^This. It was the thigh, though I'll say from experience that thigh punches usually end up sliding against the cup after the impact is taken on the thigh. I've taken dozens of knees to the testes w/o a cup in MMA and only once had a reaction as bad as Amir.
People have to be goofy to think the guy "can't continue" but he can stand around and give an interview after. :lol1:
A true ball busting impact to the testes leaves you coiled up for quite a while, on the verge of vomiting, and the last thing you do is shake it off when you're in the clear and chat up the first person that comes to you with a mic.
Listening to Khan's voice, it wasn't exactly Golota nut shot on Bowe.
It's fine to respect and miss past fighters. But a lot of people automatically pick past fighters over the newest generation of fighters today, which is extremely stupid and disturbing.
Reality is, boxing's just like any other sport, its athletes are constantly evolving and getting better. The fastest runner in the world 20 years ago won't even make the top 10 today. Training, nutrition, genetics, and coaching are constantly improving in every sport.
Prime Cotto is not beating Crawford or Spence. Prime Ali or Holmes is not beating Anthony Joshua, lol. A lot of Ali and Hagler "fans" have never even watched any of their fights in its entirety.
A LOT can change in the sport in just 10 years. The old timers have had their time. We need to embrace the future, appreciate and respect the NOW. Active fighters today like Crawford, Spence, Canelo, and Joshua are the best there has ever been.
Boxing has not evolved much.
Boxers today do not have to train for 15 round fights.
Gloves are larger, rings are bigger and the talent pool isn't like it used to be.
Boxing used to be the highest paying sport .
Not anymore.
In Mexico, drugs are taking away from the talent pool.
Paulie Malignaggi and Adrien Broner are former world champions. Broner has had 3 belts.
Both are marginally talented.
I'll take the greats of the 70's and 80's over the greats today.
Do you how much PROTECTION these guys wear ?!?!? Obviously an UNPROTECTED shot to the nuts will do a guy in.......
Uppercut to the nuts hurt.
But, Tomato Khan could have continued .
It's all mental. If a guy needs a time out or a way out, those shots are the perfect reason.
A protected area causing a guy to QUIT over getting hit on unprotected areas :lol1: !!!!!!!!!
And fight fans believe it !!!!
Well, he quit .
You are allowed 5 minutes .
He did not want to take his time even.
Virgil saw the lining too.
He know it was only a matter of time before Khan gets KO'd.
It is so freaking scary how Khan sticks his head up for a few seconds after he misses with combos on the inside.
OMG! I can't believe the announcers did not even elaborate on that . Good Lord. These guys need to watch Roberto Duran videos or something .
When you miss with combos inside., you don't freaking stand upright outside . Good Lord.
And Virgil Hunter is supposed to be a great trainer .
Unbelievable .
Khan has absolutely no defense inside . No idea about head placement . All earmuff defense .
It's not about what's standard. It's about what abel deserves. GGG realized that abel and his work dosen't deserve a 10 percent cut. Because ggg dosen't need him. He should be lucky to get 1/5 of his cut.
If you don't think he deserves 10%, don't hire him.
If you think he deserves less, then you don't think he's a good trainer.
Simple formula.
10% is standard.

Virgil even admits that Khan quit.
Good Lord, and the Tomato Khan apologists came out of the woodwork.
KHAN's OWN TRAINER SAID HE QUIT.
Khan gave him that I give up look.
That dog look .
Virgil will surely never work with Khan anymore b/c he has no upside anymore.
He can go back to fighting cooks .
You are the exact kind of nostalgia based idiot that I’m referring to. Joshua has 2019 modern training, nutrition, and 40lbs of muscle over Ali. Ali would get tossed around like a little kid. No athlete from 50 years ago in any sport is gonna beat a top 10 athlete today. You ignore basic science and physics and call me ignorant, lmfao.
You mean, athletes and their steroids today ?
Please. Pele' would still be as good as Ronaldo and Messi today.
Talk about the person, not the training or any of that sh8.
If Pele was 25 years old today, he wouldn't be as good as the top 10 soccer players today ? Please.
Duran in the 70's would still dominate the 135 today.
Jung Koo Chang would still go through the jr fly's today.
Ruben Olivares would still be knocking out bantams and feathers today.
You're talking smack about the old time greats while having a gif of fu.cking Kovalev posted in your sig. :dunno:
Fighters a good while back were in tremendous shape. Just to be a champion, for starters, you needed to have the endurance to go 15 rounds. Lots of those guys would be giddy to be fighting 10 and 12 round fights.
Azumah and Sal would win belts at 126-130 today EASILY.
Duran would easily beat the snot out of Lopez at 135. Easily.
Duran would go through 135 today like he'd go through a buffet plate.
I love Loma but , Duran would really get dirty on him for 15 rounds and beat him.
Lord, Tommy Hearns would make these 147'rs today pee in their pants.
Michael Spinks would beat Kovalev and Ward.
Canelo would get dizzy with Hagler's movements and combinations .
He is 29 now, 7 years as a pro
What do you think Hagler, Hearns, Leonard, Duran, Mayweather and Pacquiao achieved in their 7 years as a Pro
Hagler did not win a title in 7 years as a pro.
Neither did Duran. Both won their first title after 7+ pro years.
You're really not a historical expert as you profess to be .
Well, Kelly Brooke went after GGG.
Khan went after Canelo.
Gotta give Mikey props.
If he wins 5 rounds and goes the distance , he should top P4P.
If he wins, he's the fighter of the year unless he loses.
If he wins and fights Pac, that would be worth $50M each.
It’s easy to look like a KO artist when you are facing tomato cans and Joe blows. Mikey may have been outsized but he brought elite skills to the table and Spence couldnt figure him out enough to finish him. Like I mentioned in other thread, he lacks imagination and doesnt know how to create openings.. to him it’s more like you punch me once and ill punch you back so on and so forth like a simpleton. Can you imagine Mikey going 12 rds against Hearns or even Tito.
Spence is overrated. He is the boogeyman because the current state of boxing is fairly weak. Look at the title holders at WW..
When was the welterweight that strong after the 80's ?
Camacho survived against Tito .
I thought he was really slick tonight.
Great mix of body and head punches.
Man can fight.
I think he beats Bud and Pac.
He will need to go up to 154 next year.
2 more fights at 147 maybe, then go up.
It says that Canelo has travelled from 139-168 his whole career. Golovkin never went to 168. HBO could’ve easily facilitated a 168 title bout for GGG without Ward in the narrative. GGg would’ve still gotten paid like any other bout at 160. The reasons why HBO didn’t push GGG to 168 was because they wanted exposure at 160. GGG is an underachiever. The fact that GGG’s entire legacy revolves around Canelo Alvarez is retarded. GGG is a *****. Should’ve gone to DAZN. He’s going to get sparked out by Canelo. That Mexican ain’t playing in the 3rd meet.
Neither did Hagler and Monzon .
Monzon was the 70s, Hagler ended his caree when divisions changed.
That’s the worst cop out. Did Toney, BHop or RJJ stay at 160 because those you mentioned did? Stop it man.
Toney got fat . Was fat 168 even against RJJ.
Greatness in one division is not diminished by not going up.
In fact, it shows discipline. Most boxers eventually get too fat for their division.
