Is the worst, gayest excuse i have ever heard.
Great "athletes" do NOT make great "fighters"
answer me this............
If Mike Tyson was born in the mid-late 80's, would he be playing NFL?
What about George Foreman? Muhammed Ali? Joe Frazier? Sonny Liston?
These guys are FIGHTERS, born and bred.
Look at Kobe Bryant, and these other nba and nfl guys, do they have the same fighting spirit as the afore-mentioned?
**** NO
Accept it Yanks, you're FIGHTERS are all either, lazy and out of shape, or just plain NOT GOOD ENOUGH
stop telling me that bloody Michael Vick or Lebron James could have beaten the Klitschko's if they were boxers.
Fact is you're fighters are either lazy, or just straight up suck.
The Klitschko brothers are Warriors, the Yanks have gone soft.
Americans have become soft. That's the real reason, who would want to train their ass off when they can be a bouncer at $15 an hour while getting endless pu$$y?
it's bullsh1t excuse really......
It is bullshit that anyone thinks those guys are the best possible that could be produced.
Seriously though which current American heavyweight even passes the eyeball test~ and you think that doesn't make a difference?
The current crop sucks but none of the guys are blue chip athletes in any manner~
A diamond is a diamond and there are no diamonds but there are plenty of that sort of athlete in America, boxing being a tough sport most would wash out but still not all would.
If Lady GaGa was a man and had decided to box, she would have been this centuarys suger ray robinson
Let me guess, where you're from the sun hasn't come out in 3 weeks, toothbrush & toothpaste are a scarce items, soccer is the only sport you guys are good at.
Are you still mad that the "Yanks" beat your country in the world cup, get over it, we have.
All the 200+ pounders in the States are not in the NFL. There are over thousands of guys taller than 6'3" playing college basketball. Add a thousand in the NBA and CBA. There are are Thousands of guys over 200 lbs. playing college, minor league and major league baseball. Most of the thousands of hockey players in the states probably weigh over 200 too.
So the idea that the thousands of American football players, college and pro that never seen boxing gym are the only reason American heavyweights are not boxing. The truth is that most inner city boxing gyms have been closed and the best way to make it here out of the city is televised team sports, thats where the money is. And boxing unfortunitely is not a big sport here now like it was 20-30 years ago. Blame the American networks, blame the people that say it is too violent. But quit throwing around that un-athletic American crap. I seen you guys play basketball. lol Stick to boxing.
these yanks are full of excuses
i shake my head at excuses
Not every "yank" has excuses. We're not dominant in boxing anymore in comparison to what we were. But there are circumstances and reasons to support why. That doesn't mean the rest of the world wouldn't have caught up any way.
I just think it takes TOO LONG to earn the BIG MONEY IN BOXING and that may turn some athletes away from Boxing, also dealing with Promoters and guys seeing what happened to guys like Mike Tyson financially may have turned a lot of athletes away and lets be honest, every fighter is not going to be come a BIG DRAW, it has only been a hand full of Cash Cows in Boxing: Ali, Tyson, Oscar, Mayweather and Pacquiao
Tommy Z is a PRIME EXAMPLE OF THAT! He would rather play in the NFL and pursue his boxing career LATER because obviously the NFL is PAYING HIM MILLIONS compared to him just jumping into boxing and not really sure how much he will be paid for certain matches and not knowing when he will get the BIG PAYDAY FIGHTS...NO TOP ATHLETE IN AMERICA is turning down the NBA or the NFL for BOXING that is no excuse...THAT IS FACTS!
I think DIRTY EVIL PROMOTERS is what pushed a lot of guys from Boxing
As for the guys in America who do Box...especially the Heavyweight Division, you can tell by looking at their bodies they don't probably work as hard or eat correctly it is DISGUSTING to see some of these FAT GUYS in the Heavyweight Division lol
Also Trainers are now doing in JUST FOR MONEY, you don't see the Boxer/Trainer "Father/Son" type of relationship like you seen back in the day with ALI and Angelo Dundee, Hagler and the The Petronelli Brothers, Lennox Lewis and Steward, guys who stayed with the same Trainer LONG TERM...WIN OR LOSE, guys today are changing trainers every chance they get
This is exactly what Im talking about.
Ya Boxing in America has decreased because basketball, football and baseball's popularity have increased, It may not be written but think about it, IMHO the top athletes in either football or basketball could compete with any current HW champ, had they had the proper training... just off body stats alone id take a trained Blake Griffin 6'10 250 or Dwight(most athletic big man ever) Howard 7'0 260 over 6'6 240 Wlad or 6'7 250 Vitali any day...
I think its difficult to determine who would or wouldn't be successful based on athletic ability alone.Heart is the biggest determining factor and no one knows who has it until they actually get in the ring.
As far as the decline in boxing's popularity....I think it has more to do with the blatant corruption, to many weight classes and titles, and its overall lack of organization. If it was run like the NFL, NBA or MLB it would be much easier to market. No unions, no benefits,no heath care, no retirement fund equals less reason to go into the sport from a business stand point. This is compounded by a faltering amateur program that is struggling to turn out top fighters not because there is no talent, but because there are less and less quality trainers today.
Some facts. Americans are great at making excuses when they aren't the best at something sports related.
usa gets bronze in the basketball worlds, "we didn't send our best players"
usa doesn't win gold in the wbc, "we didn't send our best players"
no hw fighter worth a damn, "the best hw is in the nfl"
Its absolutely disgusting. I don't see why its so hard for americans to admit that they just aren't the best at some things, sometimes.
Its that type of attitude that makes the rest of the world look at you as pompous a ssholes.
If Louie Spence wasn't a raging faagot, he'd school Mayweather. Look at that speed and footwork....
Spence would take him down in four.
He can't deal with all that.
Spence has those fast, muscle twitch fibers that only Americans have.
Funny thing is, America is about as good as England is in soccer, without even trying.
I could understand someone who is Spanish or French talking about soccer taking away great athletes, but England sucks at soccer. The only reason you won your lousy group in the WC was because the U.S. had two huge goals taken away by very blatant referee "mistakes".
Is England good at any sport? As far as I know, you suck at all of the international sports. While the U.S. is winning major competitions in basketball, ice hockey, volleyball, track and field, etc., the English are getting their asses handed to them in games they invented. And by great athletic countries like India...
One thing I know for sure... you guys suck big time in boxing.
Really? England 1 World Cup, USA 0 World Cups (and it'll stay at 0, you can count on it), so come again? And I'm spanish BTW.
Boxers are the best athletes on the planet bar none.
I've seen NFL players litterally be in tears because of a sprained ankle, imagine them trying to take punches LOL
You could argue that.
No, we have seen your rugby players. Boxing is a speed game and we have seen your lumbering giants on the gridiron. Most NFL players are quick handed and move quick, like 4.4 40 yard dash quick. They have quick twitch fibers like a Floyd Mayweather Jr. has. I can promise you those rugby players would not excel in boxing. As for soccer, yes some of the smaller dudes certainly would do well but soccer is your sport, boxing(despite you creating it) is Americas sport and one of its past time. Soccer will always get your best athletes but for a while our best either played baseball, track, or boxing. We don't like the change and have seen the effects in recent decades.
Stupidest thing iv'e ever heard and i mean ever. Rugby players, at least NRL players here in Austr make the easiest transition from their sport to boxing than any other. NRL players have nothing but quick twitch muscle fibers you donkey. The reason they make good boxers is because they have great speed and power. The fullbacks, wingers and centers have blistering speed....made all the more impressive when you consider their size and strength.
Take a man like Greg Inglis for example. He is 195cm and 114kg. He has drawn interest from NFL before as a line-backer. A brilliant athlete. Jarryd Hayne, Sonny Bill Williams.
Anthony Mundine a former top NRL player.
Give me a break son.....you should see the athleticism, speed, power and size of some NRL players here in Australia.
