Quillin was offered 1.4 millions to fight.. Kovorov? and he declined and vacated the WBO belt, because Haymon promised him the same money in the future.
Then he got to fight Jacobs and Quillin was getting paid 1.5 because that's what Haymon had offered to him if he vacated that belt, and Jacobs got the same because both were Haymon fighters. But in reality it would be a fight with 700k for both max.
Now he uses that ****ty argument to say he needs to be paid more. BS. You don't deserve more you interim champion that can't sell.
Stop crying.
He's still a top 5 WW. Some people need to be carried out of the ring to stop boxing. I'm sure money is part of it but I think Manny still wants to compete.
Yea but he had good style for Marquez ,more defensive and bigger Floyd left marquez no chance ,no openings and size advatage was to big,imo i 130 JMM could even floor PBF on couter right but just my opinion.
Marquez has never slipped a left hook in his life. That's always been his fatal flaw.
Joking aside-- There were talks about Stevenson fighting Kovalev but Stevenson's team backed out because they wanted to fight Hopkins for more money. How Kovalev got the fight with Hopkins and not Stevenson is the mystery to me.
Duva was suing GBP so Hopkins was sacrificed.
Canelo isn't even ready to fight him for a year lol. Everybody in the business is saying a flat fee is garbage for this fight, but you know better
I get it you're in love with GGG. My point is let the situation play out. Everyone always has to try and take sides. One minute people slam Stevonson for turning down a horrible offer to fight Kovalev, and it's not like they offered him 10 mil, yet they defend GGG. How about we keep it consistent.
And all those fights he's taken since were lesser than a rematch.
I won't argue that his resume is better than Kovs, but how sad is it that you have the better quality of opponents and nobody cares about you and the guy with the lesser resume is getting all the attention, all the praise and anything positive coming his way while you sit fighting once a year on a Friday night in front of a couple thousand.
I guess he can take that as a moral victory when he buys the Kov/Ward PPV
To be honest I don't think that Adonis gives two sh.its about that stuff.
First I heard that yet. And what would that be exactly??
Gennady 1) he's ILL holding IBO. Go for the WBU too why don't he? 2) < that aside............. He's an absolute darling at this time! However 3) He IS set in a manner right now that DOES NOT completely establish him! YOU HOPE HE IS THE GOODS!
Who is "Jacobs?" I'm gonna look!
For 20th time I was being sarcastic.
You come into this thread saying Ggg is pricing himself out for a fight in one year at best, and now you're saying let the situation play out, as they're negotiating? Get your story straight.
I was being sarcastic. But I understand NSB logic. It's a duck unless it's the fighter you support.
Much ado about nothing? Even if you throw out his age and late start, look where he stands with his career. The supposed best LHW because he has the lineal title... but he barely fights, and when he does it's on a friday night on Showbox, spike or some shit.
You really gonna defend him doing nothing, especially signing w/Haymon who was supposed to boost him?
He couldn't even make the Fonfara rematch after boiling it over for 2 years.
Even you can't argue that his career is going nowhere right now, absolutely nowhere.
He beat Fonfara soundly. And as inactive as Adonis has been he's doing a lot better than Kovalev.
He's 39 and hasn't fought a worthy opponent in a while. I doubt he even fights the Ward/Kovalev winner.
I thought Williams was respectable. On par with Pascal and a 48 year old Hopkins. And definitely better than Nabjib whateverthafvck.
Exactly. This is why Jacobs is making the deal impossible and pricing himself out of the fight. He don't want it.
They all say they want it until it's time to deal, then they vacate, run, or retire.
Like how GGG is pricing himself out with Canelo?
I would give GGG credit for beating Jack. I've been impressed with Jacks improvement over the past 5 or 6 fights. Jack has a grit to his style that I like.
Who cares he won the fight convincingly. No need to cry about it now. Haters gonna hate. That's what happens when you reach elite status. It happened to Floyd, Manny, Oscar, and hundreds of others who were at the top.
There's little confidence in his eyes. Probably inside he feels he ****ed up the camp by travelling so late. First time in years that he flies for a fight like this.
Didn't he fight in Morocco a year or two ago?
That's guarantee money, of course he was gonna get PPV upside just like Lemieux who brought a belt to unify.
In any case sounds like he passed on 2-3m which is way more than this mando is worth
When it comes time to make the fight I assume Haymon will be the one making the offer.
Brook is no world class fighter. He's good but he has no head movement at all. He struggled badly to get away from GGG's jab. He doesn't show much foot movement either. Numerous times last night he stood in front of GGG. Plus he throws these wild ass left hooks. Now I'll admit Brook put up a valiant effort but Spence beats Brook down like he stole something.
Just shows you dont know what you are talking about or you are trying to spew lies and bull**** to suit your agenda.
If Jacbos wanted to face GGG that fight would have happened already. Loeffler actually talked to Danny and made him an offer which was same as his highest payday vs Quillin. 1.5 mill and Danny said its chump change and said he wants to build the fight and face GGG when the fight is marinated, in 1-1.5 years. Danny is very inactive and cant sell tickets and has a paper belt, if he beats GGG he would become a superstar, so whats the reason not to take the GGG fight for $1.5 mil? I mean Canelo paid Lara $1 mill and he was happy. Wtf do you guys think Jacobs is worth?? FOR WHAT?
Now FINALLY that Jacobs got a ton of critique, he is now slowly realizing he has to face GGG or he can also just retire and become another clown in the sport.
1.5 is chump change considering it would probably be an HBO PPV.
Honestly its a really a weak division n these guys not taking the risk or not taking pay cuts for the greatness just makes it worst
Props to him n Kid Chocolate finally stepping up but they dont deserve it, but for what???? Doing what they are suppose to do face the best, they are just taking advantage of us boxinc fans
At least Jacobs wants to fight GGG. GGG fans will sit there and scream no one wants to fight GGG, and the next minute hate on Jacobs who is calling him out. Jacobs is one of the few MWs out there that is sellable. If I were GGG or Canelo I would be looking to get in the ring with him.
Kind of hard to believe Jacobs calling Golovkin out when he has already said he doesn't want it, and the reason Golovkin is fighting Brook is specifically because two fighters who called him out and both b*tched out when the time came to make the fight.
Until Jacobs proves otherwise, I'll assume his talk just as empty as everyone else who says they want to fight Golovkin but are nowhere to be found when it's time to do so.
2 years ago he said he wasn't ready. Not the same as saying he doesn't want it. Jacobs has always been an honest guy so I don't see no reason to take him at his word. I'm going to laugh my ass off if Canelo gets Jacobs because GGG's team try's to play hardball.
