WBC never made him. Whyte got messed around a bit by WBC, even before the PED thing.
I don’t blame Wilder. I blame the WBC. They pick and choose what fighters they want to force into mandatory fights. Adonis Stevenson went about 4 years without a mandatory.
That's true the WBC are partly to blame, but be could have chosen to fight him anyway I'm sure.
If he can't get a decent fight in the states he should come back across the pond and make decent money in what will be an easy fight against someone like Sam Eggington. Better than not fighting at all.
Except that nobody but the casuals believe he's anywhere near the best in the world at this point. TBE is an illusion anyway. It's Floyd fans and nut lickers who created that belief and because he never got an 0 on his record it makes some fools believe it's the truth. No fighter is the best ever...Ali wasn't the best either. Pacquaio wasn't the best. These are foolish claims.
Ali wasn't 'TBE' but he is the greatest, it's different

The belt holds the weakest champions with the exception of Usyk, Lomachenko, crawford
The sheer amount of Top Rank/Frank Warren champions and top contenders makes a mockery of it
“Marinating” the fight isn’t a problem if they are fighting the other top guys in their division. It would also be nice if the alphabet groups didn’t force such overmatched mando’s but that’s life
LHW as well but I don't talk about you I talk about people in this thread claiming it's cream of the crop. CW is the division where it happened already and it was stacked too
We all know it's just between Bud and Spence, Keith and Danny are out of the picture
Just like CW tournament was about Usyk and Gassiev from the start
LHW doesnt have clear favorites
Let’s hope the WW division follows the CW and the fights actually happen. That’s been the best thing about the WBSS.
The weekly reach column is what OP is citing from the the website.
Here's how "reach" is defined

That's not at all equivalent to PPV buys.
In this case it is, Sky Sports Box office is a ppv channel that doesn’t show many events
There is a huge difference in the lil weights compared to lhw and cw...
Yeah, I have them ranked Bud just ahead of Usyk, but the point was more that he’s had more chances that Usyk hasn’t had the chance to fight in multiple weight classes in the same way, especially with him turning pro at 26
For the argument that bud has fought in 3 divisions it’s worth pointing out that the weight difference between these is less than the 25lbs between lhw and cruiser
He looks talented, but until he wins against better opponents most will assume he’s gonna fail once he steps up the opposition. Also not sure lomachenko is the best comparison, PBK’s footwork isn’t quite the same and he uses upper body movement more in defence
I think the WBSS is reaching its most meaningful stage in 2018, with this year having a number of gimme fights. I don't think anything truly resounded has happened in the tournament, but with Breidis/Usyk and Eubank/Groves now in action, the tournament has some context to it.
I agree, just thought it was worth a mention as a set up
I don’t know where he’s the “A-side” because it’s not in the uk. He’s Anthony “no Yarde, not Joshua”, unless he’s got confused and thinks he’s the other guy :p
