The amount of money that is in professional boxing is something that I have never seen before. This is really a golden age for earning record high purses for boxers with the app war going on.

No, they're risking their lives every time they fight.
They deserve even more money than what they're earning now.
If it was possible to make a 1-billion-dollar fight, I would support it 100%.
A 1 billion dollar fight? That only helps 2 fighters idk if you meant 1 billion dollars a fight but that's even worse.
If an event makes 20 Million & the people designated to pay the fighters have to consistently pay the fighters 30 million. Idc who you are that's eventually gonna catch up with you. I get what you're saying I understand the expression/idiom & wishful thinking. But it's not good business no matter how much you want it to be.
They get paid what the market dictates. And where there's loads of demand there's loads of money, then supply will follow.
It's cyclical. These guys are here at the right time.
They're getting overpaid.

Lmao give me 4 weeks of training and I could last 2 rounds with him!
I would just touch jab and run then clinch and hold for dear life for the first round and then stand my ground in the second just to say I went two rounds with ggg!
:lol1::lol1:
Maybe you can volunteer to take the place of his next opponent. GGG would look like a terminator again in putting you out of your misery within a round! You might last two if he is generous.

'Only a very small percentage make a million'.
If you are not in the big-time leagues, the level below probably make in the 50-100,000 grand range per fight. Still that is a doctors wage every single fight, but then again? You have to keep on winning.
David Price is a fighter who probably earns in that range up above, although I am aware that maybe David Price earned 300,000 when facing Audley Harrison
But I would say a large majority of boxers only make afew grand per fight..
I think it's very good for the sport. Why would paying good boxers lots of money be bad for the sport? Look at the giant money Mayweather made every fight and lots of today's fighters are more exciting and entertaining to watch than he ever was with no disrespect meant to his boxing skill. DAZN is making good fights happen that seemed unlikely to happen before.
DAZN looks promising, but we'll see. Haven't been too impressed with them so far. Canelo is going to be Canelo. He'll take garbage fights no one was asking for every other match. Joshua is fighting scrubs. And 97G looking like he's going to do a tune up, fight Canelo, then retire.
Usyk likely would toy with you for a round or so and then put you down to end your suffering!
I’m more of a middleweight so it would be surreal if I could be added to the list of tomato cans that ggg fights in his career for hiscomeback fight this year!
I already drafted an email proposal so I might just try my luck ! Lol

Seems like only yesterday when people were obsessed with whether Showtime made money on Floyd's deal. Now DAZN is overpaying every half decent fighter 8 figues and it's considered good for the sport.I think it's very good for the sport. Why would paying good boxers lots of money be bad for the sport? Boxers risk their lives so they deserve whatever they make. The better and more exciting they are and the harder they fight the more money they make in most cases.
Ima be honest. Floyd was only the most paid ppv fighter due to the other fighters people wanted him to fight not because of him. IE May vs Berto...flopped. Most paid to watch him lose to "their guy."
Nope. Haters were calling Floyd/Berto a flop until 97G fought on PPV for the first time and put things into perspective. Berto/Floyd was a huge success in terms of PPV sales. Any other fighters doing 400k fighting an easy touch? The drawing power of Floyd Mayweather is indisputable. It's not often you get to see one of the most dominant athletes of the 21st century.

US TV networks are trying to stop DAZN from getting in. Fox and ESPN are pumping cash in as boxing has become the first battle ground. None of the money going out adds up to the money coming in. Its the first skirmish of something thatll be much bigger.
That'd be hilarious. I'm a cruiser but I wouldn't want to be beat up by my boy Usyk for any kind of money. I'd fight their semi-cans tho!:lol1:
