He can easily do it. He's just too diva. All that 155 diva bullshit caught up to him. When you want to be great, you have to push yourself beyond your limits to do so.
If so, how?
he just hired and S & C coach for this fight, but coditioning takes time as well as adjusting to a new weight class, hopefully we can start to see the results next year, he never had and S & C coach before so i expect some improvement...
Golovkins pressure definitely had something to do with it but man was GGG tired too. In between rds he was breathing really hard as well. High level boxing will do that too any athlete no matter how conditioned if they're getting hit, moving, throwing feints. It wasn't just one way both guys were spent.
Golovkin was more tired, relative to his own past performances. Which is understandable because the guy is now 35 years old whereas he was younger befpre. However, Golovkin was less tired relative to Canelo Alvarez. That is despite being 8 years older and past his best.
If you noticed, Golovkin's intensity when applying pressure, when attacking and when being aggressive was roughly the same in virtually every single round, from beginning to end. Thus showing greater consistency. On the other hand, Canelo Alvarez was showing far less consistency with his offense.
I think he can make a change. Obviously he'll never be a cardio machine 80+ punches a rd lol but he can definitely have better stamina to stand and trade with GGG more often. He can improve his cardio enough to win the next fight.
I think thatll be the difference in the rematch. Canelo can improve, we've already seen the best of GGG.
Yeah he needs to swim or train in high elevation. To be honest Canelo needs to go back and look at tape, had he at least had the stamina for 1 or 2 rds, he wouldve won the fight. That should be motivation enough. I know its easier said than done of course, but Canelo can do it, hes young.

If Golovkin is in the ring with him, then no, it can't be fixed because Golovkin's relentless, nonstop pressure will always force Canelo Alvarez to become tired due to constantly reacting to the pressure. That is unless Golovkin heavily declines.
Canelo Alvarez's stamina was depleted due to Golovkin's pressure more than just having bad stamina himself. One can have all the stamina in the world, but if they are constantly being chased around the ring by someone who is as fearful of a puncher as Golovkin is, then even the most energetic individuals could be drained. Pressure breaks pipe and enough pressure breaks even durable pipes. Similar thing here. Enough pressure by Golovkin can make even the best conditioned boxers depleted in energy.
Put Canelo Alvarez in the ring against somebody who doesn't apply pressure the way Golovkin does, then you'll probably find that Canelo Alvarez doesn't get anywhere near as tired as he did against Golovkin.

Canelo stamina is just genetically bad due to a series of factors.
He already have reach his maximum capability, and obviously is not enough for an high intnsity endurance sport like boxing
I've heard this same thing about sprinting before but honestly I disagree. I think incorporating sprints and intervals does wonders but mentally Canelo would be better prepared running consistently for longer time or distance. I've seen him doing sprints a lot in videos. Obviously I don't know his whole regimen though.
I think it really comes down to knowing your own body. Maybe the sprints have helped him in the past and thats why he does it? Personally sprints do **** all for my stamina. Running and swimming distance help but I'm no world class athlete either lol

Well it also depends on how far you're sprinting. Doing 100m sprints would help some but I've done varied sets of 800s, 400s, and 200s with breaks in between. When I went back to doing distance I shaved 2-3 minutes off my per mile average. I'm no athlete either but it worked for me.
Sprints actually work better than distance in some cases. A lot people can go long distance but they only do it at a pace that don't tax their cardio enough. Sprinting will get your hear rate to where it needs to be fast and because you're going at about 90% you don't need to do it for long periods.
Canelo won't necessary fix his stamina issues but if he incorporate more high intensity cardio workouts it might get his body used to being in that state where he won't need to take those breaks.
I think it's mental with Canelo. He feels tired so decides to conserve his energy by taking breaks. It works for him to a certain extent. However, in some fights he'll need to fight for longer periods per round.

He's 27 years old, been fighting professionally for practically half his life and at a high level for years. I'd say his stamina is what it is and probably isn't getting any better.
Just get him to jab more and stop throwing every punch with the intentions to kill. Could throw more jabs and straight rights and hooks that are just fast, but not loaded up.
It's crazy because I know most distance runners (like myself) HATE sprinting & most sprinters hate distance. Goes to show how much it takes to be a complete boxer.
But yeah u could be right, Canelo playing the scale probably zaps his energy quick. Right now he's young so he can do it but if he don't pick his opponents properly, his career will be short.

At his age the twice a year fights with all that rest in between does him no service. Yeah he went right back to camp after chavez and bulked up but that also served him no use.
I think running and/or swimming for long distances would help him. He'd probably shed a little muscle doing that also.
Has anyone else noticed when he's shown training he is typically running sprints???
I know sprints/intervals have been said to be advantageous but I personally don't think it's a substitute for long distance running in the sense of stamina. I think you begin to want that rest or slow down mentally. Obviously I don't know Canelos whole regimen but he seems to rely on sprints. Bodybuilding wise HIIT training is highly utilized but for a boxing fight I think it leads to stamina problems both mentally/physically. Just my opinion though from my own experience. I can do intervals all day. But running for distance or time I hate. Kinda hate running in general thats why I prefer intervals. Lol
for sure bruh.. he seems to have put more muscle since the Chavez fight & I think it is the the added muscle that tires him faster, not that he had a great stamina before..
I rewatched the fight yesterday. Canelo was dropping his arms like he just did his last set on the curl bar. Those middle rds Canelo had to choose either offense or defense and at that point defense was the easier of the 2.
EPO and other drugs.
he looked like he had needle marks in his abs, he may already be on the help as it is. Dude just has too much muscle for his size, it makes him strong and he explodes with offensive bursts and then he feels the toll of that offense.
