Here in the UK Molina is 8/1 at the bookmakers, so if I back him with $100 I'd win $800 if he beat Broner.
Having seen the shape on Broner 8 weeks from the fight, how out of sorts and scared he looked at the weigh in, Molina's confidence (he looked ecstatic at that weigh in) and the power he has: what do you guys make of the odds?
It was CLEARLY staged. It wasn't meant to look that obvious but Broner was so unfit he couldn't beat a man that stood in front of him refusing to show punches. Broner had his mouth hanging open by the seventh. Molina was fresh all through to the last bell. Disgusting to see on tv. Terrible for boxing. Clearly a fixed fight.
The second fight was legit. Look how quickly they were moving. Both marked up. Both out of breath. That's what happens when you actually try. Who would go out there and not be out of breath? Throwing ONE punch a MINUTE?! Terrible for our sport when there's blatant bribery and match fixing like this was.
oh come on it was clearly fixed! don't buy into this "he was elusive" thing. most of us agree that this was the most obviously fixed fight we've ever seen. nobody but nobody would put on that performance, holding back on their punches, chance at beating a name, get to r12 and not throw a single punch. the fk outta here. this. fight. was. bought.
Brook by knockout, and I think he'll do it easily.
Brook's jab will control the fight, he will counter Khan's no defence flurries and hurt him early.
Brook is the better fighter, the stronger fighter, the bigger man...He's just all around better.
^^^ Everything he said. AK is overrated as fk. Fast hands dont mean isht when you dont follow through with your punches and your chin is made from bone china.
How can you duck some you've already fought and lost to? That is straight up retarded. If Froch had won and Ward felt hard done by, got better or had something else to prove then this would be a duck but Froch lost! If there was a rematch we ALL know exactly how it would go. So why bother? Because Froch makes bank? Not his fault the Son Of God is an inactive borefest. Id sooner watch Froch Groves 3 over Ward at this point. For his next fight it has to be Chavez Jr. Then retirement fight MAYBE try avenge his loss if he actually believes he can do it? Otherwise Kessler 3, Jean Pascal 2, Hopkins (?) or James De Gale.
I hope you idiots keep thinking AK is good enough to set foot inside the ring with Floyd. You must be out of your god damn minds but hey it's fools like you that make these fights happen and I will happily take all your money when gun-shy mayweather knocks amir the **** out. If this fight ever gets made I promise you I'm taking all your money by backing Floyd for KO as I guarantee, absolutely 100%, that glass chin Kahn gets put to sleep in his corner once again. Remember these "crazy" words as clearly someone doesn't know **** about boxing.
on the contrary. Abe is not good against people that smother him and go to the body, as shown in the Raul Marquez fight(where he got a rib broken).
the trick is not too keep in mid-range with Abe. thats where his comfort punching zone is. either fight really close or fight way on the outside.
Abe is very flawed, but his power is the great equalizer. I could see Froch mugging his way to a decision, possibly stoppage win, but I could also easily see Abe getting lucky and landing a fight changing punch.
Froch is actually much craftier than people give him credit for. he might be able to figure Abe out.
my fight plan for Froch: shove Abe around on the inside and be active, keeping him in his shell. one Abe decides to do his 1 minute offensive attack, back off fast and let him burn off, shoving back to infight if Abe catches up with him. rinse and repeat.
This is a guy knows what he's talking about too. AA isn't exactly the most multi-dimensional fighter... he's there to block punches and hit you back at mid-range. 100% guarantee this fight plan is what Froch adopts... but if he gets inside and manages to land cleanly (by breaking down the guard) Froch will get more confident as the fight goes on. This could be an advantage to either fighter.
Let's not forget Froch's power... he was nicknamed the cobra for a reason - he hits quick and hard. This could be the biggest puncher AA's faced (esp at this weight) and there's no telling how he'll react if Froch does land. Abe will probably respond the only way he knows how when confronted with power and that's his shell like defence. If that doesn't work for him because he's being rocked HARD and to the body what happens next? He's losing on the cards so he has to let his hands go a bit, which means goodbye defence. I'm damned sure neither fighter wants another loss, especially when they both think they were cheated.
Whatever happens I'm certain Froch is taking Abraham to a place he hasn't been before. The way I see it is like an animal fighting a sledgehammer that has a potentially weak handle.
Abraham has a pretty good defence against the body. If Froch can get past his tight shell he might have a chance.
He has to be careful though because Abraham likes to cover up and wait to land that fight ending bomb on his opponents.
Going to the body on Abe could lead to being knocked out himself..
Sure Abe protects his chest well but there's a reason Froch has brought up the high shorts issue this week-he's trying to put pressure on the referee to allow shots to the lower areas of the body, areas that Abe seems keen to protect. Seriously try covering your lower adominals in Abe's shell like defence-it drops your hands and leaves the head exposed. So far Abe's worn those shorts incredibly high most of his career-this tells me one of two things: he is weak to the lower areas or has trouble adjusting his defence.
By getting the referee on board Froch *could* expose what is potentially the most overrated defence in the sport. Before you reply please try the shell like defence for yourself and tell me how Abraham manages to cover his whole body like that.
Having said that Abe could remove Froch's head from his shoulders too.
yes, froch is so fast and has such excellent boxing skills just like direll he's going to stick and move beautifully with his superior boxing skills and lightning fast hands. LOL
Abraham by fatality.
Post of the year? This is some Nostradamus type ****.
Make fun of the Royal Bandwagon...
I would have done the same about your Froch Mobile lol
To be fair I still say Abraham could KO most SMWs and for that reason alone he still commands some respect. Saying that he still got a boxing education last night!
I'm good with Abe's fans who said it was a pick 'em fight last night, 50:50. I agreed... but to the one's who said Froch was a glorified club fighter, that he was slow, weak and a poor boxer who Abraham would destroy physically and mentally, the ones who wrote off Froch completely as a bum... how do you like them apples?

Difference in power between 8oz and 10oz gloves?
Anyone with experience able to comment on how much difference those 2oz make? Would the Mayweather Cotto fight have gone down differently if they were in 8s? Specifically I'm thinking of all those right hooks hitting Cotto clean to the face, and then obviously the final round. Would there have been substantially more damage, a KO, or is the difference negligible? Thanks.
Retire at 28?! What the hell is wrong with these so called boxers?? 28 is barely hitting prime for most fighters and Khan is nowhere near clearing out 3 divisions btw. You don't get to be a ring legend fighting Irish bums Amir.
I'm so sick of waiting for someone to break this china again. Damn you Maidana for being slow as ****.
I think what you have is plain hate buddy! By that you are not a true boxing fan! The fact is, Khan is improving under Roach and of sparring exposure with Pac whether you admit it or not. Only one thing is true, 28 years old is too young to retire for a successful boxer!:boxing:
Not a true boxing fan?? Haha I'm true enough a boxing fan to be up all night waiting to watch another Rican take a knee. :P
Anyway I've been watching Amir since his amateur days, including practically every pro bout. Trust me he's an overprotected hype job living off his speed and cleverly cherry picked opponents - in the ams speed kills but without the headgear he's a knockout waiting to happen. The only reason he fought maidana is because they thought he'd never land the bombs - Amir was slick against Paulie and chino got a very very close decision against chop chop of all people... Without these events Kahn was NEVER stepping in with Maidana.
Bradley is overrated and a cheat so for that fight expect a big deal to be made about the headbutts in the lead up, then a crooked ref for the night. Amir will prob win ud. He's starting to fill out a bit too (his back looks like a man's back since working with ariza) so combined with his bloating up between fights he'll have to move up soon, esp since JMM beat Kats so the prospect of an ageing legend to further pad his resume is out the window. At 147, just like another poster said, they'll cherry pick and pick up some paper belt. The problem is there's a lot more talent at 147 and 154 so it's far more risky. I mean seriously 154? Sergio would actually coffinise Amir. This whole BS about being better than Pac is the best thing tho because I really believe him-in SPARRING he probably beats Pac. What he needs to remember is that it's sparring, and he's there for a very specific reason which is training Pac to be fast, hit a mover and react to someone so quick. But based on his interviews and twitter Kahn has taken a lot of confidence from this so hopefully his handlers make a mistake and you guys see the truth some day. He's been talking Mayweather (LOL!) a lot and I guarantee you if that contract makes it's way anywhere near Floyd's camp ODST will be a thing of the past-money will snatch the pen right out your hand.
If there's one thing I've learnt in boxing it's that they will always milk a cash cow dry. Pac = cash cow. Floyd = cash cow. If they face each other then one of them becomes irrelevant. It makes so much more business sense for Pac to face all these past it/shot/no hope but marketable bums, selling it to all the chumps who believe any of his opponents has a slither of a chance, before ever stepping in the ring with Mayweather. Now I'm not saying Floyd is fresh as daisies in this whole situation (he doesn't want to lose that 0 against his only marketable challenger, aside from one of the boys at 140 or Sergio where he'd be undersized) but don't think for a second that this has nothing to do with business, and while there's good money to be made elsewhere I can guarantee this fight is never getting booked.
I was one of those saying Morales would beat Maidana - if it wasn't for the eye which came from showing too much respect in the early stages then he would have and I'm 100% sure Morales wins by KO in a rematch. Maidana is a B level fighter.
A fight versus JMM would be a completely different prospect. Marquez is an elite level fighter, has a good arsenal and would not make the same mistakes Maidana did, both offensively where he didn't take advantage of the few opportunities he had to really hurt Morales, and defensively where he was wide open for El Terrible to score consistently throughout the fight. Whilst it was a good performance from Morales you really have to see Maidana for what he is before heaping too much praise on him - a close loss to an overrated statue, with little boxing ability but a fairly strong punch, does not mean you're ready to fight at the very top.
The only wildcard is the weight - one of the things we've learnt is that JMM doesn't carry the added bulk as well as some fighters do when moving up. If the fight takes place at 140 then it obviously plays in Morales' favour, but I still don't think it's enough of a handicap to prevent a Marquez win. If I was Marquez I'd favour a Maidana fight - he lacks that x factor that could cause an upset and it seems less of a risk. Morales is still returning to form, you can see from his physique that there's room for improvement, and the truth is Juan will box chino's face off for a good pay day, and Morales will be there for his next fight if he doesn't get that shot at Pac.
I thought the card fell apart and it was only the main event now?
Also... find it funny that Oscar wrote on twitter the other day that after maidana/morales there'd be no more bs ppv from him, and that all his shows would have cards as stacked as this... then one week later he's sitting at the press conference for khan vs some unknown where nobody else is fighting but they're still charging some chumps $25 for one fight.
we know that Shane has 3-4 rounds to do it.
Here's another x factor. What if Shane's been on the EPO or similar? Everyone suspects Pac of it and heck if I was fighting him, thought he had an unfair advantage and that I had the same opporunity to exploit weaknesses in the drug testing system as him then I'd sure as hell be doing it. When did Shane start gassing so early anyway? When he started doing OSDT??
I know it sounds a bit ridiculous but the opportunity is there.
Hopkins. I used to hate that mother ****er... now I see him for what he is and that's every other fighter's most difficult opponent.
The pushups in the ring against Pascal sealed the deal.
Tell you the truth, he has bad English though.
He probably went to boxing gym more than school.
definitely. the number of times he writes "cloths" instead of "clothes" on twitter is dumb as ****. "just going to the store to pick up some new cloths. i love cloths. got a whole drawer full of cloths at home". hope maidana knocks his teeth through the back of his empty head.
Something about this fight doesn't sit right. Look at the size of Margs - he's far too big and cheater or not a cheater you can't deny he has a good chin, he can probably throw a punch without the wraps in the shape he comes into the ring and he SHOULD beat anyone that much smaller than him, regardless of it being the so called best fighter on earth. However... the likeliness is he's been using those wraps all his life. Do you really think he wouldn't have known his trainer was wrapping his hands in plaster of paris?! Please. And do you really believe someone who was willing to wrap his hands in plaster of paris in a boxing ring would then immediately turn over a new leaf and suddenly not be crooked?? I doubt it. I don't trust Margarito for one sec and I'd wager he's been given a higher split of the purse to take a dive, or at least make Manny look good in some way. Without this fight where exactly is Margarito's career going??! If he wasn't fighting Manny or Floyd do you really think he'd have got a license anywhere? He's only got it in Texas because that place is as crooked as his trainer. So I say - one last "big" payday for Margarito, one more weight division "conquered" by the Pacman and a whole load of cash in Arum's back pocket with no risk at all. BS.
So basically the Klits want MORE than 50% even though most of the money is coming from Britain (if Germany don't have PPV)? Are they out of their minds?? They're nobodies in the UK, absolute nobodies... if it's true that most of the money will come from Sky Box Office then they should bite Haye's hand off for 50%. Seriously imagine there was a condition for purchasing the PPV - "Have you ever seen a Klits fight before this fight?"... yes and the K bros get the money, no and Haye does. The K bro would get <5%. Seriously if this is the stalling point then the K bros are out of their god damn minds. Take 50% Wlad.
This is a great bit of promo for Wlad. "Please with a lot of 'e's.... don't get killed (because I want to do it)!"
Haye knows he doesn't stand a chance now. I believed him when he moved up but more and more it's becoming apparent that he doesn't belong with the big guys. Wlad by brutal KO if this fight ever materialises... but Haye will run like a chicken to try and avoid it.
What are u talking about...the first....that was the same combo Marquez ALWAYS hits pacquiao..even the prior fight.....yeah..pacquioa might have doubled the impact by running into the shot...but Marquez certainly has been taking some supplements with memo...he has never hurt manny like that before.
you're mistaken mate. usually he hits pacquiao with pure counters but this was really clever trap setting. you trick a boxer into seeing certain looks from you and then they move their hands to block those looks by reflex. the first knockdown was all about that - go watch the round again, marquez set him up with the body all round and then on the slow mo you can see pac instinctively moving his left hand DOWN, all to stop that same body shot. but marquez gave him a different look - a huge effort to the face, look at the arc off his arm and look at how close he was to pacquiaos glove - the timing on that shot was to the millisecond.
the actual knockout wasn't like that though - it was a different type of trick. if you listen to marquez interview after the fight he even breaks it down for you... they knew manny had something to prove. that he would try for the big KO. So when manny landed something of significance in the sixth marquez started moving away, stopped countering for a little while, invited manny to take risks. it was all about getting him in the perfect position for a counter - a position he would never normally adopt. how often in these fights have you seen pacquiao rushing his face forward in that sort of area around an opponents body? never. the combination of having a point to prove and thinking he had a chance of a series defining ko, something to quiet the doubters and prove his "greatness", all this led to him being completely careless.
as a fan of boxing both of those punches were things of beauty. marquez said the advantage he had was that he was smarter than pacquiao and my word did he prove it.
