Predict Mayweather-Ortiz PPV #'s now that Canelo is on the undercard

1.5 million or higher. Floyd brings in about a million by himself. But with a strong Mexican cast, in a Mexican holiday raises it up a notch.

Mayweather-Ortiz will not outsell Mayweather-Mosley. Ortiz isn't even close to a household name. I'm gonna guess 1.1 - 1.2 million buys.

1.5mil -1.7mil erik morales and alvarez undercard bring about 150k buys and if ortiz catches the publics eye theyll get a **** load of ppvs and floyd being floyd catches the publics attention enyway

1 million is a huge success! People acting like a ppv getting only 1 million is a failure are nuts. That being said, will easily do 1 million with or without Alvarez. He is the biggest joke and only gets attention in this racist world because he looks white.

How come we always get to see Mayweather's PPV numbers posted by credible sources like HBO, and the cable outlets but with Pac and Arum there's always delays and BS coming only from Arum? No way did Pac/Mosley do 1.3 million buys...if it did, Showtime would have confirmed it. Instead, credible sources like Yahoo Sports and other came out and said it did more like 1.1 million...far short of what Mayweather/Mosley did. Mayweather/Ortiz (assisted nicely by Richard Schaefer and Golden Boy) will do somewhere around 1.6 million buys and end up #2 all-time (non Heavyweight) behind Floyd/Oscar. Pac/Marquez will do 1.0-1.2 million if the fight is on HBO and promoted as aggressively as they seem to be promoting the upcoming Floyd fight. If the fight is on Showtime the fight will probably do 800,000-1 million buys but Bob will come out and say it did a few hundred thousand more and Showtime will remain silent again...because it will fall well short of Floyd and HBO. my boy Floyd could generate almost 3 million by himself. with that whitebread mexican cat, they gonna breal 3.5 million ppv buys easy Hahaha, man your baised. Anyways though, I really think it will be close to de la hoya numbers 2.4, and would not be shocked if it gets a tad higher. With canelo and morrales on the card AND the main eventer being mexican, young, and powerful. This card will do GREAT!

Floyd comes back from a long 'vacation' or 'retirement' and then schedules a fight 2 months before Pacquiao? Oh yeah... Mayweather-Ortiz 1 million buys (September 2009) Pacquiao-Cotto 1.25 million buys (November 2009) Mayweather's first return was much more hyped and Marquez a much easier sell. Plus Floyd's 'rib injury' gave them a few more months of extra promotions. Pacquiao-Marquez is a lot more anticipated than Pac-Cotto and will have a much bigger platform to advertise from (CBS coverage, planned world tour, etc) not to mention Pacquiao is a much higher profile athlete now than he was then. He has at least 2 commercials playing on a loop on network tv and cable alike, top 20 billboard hit, etc. Floyd on the other hand is the laughing stock of boxing, whether his fans want to admit that or not, and Victor Ortiz after running away from Pacquiao and going on 'vacation' isn't going to wow anyone outside of his hardcore fans.
