A follow up from my previous thread of fights we wish happened. Quite a few got mentioned that actually got announced but didn’t happen such as:
Mosley-Judah 2008
Mosley-Berto 2010
Mayorga-Angulo 2009
Canelo-Williams 2012
Golovkin-Pirog 2012.
Any others we can think of?
Cotto-Kirkland in 2017 and Inoue-Casimero 2020 I’d add.
Good shout. I remember being disappointed when Guerrero pulled out.
Wasn’t Maidana-Thurman scheduled at one point too?
Yes it was but it was after maidana had a very bad first performance at 147 vs Alexander and Robert Garcia was hired and he basically put a stop to that, wanted an easier first fight, worked out well for maidana I'd say.
Maidana vs Guerrero
Rios vs Gamboa…gamboa completely ducked the presser and richard abril came in for him
Great shout. Gamboa-Mikey was pretty close too, ended up being Crawford vs Gamboa instead.
mosley vs judah is the first that came to mind. I like both guys.
because i had tickets and it was in my hometown...andrade vs saunders. i think that would have been a good step-up fight for both of them before getting beat up in the big leagues. good clash of styles and prince'd out pirate costumes
Yeah Andrade-Saunders was an interesting style clash too I thought. Could have been a stinker but interesting fight regardless.
I had paid for the maidana vs guerrero fight in I think 2011 but it was cancelled a week or two before, would have been entertaining for sure.

Inoue vs Casimero 2020
Andrade vs Canelo 160 unification
Benavidez vs Canelo
Charlo vs Canelo 154 unification
Prime Lomachenko vs Tank
Prime Pre elbow surgery Keith Thurman vs Bud & Spence
Prime Pre double orbital bone fracture Kell Brook vs Bud, Spence & Thurman
Fury-Ustinov - fight was cancelled due to an illness in the Fury family. I remember Fury critics saying he wouldn't take that fight.
Pacquiao-Spence
Davis-De Los Santos
Canelo-Victor Ortiz - this might be for another category? Agreed to for September, but Ortiz had to win his fight. In steps "The Riverside Rocky" Josesito Lopez to blow it all up and create that great moment. It led to a unique September where both Chavez Jr vs Sergio Martinez and Canelo v Josesito both headlined at different venues in Vegas just a couple blocks away from each other.

Povetkin vs wilder - Povetkin would've annihilated wilder
Fury vs Klitschko 2 - Klitschko said he was going to let his hands go in the rematch, could've been a dramatic fight
tank v roach II
Still miffed for Roach.
On the note of rematches, what happened to Parker vs Zhang II? I know there was a rematch clause but it just went poof. Parker is now on the cusp of being on top and Zhang got bodied by a German dude. How things change.
I would have loved for Inoue to obliterate Casimero and shut up the latter's delusional fanbase forever, but Casimero is an unprofessional clown.
Parker vs Dubois was a big one in recent memory.
Fury vs Joshua (Fight was agreed to but Wilder forced the trilogy fight)
Fury vs Haye (haye got hurt)
Trinidad vs Mosley (Tito lost to Winky so he got the fight instead)
