Hopkins vs. Dawson is a PPV? Why?

I don't know why this would be a PPV. I know Hopkins is an all time great, and Dawson is probably the #1 challenger in the division, but PPV doesn't make sense with this one. I'm a huge Dawson supporter (I'm from Connecticut), but his popularity has never been good. I'm not sensing that this will be a greatly entertaining fight, and the undercard is not that great either. I'm very dissappointed that this will be on PPV, as not only do I not want to pay, but I don't think it's worth PPV either. Thoughts?

hbo ran out of dates (budget). there were tons of articles about it. they're trying to stack up a solid undercard to make it worthy, not sure if it's complete though Well HBO spent all their money on Alexander and Bradley snoozefest that no one came to see nor watched.

This is why people at HBO sports got fired!! IMO it was long over due hopefully the new person in charge has sense so non PPV worthy fights dont cost us fans cent$

I'd be shocked if this PPV broke 50k buys. I'm guessing it will do like 2k-7k max.

Why couldn't GBP make a deal with ESPN or a "free tv" channel to show this fight. I'm gonna buy it but man.

Another stellar PPV name from GBP, they can't show it on regular HBO now since they paid Ripley's rights to their slogan.

This PPV won't sell, unless it has a better undercard. Right now it looks weak except Holt-Garcia is fairly interesting. It's a shame because it's a pretty interesting fight and one that has been anticipated for a few years now.

I haven't been tuned in as much lately. So this is not going to be an HBO PPV? Will it be cheaper? no, it'll still be an hbo telecast, it just had something to do with dates and budgets that they decided to make it a ppv, from what i remember reading.
