I read a article on the ESPN website wich asked this question.
So, who would you prefer to see Martinez fight next. A rematch with Pavlik, or if Pavlik doesnt want a re-match a 2nd fight against Williams after there close first fight?
Other options mentioned have been mentioned...a rematch with Cintron after the contrversial draw they had. A rematch with Margarito (after a green Martinez was stopped in the 7th by Margarito the year 2000)?
Other names thrown up are Angulo and a fight with Bute which would see Martinez moving up in weight.
Martinez is 35 yrs old so he doesn't have that many fights left. I think he should rematch Margarito to avenge his only true loss. Plus I wanna see Maragrito take another A** whooping.
a rematch with Williams is probably the best option right now in terms of entertainment value. I wouldn't mind a rematch with Cintron though to set the record straight.
No-one else wants to see him take Sturm's belt?
Thats just way too sexy a fight (no homo)
I would prefer to see him knock out Paul Williams lanky arse.
Bute is far too big for Martinez, he can get away with fighting a big guy like Pavlik because he's predictable and tailor-made for his style, but Bute is a completely different story. I'd like to see him beat Williams again.
I can see Pavlik moving up in weight so maybe that rematch wont happen. Maybe Pavlik may move up and fight Bute, or Martinez could move up and fight Bute since most of the 168 pounders are involved in the Super Six.
Williams II could be another good fight, and im sure Martinez would like to cancel out his draw with Cintron and his loss to Margarito. Id actually like to see Martinez vs Margarito (maybe after Margarito has had a fight or 2 now hes back). Strum at 160 would be a good fight, wouldnt that be for the Ring belt?
I agree with the poster above though, id liek to see Martinez take on the winner of Foreman vs Cotto at 154.
PWill would be nice. I'd rather see Margarito fight a few tune ups first, primarly to see if he still can contend! Sturm would be good but you know these days unification bouts are ok to avoid.
