They signed the fight and accepted the the situation and were knocked out. The only Zombie now is Davis for destroying himself.
They accepted it but that doesn’t mean they were at their best.
Hard to believe that 3 of the guys fighting tonight were knocked out by Davis. Davis could have done so much more but he really self-destructed.
Barrios and Ryan were weight drained zombies.
The usual cadre of casual fans worship this sort of performance. Jab, jab, jab, run, hold, jab, jab and call it defensive genius while usually entering the ring a full weight class or two bigger. It’s always predictable to see which fans will pretend this is entertaining. Let’s not forget these same fans were calling Teo trash before he agreed to fight Shakur. Suddenly it’s a great win. Which is it, was he trash or a great fighter? Floyd and his fans did this all the time.
The Canuck is outmatched. Baumgardner is the best women’s fighter in boxing, far better than Shields.
Haye is awful. Overrated fighter and awful announcer. This whole panel is awful. Ranallo is off his meds again and Haye is a one trick pony repeating himself and sounding lost for an original thought. Poncher is along for the ride, clueless.
He’s a boring fighter.
He’s a dirty fighter.
He’s a weight bully.
He’s overrated.
He’s a crybaby and a b1 tch.
Add sore loser to the list and in my opinion he is getting away with juicing somehow. His physique is not natural.
Canelo appears to be in top form. Crawford's power wasn't as effective at 154, not sure how he will do at 168. He walks around over 180 lbs, so maybe losing only 12 - 17 pounds won't be as draining for him. I don't think Crawford will stay in the trenches with him. It will be hit and move and try not to get hit to the body. I think Canelo gets the decision, maybe even drops Bud to the canvas for an 8-count.
Floyd never fought for or cared about legacy. He only cared about leveraging biggest payday in low risk/high reward fights. He thinks being 50-0 makes him great of all time. Delusional.
In 2017 Manny set his price at $20 million to fight Crawford. Arum must have known Crawford couldn’t draw flies and couldn’t meet Manny’s demand. He decided to cash Manny out against Horn and rig the cards.
GGG was willing to come down to 154 for Floyd, while Floyd was running his mouth saying he could easily beat Golovkin at 160. Of course Floyd rejected that offer as he did with Sergio Martinez who offered to come all the way down to 150 for Floyd. GGG would have pummeled Floyd for 12 rounds and likely still gets robbed on the scorecards like he did against Canelo in their first two fights.
golovkin most overrated in recent times
this guy was risk averse and happy to camp out in a crappy middleweight division
back in the days they'd jump up a weight or two for better opportunities and glory
golovkin was never that guy
Golovkin was a small MW. His walking around weight was 170 or less. He fought who was there. Not the greatest fighter but I think he has enough to beat Floyd. He'd walk through his punches for one thing.
Floyd never fought an elite level fighter at their best. He cherry picked his way through the divisions against slow plodders and fighters on their way up or down. He would never have taken the risk against GGG or Martinez.
What is this obsession with how much money Tank makes for his fights?
No matter what he makes, there is a segment of NSB that will say it’s a lie and lower the number without any evidence.
Whatever he actually makes, rest assured he makes more than any other boxer in that weight class.
Your boy Floyd created the obsession with how much fighters earn. That's all he talked about, posing for selfies with stacks of cash, belittling other fighters for not pulling down bigger PPV numbers, and his constant bragging that he earned more than this, that or other fighter.
There can always be arguments made for or against those on or off the list. Several on this list that would not make my list. Doesn't mean they weren't good or even great, but not in my top 25.
Manny was more successful over a longer period of time. Duran's last significant win was at age 37 against Barkley, winning the MW title. Manny at 37 beat Bradley and Vargas. At 39 Matthysse, at 40 Broner and Thurman, at 46 a draw with Barrios. Champion in 8 weight classes vs. 4 for Duran. Duran's single greatest win was a prime Leonard at 147. Manny's single greatest win is arguable...Barrera, Morales, Cotto, Thurman? Leonard is obviously greater than all of them so Duran would have the edge for single greatest win. Manny defeated 22 world champions and 7 HOFers, Duran defeated Manny would have the edge in just about every other aspect.
Duran best wins:
Buchanan
De Jesus x2
Palomino
Leonard
Cuevas
Moore
Barkley
Pacquiao best wins:
Barrera x2
Marquez x2
Morales x2
Larios
Hatton
Cotto
Clottey
Margarito
Bradley x2
Rios
Vargas
Matthysse
Broner
Thurman
Oscar was past prime but was also the favorite to win.
First draw with Marquez was scored incorrectly and should be a win for Manny. First fight with Bradley a blatant robbery on the scorecard. Horn loss also a robbery.
Duran claimed to have injured his hand around the 5th round in his fight with Hagler. Could that have made the difference in a very close fight? He was arguably robbed in the first Camacho and Pazienza fights.
With all of these stats what does that mean? In a head to head fight it's close and competitive. Much lesser fighters than Manny took Duran the distance at LW. Duran had one big win at welter and struggled to make the weight after the Leonard rematch. Too close to call IMO.
Who did better against Cotto, Hatton, Mosley, Oscar, and Margarito...oh wait Floyd ducked Margarito, never mind.
I think the better question is whether or not Floyd was using an illegal IV for the Maidana fight as well as the Pacquiao fight to mask them PEDs.
Pacquiao "best" wins:
Barrera x2 (prototypical Pac opp. Slow and not so difficult to hit)
Marquez x2 (see Barrera)
Morales x2 (questionable W's. I can't believe Pac needed 4 fights with him :lol1:)
Larios (who ?)
Hatton (....and ?)
Cotto (lite)
Clottey (....and ?)
Margarito (shot AF)
Bradley x2 (meh. Ruslan nearly killed him)
Rios (so :lol1: )
Vargas (so :lol1: )
Matthysse (so :lol1: )
Broner (you gotta be kidding :lol1: )
Thurman (that flash KD saved him)
Oscar was beyond shot
The bold, doe :lol1: !!!!!!
Duran eats them up
No need for judges :boxing:
Outside of the best opponents I named for Duran, who else did he beat that was better than Cotto, Margarito, Rios, Vargas, Broner, Larios, Hatton, Clottey??? you dismissed all of them but didn't offer any objective reasoning. It was just conjecture and borderline trolling.
If fans didn’t learn their lesson from Tyson/Paul and Floyd vs all of his exhibition opponents who either laid down for him were pathetically overmatched, they deserve to have their money suckered from them.
Crawford walks around at over 185 pounds. He was draining himself to make 147 and 154. That said, I don’t know if he can bring his power to 168. He needs to fight a tactical and smarter fight.
