Margarito was an easy fight.
I was easy for Pacquiao because of his skill level but Margarito was dangerous going in and was dangerous throughout. Actually even though Manny whipped him good, it was a very tough fight for a fighter Pacquiao's size.
Pacquiao deserves one semi-easy fight after beating Margarito and Cotto. Perhaps he wishes to show he can do better than the other guy(forgot his name). The fight is not signed and admittedly I would rather see Mosley retire but Pacquiao has cleaned out the division for the first time in many years and deserves a break.
?????Baldomir was shot, he only won two of his last six and one of those was a gift decision(Perez). Hector Camacho Jr could have knocked him out, why would Alvarez need a fix?????
He ducked Casamayor for the worst LW Titlist in History and he has the galls to claim he was a 135 pound champ.
Get the fuck outta here with that shit.
When Mayweather beat Corrales HBO put pressure on Mayweather to fight Casamayor who was the WBA champ. Mayweather refused threatening to leave HBO. But Mayweather had no desire to fight a southpaw. Nothing has changed to date.
:lol1:
Mayweather ducked Joel?
Hernandez & Chavez >>>>>>>>>>> Joel
Joel >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Diaz
:bottle:
But Mayweather didn't avoid Hernandez & Chavez because they were orthodox fighters. Casamayor though not in Mayweather's class was a southpaw.
You are crazily, stupid.
List me the southpaws he was supposed to fight. Other than his hiding under a bed from Pacquiao
We've already debunked your alleged theory that he avoided Joel Casamayor - on the contrary Pacquiao avoided Joel to fight the paper-champ, joke, worst LW titlist in history, David Diaz.
Let's talk about how Pacquiao has never fought a slick African American or good African American of any style for that matter.
Lennox Lewis never fought a southpaw, sometimes certain style-match-ups never materialize.
FACT: Mayweather has fought southpaws
FACT: Pacquiao has not fought a Slick, African American.
You delusional, cunt.
I can understand your confusion newbee, you were in fifth grade through much of this. Let me explain so you can understand, just try to open you mind. First four southpaws out of 42 fights is unheard of today. But hell if Mayweather choose not to fight them and got away with it, cool. He didn't get exposed for avoiding southpaws(aside from Pacquiao really) he got exposed for taking safe and sure wins since you were in your first year of high school. And you can call me a cunt because it is he only way for you debate but remember one thing Stones, I have watched every bout on tv and read every magazine since I first got addicted to this great sport. Which yes, was before you were born. I don't attach to fighters nuts like you and attack other fighter because they are greater than my hero's.
I have developed great respect for Pacquiao, the fighter you continiously attack because he earned that respect in the ring. Something Mayweather has not done.
^^^^^All of that and you still managed to avoid my questions.
Stop being a know-it-all showoff - I know you're 50+ years old and have been watching boxing since John L Sullivan won the Heavyweight title.
Answer the questions, you fraud.
List me the southpaw fighters Mayweather was supposed to fight.
Again;
FACT: Mayweather has fought southpaws
FACT: Pacquiao has not fought a Slick, African American.
CUNT. :dunce:
Wow short time memory loss, the fist post that start you on your rampage was,
When Mayweather beat Corrales HBO put pressure on Mayweather to fight Casamayor who was the WBA champ. Mayweather refused threatening to leave HBO. But Mayweather had no desire to fight a southpaw. Nothing has changed to date.
Back when Mayweather refused to fight Casamayor, I didn't understand why so I looked up his record to see if he had a problem with southpaws, he didn't because the only one he fought in his career was like 0-7. And ever since he had only dared get in the ring with three, Corley who lost his previous bout to Judah, Mitchell who was just blown out by Tszyu and Judah who just lost his previous fight to Baldomir. Thats it! Hopkins fought over 9 in title bouts alone, as did Jones Jr. But those two were undisputed champions and did not have the option a titlest has to pick fighters that make you look good.
Don't cry, just listen to someone that was following the sport before you were conceved, and consider the posibilty. It was this knowledge that has won me over 200 dollars betting that Mayweather would never get into the ring with Pacquiao.
And you ask about Paquiao fighting quote "a Slick, African American" Which is a weak off topic attempt to defend you hero,
He would of if Mayweather wasn't hiding and running from him.
Sorry about the hurt man, but you are old enough now to hear the truth.
Off the top of my head, Corley, Mitchell, and Judah were all top southpaws when Floyd fought them. And Floyd beat all of them.
Three southpaws? Strange that Mayweather only fought 3, actually four, he fough a 0-7 fighter named Chavez earlier.
While guys like Hopkins and Jones Jr each fought 2 times more than that in title fights alone. And believe me if they had a choice they wouldn't have. Mayweather was guided whether by personal choice or by management around them his whole career.
And those three,
Corley lost the fight before his fight with Mayweather. Mitchell was destroyed in 3 by Tszyu a couple fights before Mayweather and Judah also lost the fight before the match with Mayweather. Safe fights suposedly.
You would love that wouldn't you, an older, slower, weaker chinned Marquez to keep your God looking good, I happen to be more Impressed with the guy who scored the 1st round Knockout.
If Marquez is weak chinned, how come a welterweight couldn't stop him. Unless you are suggesting the welterweight was overrated to begin with.
If he was allowed to fight here I can't say wheither or not he'd be alive, but maybe his wife would be. Because he would have been locked a long time ago,
If he wins it will be a good name on his record, but there are alot of people that give B-Hop credit for beating Jones Jr. and Jeff Fenech credit for beating Azumah Nelson in ther third bout, I guess it depends on how tou define "credit".
Marcos Maidana = scary
I don't have a problem with Khan other than his avoiding Maidana, but chosing the softest puncher in the division after refusing to fight his hard punching manditory is obvious. Khan fans, I didn't post this to upset you, it's just obvious.
I don't hate him, I thinks he's a very good boxer. But I have criticised him and his career. I feel since lightweight he has carefuly picked his opponents and gotten tremendous praise for beating those guys. In my 35 years of following this sport he is the most careful superstar I have seen. Even though he looked real good against a name opponent Saturday, he only took the fight because he was a sure winner, and I said that long before the fight.
Manny vs. Floyd
Timothy Bradley vs D. Alexander
Yuriorkis Gamboa vs Juanma Lopez
Wlad vs. Tua(why not?)
B-Hop vs. Dawson
of course the odds are they will never happen
The men in red here that live to praise Mayweather do have a point, Marquez was so lethargic and slow with the added weight Mayweather was able to outbox Marquez. But the TS has a point too, Mayweather was so much bigger still he was able to overpower Marquez.
PWill would be nice. I'd rather see Margarito fight a few tune ups first, primarly to see if he still can contend! Sturm would be good but you know these days unification bouts are ok to avoid.
There was once a rule that a fighter needed to win a bout before getting a title shot, but that rule was thrown out the window. I thought it was a good rule and should still be enforced.
I mean SERIOUSLY. Get off that purple you groupies. Sure, Floyd can beat Martinez, but there's nothing easy about fighting a bigger, stronger, fast southpaw.
Key word, fight never happens!
Often fighters that aren't together are successful but often the instability that could make them lose it in life shows in the ring when the pressure is too great as well. An example is Tyson falling apart and bitting off ears and McCall entering depression when the rematch with Lewis was not going right.
Perhaps the best example is Butler cold cocking Grant after the bout when the frustration was too much and he lost it.
That fight was his best night. But he wasn't alone, if you look who's in his corner with him, Richie Giachetti(trainer for L.Holmes in his championship years), Emanuel Steward and Don King as promoter. McCall was well prepared!
In the rematch Steward was in Lewis' corner!
In answer to the question McCall was strong and determined. He has a great chin and good power. There was a time earlier whn he was a sparring partner for Mike Tyson, Tyson after sparring with him told McCall, you are already a contender! I thought he should have gotten the nod in his earlier bouts with Orlin Nirris and Tony Tucker so don't let boxrec fool you.
