Ever since Pacquiao moved to 147 and began dominating there have been fantasy matchups posted by a lot of fans and most saying Ray Leonard, Hearns, Duran would catch Pac and basically put him to sleep with ease.
Let's flip it....What if Pac caught them with his big left or counter right hook. It's not impossible because Pac isn't exactly slow with slow reflexes and he is a southpaw. It's very possible he lands his big left before they land there own shots.
Would they take it right on the chin and just keep coming...

dumb question imo. leonard had an atg chin, he took hearns' and haglers best shots so pac would be nothing by comparison. hearns had a great chin at WW, leonard beat him on accumulation. hagler and barkley were big punching MWs, barkley the biggest MW i ever seen.
i cant imagine pacquiao hurting either one, this isnt a chinny cotto or a washed up and battle worn mosley we are talking about.
:lol1: @ Rooster and his Anti-Leonard agenda.God bless him - he's been at this,on several different boxing forums, for years now.Expect to read comments like how Larry Bonds gave Leonard fits but didn't didn't have the pop of the Terry Norris to make it count.Or how Hector Camacho would always would have had Leonard's number, regardless of whether he was in his prime or not.
What kind of question is this? Can Pacquiao hurt them if he hits them clean?
LOL, dito, LOL
Its like me asking can the fighters on the 80's take a clean punch from randal bailey?
Since none of them can, that makes bailey the best right? LOL
If Pacman was fighting in the time of Prime Hearns, sugar Ray & Duran,he wouldn't have been a welterweight & he may not have even ventured into lightweight.Until Duran moved up.There wouldn't be any champ named Diaz for Pacman to walk over.I wouldn't even go that far back.A prime,Oscar,Tito,Bazooka Ike & an aging Sweet Pea would have made Floyd & Manny keep their distance.Ohh yeah & Chavez too!!Prior too.
I don't think Leonard, Duran, and even Hagler would just sit there and let Manny tag them. Let's be real, Pacquiao has enough speed and power to have hurt I'd say either Leonard or Duran (and Leonard is my all time fav). I wont go as far as to say he beats both, but could he hurt them? Absolutely.
Everyone who ever made the 147lb limit in the 80's would take 5 of Manny's best shots in a row and smile.
I think he's asking because the quality of the best 80's welters is so renowned.
It's another way of asking how Manny would fare against a Leonard or a Hearns.
In that case, they take his punch with very little bother.
If Pacqiauo lived in the 80's he probably wouldn't hold a WW title.
I said the 80s because that's a popular era in the 147 pound division. The Hearns that SRL fought who came in at 144 pounds and weight drained, it would be interesting to see what happens if Pac lands the same shot he landed on Mosley or Hatton and gets Tommy on the ropes letting his hands go. Now of course Hearns right hand could stop Manny any time.
Just saying what if Manny lands first, followed by combos when there stunned on the ropes. Tommy didn't know how to cover up back then. Ray should have stopped him in that 6th round.
Pacquiao's not a huge puncher at welterweight, so I'd say all the best welterweights of the 80s could take single shots from him. Like with everyone else he has fought, Pacquiao would need lots of punches to stop them. He could certainly hurt them with single shots though.

Could the Welterweights from the 80s take Manny Pacquiao's best shot.. | BoxingScene Community
