlier. he hunched over after the low blows so im not sure if you are trying to conflate them on purpose or unknowingly. instead of blaming ward for fouling you pretend kov was hurt and quitting by ignoring why he was hunched over. strange. you dont believe fighters should be penalized for low blows is that it? you dont believe fighters should be given time after being low blowed? the ref warned ward earlier in the fight for low blows but then suddenly went quite as a mouse...
you think a fighter deserves credit for stopping a guy with low blows??? this is why fighters who win legit deserve credit. calling all wins equal discredits the fighters who do win legit. this was definitely not a legit way of winning. thats why comparing ward and crawford is a joke. one guy won by knockout, the other by a foul but lumping them in together is a diservice to crawford.
he did what he needed to do? he did not need to low blow kovalev over and over. i assure you there are other ways of winning boxing matches.
If you don't think Kovalev was broken down by Wards body work throughout the fight or on his last leg hurt at the end of the fight then I don't know what to tell you. That right hand had Kova on his bicycle. The body shots broke him down.
Ward and his team had a great gameplan, he executed, and won. Stoppage was a little early in my opinion but Kova was done. He hunched over from a legal shot and Ward threw two more shots after that. I'm done with this argument. Have a good day man.
nice screen shot and good timing with it to prove your point. Ward rocked Kovalev prior to the body shots. Just as in the first fight Ward was coming on stronger as the fight went on and Kovalev was starting to tire. Don't get me wrong Kova is a great fighter but Ward had him hurt and wasn't intentionally going low at that point. Kova was hunched over and Ward was going for the kill with what hurt him. What gets me is people trying to discredit the man on what should be considered a great win. He went in and did what he needed to do. Ward didn't stop the fight if anything I wish it would've went a little longer so he could've stopped Kova without any controversy. You'll see it how you want but in my eyes Kova didn't want it with Ward anymore at that point. He was a beaten man and Ward was the coming on stronger.

and some people are going to say ward hit him in the body when they were clearly low. who is right? well if we look at the evidence the people "crying" about low blows are right and the people defending low blows are wrong. so are low blows now legal if you like a fighter? you have no dignity left that you have to defend that just cause you like ward(for some reason i dont know why)
also the vast majority of cards had kovalev up at the time of the low blow stoppage so im not sure how he was beating the dog sh-it out of him while losing...more revisionist history. more desperation to create a story that doesnt go with reality. on the fight score app, the average of 679 scorers was 67-66 to Kovalev. the majority of ringside media scores i have seen also had kov up so once again you are making things up about a domination that didnt happen simply because you are a fanboy

People are just going to deny that Ward beat the dog **** out of Kovalev and cry lowblow on this thread...
But with that being said Mayweather catches him clean to the chin stuns him and finishes him to the body.

When it comes to defeating good fighters in the ring Mayweather has one of the best records in history in my opinion. He was a world champion at age 20 and remained a world champion his entire career, except for a brief retirement, until finally retiring at age 38. Ward and Crawford are excellent but I don't think they are even close to matching Mayweather's ring accomplishments yet. He isn't competing with them. He is way ahead of them. I have faith in Mayweather to completely dominate Conor and knock him out. I don't care if he achieves victory with head blows or body blows or both. He will get the job done in style. Mayweather isn't known for throwing low blows. If he KOs Conor with body punches they will be legal punches.
Ward just set the bar with a low blow win. A win is a win I guess but Ward got outboxed most of the rounds. Crawford didn't face someone elite, easy money to bet on Crawford. Easy money to bet on Floyd too. Besides Ward who had to do illegal blows, the other 2 are so predictable to see who wins. That's not really setting the bar high.
Setting the bar high is if Rigo were to beat Loma after coming up 2 divisions to fight him, especially by KO.
Kov was looking like a 3rd grader preparing for an earthquake drill from the 3rd round, ready to tuck and roll.
And?
Ward still didn't stop him with a body shot.

Im bout to bite yo fvckin nose off and spit it at you, put some respeck on Mayweathers name
I knocked yo ass out cold in that other thread and I would do it again so watch it
Set the bar how? Finishing a fight with a low blow and the other beating up a bum with gonorrhea? Two frauds no one cares about and it shows in their numbers. Floyd has nothing to live up to except getting knocked out cold Saturday night.

pardon? ward set the bar high by winning a premature stoppage by punching them in the bollocks? and crawford beat someone who couldnt fight back, whos only win was against shot to **** ricky burns.

I mean even if he does you can't ignore the quality of the opposition. Say what you will about Indongo today, he was the number 2 guy behind Crawford at 140 so Crawford KOing him early is impressive. And Ward beat a P4P discussed guy.
This is a pro debuting guy Floyd is fighting regardless of what he's done in MMA. So the only way Conor is an impressive W for anyone is if he looks good in his 2nd fight vs some respectable guy or he beats Floyd Saturday lol. So its gonna be kinda hard for Floyd to win easier than Ward + Crawford while it being respected due to Conor's standing in boxing.
So nah its an impossible ask for Floyd due to the caliber of opposition & what that opposition has proved in boxing vs Ward's & Crawford's opposition.
You dont think even if Floyd makes him quit itd be a great win? Conors talking all this stuff, its half a fight and hes been kicked in the head. If Floyd KO's him, thats like saying floyd hits harder than Conor kicks.
Let's get this straight right now.
There is no way Floyd can be impressive in this fight.
If he drops him like a bad habit or beats him to within an inch of his life, that's what he was SUPPOSED to do.
The ONLY impressive thing Floyd can do here is in the box office, not the ring.

Ward and Crawford set the bar high, can Mayweather do the same or better? | BoxingScene Community
