I want Cotto to win, but I wouldn't mind Margarito winning because perhaps he could face Martinez... and I would love for Martinez to get a big fight and then for him to just decimate Margarito. I mean... seriously... Cotto isn't going to face Martinez.
maidana because of the ortiz fight. since then, hes really done nothing impressive...well he almost had khan for a second. anyways, we'll see what hes really about against guererro.
mathysse, its hard to say hes overrated. hes a good fighter, and i think ppl view him as such. nothing special tho.
And the simple fact that they make good fights and let their hands go makes them very easy to like.
Agree with Guerrero trying to outbox and keep Maidana at the end of his jab and Maidana trying to close the gap and wear down Guerrero for a late stoppage, challenging task for both.
Maidana isn't going to win via the scorecards that much is true... if he wins he is going to KO him.
no maidana s a lil over rated on here imo
gurrero will school him and THEN..people will say he was ove rrated and give gurrero lil credit for the victory
Do you think that Guerrero is better than Kahn? Kahn didn't school him....
Do you think that Guerrero is better than Ortiz? Ortiz sure didn't school him...
Maidana isn't some roman mythical god... but he is the bigger fighter and Guerrero has been moving up several weight classes quite quickly over the years and flat out I don't think his chin is granite.
I think Ortiz more than made up for Maidana by beating Berto. I also believe people are sleeping on him against Floyd. The man is young, prime & strong. He deserves some kind of respect. Fighters usually don't come up in weight as an underdog opponent & pull out victories over high ranking guys in their weight class.
Berto isn't some high ranking guy in his weight class... he was there by default. He had a life and death struggle to get past his only real test in his career in Collazo. He had been sugar fed scraps... No one thought that Berto was an elite guy. A good fighter... yes... but in the big picture it is disengenous to say he was highly ranked compared to other fighters.
I do think he(Ortiz) made up his shortcomings with his fight vs Berto, but I don't think he has the tools to even bother Floyd. He lacks a jab and I don't think he can pressure himself to the extent that Floyd would get bothered.
I think without question Maidana is the toughest test Guerrero has faced. He is moving up quite quickly and now facing the biggest and strongest puncher he has ever faced. Maidana has also face the top of his division...Does anyone think that Guerrero has anything he has not seen from Ortiz, Kahn, or Morales? It is very unlikely that Guerrero can hurt him, but Maidana could just walk thru him and get him with his one punch power.
Crazy talk, someone like the Ghost Guerrero would give Khan some serious trouble.
We will see how he takes punches at 140 with his coming fight... he is going up the weight classes a quicker than I thought he would...
not really, just because he trains people doesnt mean HE has to be fit.
I mean I personally look like I am in better shape than him...and I am not exactly a fitness guru.
Don't get me wrong, he is great at what he does...but I think he has his inflated aura of what he brings to the table. The fighters do all the work, and whatever kinks to physical training added to his stable of boxers is marginal in the big picture in my estimation.
Tim Bradley had only one fight at 140 in almost 2 years a technical decision win over Devon Alexander, the guy has been too inactive in the Division to be ranked that high so why anybody rank him ahead of Amir Khan right now?
I am not really that impressed with his resume to tell you the truth, and I can buy into the idea that Khan is the best junior welterweight in the world.
Bradley wants a big payday without having to prove himself #1 against #1b, so Khan is number 1 by default.
Yeah... pretty much. Blame HBO and their stupid contract that they gave to Bradley for being such a little twat.
The headbutt was obviously accidental and the blow wasn't low, it was borderline and it didn't knock Judah down, he just quit.
Yeah... pretty much.
If Khan is dirty than Bradley is a beyond filthy given his rep for headbutts.
Khan was flat out better than Judah, and there wasn't anything Judah could have done to change the outcome.
hbo ran out of dates (budget). there were tons of articles about it. they're trying to stack up a solid undercard to make it worthy, not sure if it's complete though
Well HBO spent all their money on Alexander and Bradley snoozefest that no one came to see nor watched.
Fact is it is easier for a neutral fan to like Maidana than it is to like Khan... Khan just screams douchebag and Maidana personifies the boxing warrior...
He is hyped?
Um... he has had two fights... one everyone thought he lost and sucked ass, and the other was 1 st round KO... big whoopie...
No one is claiming him to be anything special.
He is a badass... Always makes good fights and speaks his mind when asked. He isn't anything special skillwise, but has the power to knockout almost everyone if they aren't careful.
Its not about that though. Its the same thing Bradley is doing now. Hes scared of losing to Khan and losing a potential payday against Pacquiao. Same way Maidana was scared of losing to Bradley and ruining his Khan payday.
Duckage.
It is the same thing Khan is doing right now. He is scared of losing to Prescott and losing a potential payday with Mayweather.
Duckage...
See what I did...lol
Fact is that no other fighter has been in three FOTY type fights like Maidana... love him or hate him... the man is must see for the boxing hardcore fan.
I honestly don't see him being a world class fighter. He is a mental midget from what we have seen. Never been remotely tested and still doubts himself. He has all the physical tools to be a great fighter, but I think someone with less skill and more heart will eventually break him down over 12 rounds. He is also not alot of fun to watch... Oh well... maybe he can change but I don't see what you see.
