The brokers(scalpers) bought a lot more tickets then they normally do. that's why its close to a sell out already. There has to be a way to get people together and fight this bullsh@t. Ticketmaster says it does not support ticket scalping, but then sells a lot of the tickets to brokers who in turn sell them for a increased price.

Yeah, I was a big fan of ortiz when he was coming up. BUT then the whole miadana thing happened and made me definitely think different of him....really did not like what I heard from him. And subsequently his next fights. He fought a bit scared..
Then the Berto fight, he changed. Mentally it seemed like he said "screw it" and just fought. I liked how he smiled when he got hurt and fought very well.. I really think he changed.
Now with the mayweather fight, I love the fight and don't know how people can hate on it. If its not pacquaio then who else does mayweather fight?
Anyways, I do see mayweather winning but think it will be competitive. I don't think mayweather hits as hard as maidana or berto(power a bit overrated), and ortiz got up from tremendous shots.

Agree. This will be one sided. Floyd knows Vic is trying too hard to push this new "persona", but I've seen him quit in the ring. This is not Vic's character to be so brash. He is probably being pushed to act like this to keep the promotion up and to make people think he actually has a chance. While Floyd is being told to tone it down a bit to make people think he is fading and that way they'll all buy the PPVs. Ortiz is a 7 to 1 underdog for a reason. Don't buy this PPV b/c then Floyd will tell Pac he wants more Rev for the fight and ***** out. Boycott this fight. Pay for the Manny fight. Then we'll watch Floyd-Pac 2012 in May. Easy as that. Anyways though, I really think it will be close to de la hoya numbers 2.4, and would not be shocked if it gets a tad higher. With canelo and morrales on the card AND the main eventer being mexican, young, and powerful. This card will do GREAT!
How come we always get to see Mayweather's PPV numbers posted by credible sources like HBO, and the cable outlets but with Pac and Arum there's always delays and BS coming only from Arum? No way did Pac/Mosley do 1.3 million buys...if it did, Showtime would have confirmed it. Instead, credible sources like Yahoo Sports and other came out and said it did more like 1.1 million...far short of what Mayweather/Mosley did.
Mayweather/Ortiz (assisted nicely by Richard Schaefer and Golden Boy) will do somewhere around 1.6 million buys and end up #2 all-time (non Heavyweight) behind Floyd/Oscar.
Pac/Marquez will do 1.0-1.2 million if the fight is on HBO and promoted as aggressively as they seem to be promoting the upcoming Floyd fight. If the fight is on Showtime the fight will probably do 800,000-1 million buys but Bob will come out and say it did a few hundred thousand more and Showtime will remain silent again...because it will fall well short of Floyd and HBO.

Great athletes CAN make good fighters, but it's not transferrable, fighting is a mentality, maybe some can cross over but very few indeed.

Boxing, number 1 thing. Being the heavyweight camp used to be a big deal. BUT NOW, those big kids, tall kids are pushed to basketball and football because of the success and the culture of the states now. Its all about football basketball and baseball now.
If some of the big football/basketball players where thrown to boxing(when they where young) more the states would have way way way more prospects and great fighters.
Overseas heavyweight boxing is still a big thing and thus the greater amount of fighters coming out there. There's no nba and nfl culture and grooming over there.
