Again, Im totally in the minority on this. I think he will fight Cotto but I dont think it should be mandatory by the media and fans that he fight Cotto and or Margarito. I also think that if he does fight them then it should be looked at like he gets way extra credit instead of looking at it like he should have to fight them and definatly win impressivley.
The reason why I always argue this is because Ive always said that not only is Floyd the P4P best fighter in the world but he's also P4P the smallest. This makes me madder then anything. He never gets any credit for that. He's fought in 5 divisions and he moved up unaturally. If he decided to stay at his normal weight then he couldve been at LW up until about the last 2 fights where he couldve easily finished his career at 140 and Im not talking about being big at those weights. He wouldve still been just a average size guy at best. Floyd has been basically by far the smallest guy in each division he has been at since 130 and he keeps moving up after a couple of fights so he's even smaller at the next weight. How can people not give credit when these other guys come into the ring at 162 and Floyd was coming in at 146? It makes no sense.
I think its so stupid when people give props to guys like Cotto, Margarito, and Calzaghe for fighting the guys they do. There the same size and in most cases Cotto & Margarito have been 10x bigger then there opponents. Its not the same as Floyd at all. He's usually much much smaller then his opponent. I always say do people really think Floyd would hesitate to fight those guys if he were there size? Why? At 130 Chico was way more scary then Margarito is now. He would kill guys and was super huge but it was Floyd' natural weight so it was nothing to him. Its hard to do that in your 4th division while those guys are still in there 1st and are super huge at that weight. I always say, lets see Margarito & Cotto go to 160 and fight Pavlik and see how they last. Its the same thing.
The only guy who has moved up more then Floyd has been guys like Pac & Oscar but both are fake guys like Duran. They were always huge and just killing themselves to make weight. Oscar was a 6ft 130 pounder who was big. His fight record compared to Floyd's is a joke in terms of fights they had at each weight and what size they were. Oscar has always been way way way bigger then Floyd. Pac has moved up a million times but he is another huge guy. Everytime he moves up he is the biggest guy in the division. He's at 130 coming into the ring at the same size Floyd was against guys like Oscar and Zab. Its crazy. They were exactly the same size but Floyd was fighting at WW and 154 while Pac was fighting at 130 but Pac was like 144 in the ring and Floyd was 146. Floyd should get way more credit for that. On top of that Pac has been fighting some good guys but there the exact same guys he fought at the smaller weights so its not like he's moving up and fighting the big guys at that weight class.
I always say, what if Floyd had stayed at 135? He wouldnt have come close to losing. Would guys like Pac, JMM, MAB, and EM have beaten him? No way. He wouldve been stronger then them and wouldve had a crazy resume but he didnt stay down like Calzaghe, Hopkins, Margarito, and Cotto. You have to give him mad credit for that. He wouldve easily dominated them. Those are actually the guys he was supposed to be fighting. There more of his size then Cotto & Margarito but Floyd just wanted to move up to chase the big money Oscar fight

But lets be clear here Floyd with 5'8 has an average height for a welter, he is not a big one but he is not short also like Cotto in comparision to Marg, Cintron,Collazo etc they are over the average size of a welter. Every man body its diferent and adapt also diferent to certain situations that athletes put themself in to. There has been guys more taller than Cotto that has began in the 130 and there body has adapt succesfully to that weight for example DLH. But that doesnt mean that other guy more taller or shorter can do the same because they are other considerations. Like muscular mass, his bodyframe etc. Cotto has the size to easily began his carrer in 135 because he is a 5'8 guy but his bodyframe do not permit him. This sense that Floyd has always fought guys more bigger than him is absurd. With his 5'8 he was big in the 130 and average in all most every weight that he has been in to. Obviously you sometimes found guys like P Williams and Marg in some divitions in boxing that are more bigger and strong than you but that doesnt mean that you dont belong to that weight. Lets be honest here, to me Floyd is the best pure boxer in box not only today but in the last decade or more and he is a great athlete the best. But also he has been not the strong one in the mayority of his biggest fight that he has been in to( corrales, Castillo) for example. He was not facing guys more bigger than him he was facing guys more strong than him. He is what he is because of his abilities. But sometimes theres is a limit in what can do specials skills vs physical disadvantages. And i think he is in this position right know if you think a posible match Between Floyd vs Marg or Cotto. ( that doesnt mean that he can not win but his chances are less).

Margarito had not been physically matured yet as a fighter. You'll find many fighters who were knocked down a couple of times early in their career, and went on to have a granite chin known by boxing fans when they reached their prime.
If this is some kind of argument that Cotto will knock Margarito out, it is a terrible argument. Muhammad Ali was knocked down at around the same age as Tony was. I don't think anybody would have use those examples as to why Frazier or Foreman would have KO'd him, because by the time he was in his prime, he was barely EVER knocked down again.
Furthermore anybody can be knocked down in Boxing, but if you look at it realisticly, there is no way Margarito is gonna be knocked out cold by Cotto.

If someone have atleast some chance to beat mayweather is Miguel Cotto. I am an ameteur boxer in PR and i sometimes go to the gym that miguel goes and i see from my own eyes how fast is his jab. He can put that jab consistenly to anyones face througout the hole fight. And remember that jab is like a left hook of a lot of averege boxer out there. And i think mayweather is not the tipe of boxer that can recist a lot damage throug 12 rounds he is not shane mosly in that aspect. I know that mayweather is the most gifted boxer out there if we are talking of boxing skills. But i dont have a lot of respect for him because when he was in the lower divitions he never fight with Barrera, Morales, Juan Manuel Marquez. His first true fight was with Castillo. When he was in 140 he does not fight with the best. He goes to 147 and fights De la Hoya and he won but i saw he is vulnerable with boxers that put presure and are most strong than him. And De la Hoya is not a Hatton or Cotto. Mayweather later said that is going to retire and later said that is going to fight Hatton the same guy the he try to not collide in 140. My point is that he said he is the best when he does not fight the bests fighters in each of very divition that he has been in too. Hes not a Mosley, De la Hoya, Trinidad, Hopkins that are the tipe of fighter that said if they are going to another divition, Whos the best here and they fight them. Floyd is not so short to be a ww. Obviosly compare to Margarito, Wlliams. Cintron he is a midget. But that guys are ww with size of sw and in the case of Williams he has the size of a 160 divition guy. But comparing floyd with Cotto and Hatton is not a considerable diference. I think the most difficult guy to beat in this weight is Wlliams, his size and arms length can cause trouble to anyone. Especially throwing that jab ask Margarito. Im not saying that Williams is the best but remember a lot of fights can be determined by styles. I think at this moment the best welterweights are Mayweather and Cotto. Hatton very near but not at the level of this two because Hatton is too robotic in his boxing style besides he is a great champion and has a lot of power in his hands. Cotto he can box more than Hatton you see that in the fight with Mosley and have an equal or superior power in his hands. Thats why i think that the robotic style of Hatton is perfect to the very thecnical boxing style of Mayweather. Needlees to say Mayweather have to be precausios because Hatton can finish the fight with one punch. Thats why i think Cotto have a better chance to beat mayweather because he have some quiet good boxing skills in combination with relentles power and determination inside the ring. Hey guys styles makes fights. And also boxing its not a sport 100 percent predictable. To say that Cotto can win because he box better than marg and also to say that cotto loses to PBF because PBF box better its not a wise thing. Sometimes we have seen that the preasure fighter has won over the stilyst boxer. For example: Trinidad vs whitaker, Salvador Sanchez vs Wilfredo Gomez, Terry Norris vs Chavez, Cotto vs mosley. So every case is diferent. Not always the pure boxer beat the brawler and sometimes the browler can beat the pure boxer. Theres is no style superior than other,but the reality is that are boxers better and more determined than others no matter how they fight.
I trully believe that Cotto has what it takes to beat Margarito. He is a very complete boxer. He can box,he puts inteligent preasure, has a great jab, decent speed, good ring generalship,great bodypuncher, decent power in his hands, good footwork, average defensive skills( atleast better than Marg). If i have to choose a winner my humble opinion is Cotto. But Marg can proove me wrong because i have some doubts in Cotto especially in how is going to handdle that kind of preasure, in how is going to absorb the puching power of marg, What he is going to do with marg work rate. Theres its not and absolute truth. The two of them are great warriors and great champs. They already show what they are made of in just accepting to fight each other. So we have a fight difficult to predict and a lot of exitment.

Well good for Roy he win clearly. My respect also to Tito that was coming in a 2/8 years inactivity. He show he still can box but Roy it was too strong for him. Trinidad landed a lot of good body shots but roy its too strong for Trinidad. I can say that Tito look better than a lot of oponents that roy has fought in the past. I still think Tito can compete in the 160 pounds or 154pounds where his hands can do more damage.
I think Tito would have a shot vs brawlers who are more hittable. Roy walked down Tito at times, in a slow manner. But his hands were fast. Pavlik would try to walk Tito down but with not even close to the threatening handspeed of Roy. Plus Pavlik throws more so there's more chance for Tito to get into the brawl he would want.
You got big names (kinda) at 160 that Tito could possibly beat. If he looked this good vs Roy with NO tuneups, I think can could beat guys like Arthur Abraham, John Duddy, and maybe Pavlik. Maybe. Even if not, it'd be a good scrap to watch.
