The IBF rankings in april were,
Title Holder,
Chris Byrd
#1 Monte Barrett
#2 Hasim Rahman
#3 Wladimir Klitschko
.
.
.
#7 SERGEI LYAKOVICH
If Barrett and Rahman are already fighting, one of them will loose and get knocked down in the rankings leaving Wladimir at #2. If big brother Vitali beats the winner of the Barrett/Rahman fight, they should get knocked down leaving Wladimir at #1. Does that scenario make sense or am I missing something?
Assuming Wladimir fights and wins between now and then.
Hell, that's as clear as a mountain stream! Wlad vs Byrd, bring it on! Then he go after Brewster w/belt in hand. Wlad w/ IBF & WBO, Vit w/ WBA & WBC! Sounds like a dream come true for the Klitchkos.

Him vs Winky would be a good fight, two great boxers, I think Hopkins would show everyone how to beat a boxer like Winky Wright but Winky would give him a great fight. I would be routing for Winky but im not sure if he can beat him. Leave Tarver and Johnson open for it Roy stops all of his talk and returns.
Winky's HOT right now, but the knock on B-Hop lately is that he's been beating up on smaller guys, so Winky does nothing for his legacy at this point. Remember, B-Hop is all about history and legacy now. So, defeating the young bull, Taylor, then moving up to lt-hvy and doing what his idol, the GREATEST P4P fighter ever, Sugar Ray Robinson, couldn't do, win the lt-hvy belt is HUGE to him. Then, how about a final match against RJJ. They don't write it any better in Hollywood!
The last time I checked Wlad is one of very few non beltholders (including Toney and Brock) who has beaten a top 15 heavyweight within the past year.
Okay, but where does he rank in each of the alphabet boys' hallucinations? And where does The Ring rank him? And with all this talk of unification, who's gonna promote it? And more important, who's gonna buy it? Heavyweights aint zactly been tearing it up on the ppv circuit .
I am kind of getting sick of the heavyweight division, it gets annoying because the best guys never fight each other. All I can say is...Go Tyson!
Yeah! GO TYSON...and take Byrd and Ruiz with you! LOL!
very good points.
I don't think Wright would be considered a "small" guy. Even though he just moved up, he is obviously a true Middleweight and should command respect as such. I agree with your points about his legacy,etc..I just don't like the styles matchup for him against Tarver.
I don't either, so maybe Johnson wins, if not, it's gonna be looong night for B-Hop. A TRUE measure of greatness if he can pull it off. If not, his legacy at middleweight is secure.
You have never seen him fight?...He has faster hands than Nard, better jab than Nard, seems to have more power than Nard, and is YOUNGER...
You are obviously a YOUNG man. Take it from an OLD man, "Old age and treachery will overcome youth and skill." One of my all-time favorite bumper stickers.
Thank you sir, I'm still looking for a good news site since boxing-central went away. I dont think I've been to the front page here since last year, just a forum lurker/poster. I gotta check there more.
You can also check out www.fightnews.com.
Byrd better be careful and start kissing some Don King ass. He is boring and doesn't put butts in seats..that is why nobody wants to fight him except Wlad. Byrd refused to go to Germany to fo fight Wlad, so the deal was off. Don King is fed up with the no money making Byrd and is looking to drop him from DKP.
I would like to see Byrd vs Toney in Detroit. That is about the only Byrd fight I need to see.
Byrd vs Toney in Detroit would be BAAAD!! And a promoter's dream.
Could you imagine the undercard...Tommy Hearns' kid, Rico Hoye, and open with Ron Artest vs Ben Wallace!
The WBC is the most crooked bastards in the sport more so than King.
Mayorga vs Castillejo was supposed to be on for the 21st on the undercard of Golota vs Brewster. HBO even announced it on a telecast and had it on there website for a while. The reason given it was pushed back was because they feared Mayorga would have more troubles with his rape trial and needed more time to train. Also Don wants to have a "blockbuster" ppv in July or August and probably saving it for that time.
The deal was done and agreed on (obviously if HBO mentions it on live camera and in print as an upcoming telecast). So I dont know what the hell the WBC and Vargas is bitching about.
Hell the WBO is looking damn credible these days, although the only belt that really counts is the ring belt.
BOYCOTT ALL ALPHABELT BELTS!!! POWER TO THE FIGHTERS!!!
VIVE LE REVOLUTION!!!
The post was in regards to the IBF. I guess your saying I'm missing something in that scenario? Your so creative in your reply, lets see if you are just as talented with your left brain and tell me what I missed.
No, man, you got me all wrong. That's the information I was looking for. I appreciate it. I'd love to see Wlad fight Byrd, and in this scenario, it not only makes sense, but is justified in this crazy, multi-dimensional world we live in that allows for four heavyweight champs. I just have a habit of looking at things from an absurdist point of view. Don't take it personal, it wasn't meant that way. What weight you fight at?
In continuing his dream to hold a title at the same time as his brother, who should Wladimir Klitschko challenge and why?
Hey, I got dreams too! What has Wlad done lately to DESERVE a title shot? Let him beat some contenders, then think about challenging for somebody's title. Maybe Samuel Peter or that Tyson guy.
Hopkins way better record than wink. Wink would get stomped by Hopkins no doubt.
Damn, Pretender! We finally agree on somethin', must be a full moon! LOL!
This startin' to piss me off!! Fuck Don King!!! Let the courts decide.
This is total bullshit, and an exact representation of everything that's wrong with boxing!
Now I AM pissed off!
Actually I think espn is finally starting to show more boxing stuff. On espn news they had Floyd Mayweather, and Ricky Hatton interviews. After the Gatti fight they had the news in the bottom right hand corner, and showed highlights and punch stats.
You're right. Ever since ESPN entered the PPV market boxing has been getting a lot more coverage, both on TV and radio. Here in the ATL we've actually got a couple of radio hosts that take calls on the most recent fights. I'm talkin PBF/Gatti, not that Tyson shit. If it ain't happenin' where you are, call your local ESPN talk station and tell 'em you want to talk boxing.
I voted for James "lights out Toney" and if not him then Golota is my second choice. Vitali looses his fight to Rahman because his back surgery screws him up and he is never the same. Then Golota fights Rahman and drops him due to Rahman's somewhat bad chin. Then Toney fights fight Golota and picks him apart and becomes undisputed champion. This is all after Toney wins a UD over Byrd. I voted for James "lights out" Toney.
Yeah, I've got this gut feeling that Vitali ain't gonna be right, if and when he's back from back surgery. And I like the rest of your scenario. Toney's got MONSTER skills, which is what you need to take out a monster. When you guys get old like me, you'll find out that size isn't everything.
Here you go brother!

Thanks, man! That's what I call U-G-L-Y, you aint got no alibi, you UGLY, uh-huh, you UGLY.
What's up with this shit? Sparring is for getting work in, not answering somebody's challenge. Let Rock beat Vitali, if he can, and if Toney can do a number on Huggy Bear, like most of us want ANYBODY to do, then they can meet for real, where it counts. Otherwise, quit posturing.
OK, so maybe this is just way in advance publicity?
hire a midget assassin to take out Ruiz
Hell, call Tonya Harding! That should cover everything listed so far. And if you've seen the pictures of her all 'roided up, she might even be able to kick Ruiz' ass while she's at it.
I'd like to see him fight Toney. And if somehow Wlad can get in with Byrd, then maybe the Klit Bros will realize their dream and be done with it. Or better yet, then Vit fights Rock and Wlad fights Brewster, and The Pretender goes into unending orgasms trying to figure out which Klit his boy can lick! LOL!!
I'm rooting for Gatti, and I want him to push PBF to levels of intensity of HEART and SOUL and WILL, that PBF has never before reached. PBF is obviously the most talented fighter in the game today, but skills will only take you so far. What does he have in his heart? If he can swim in the REAL deep water, then my hat's off to him. If not, OFF WITH 'IS HEAD!
RJJ was on the radio earlier this week, here in the ATL, he was in town for a golf tourney. He said he was interested in fighting B-Hop, at 175,
for a 50/50 split.
