The real reason why we don't see cross-promotional bouts anymore because of the lack of demand. The boxing industry is no longer a mainstream sport anymore and it has been on the decline. Many promoters prefer to keep bouts in house where they can keep a larger share and percentage of the revenue and profits rather than sharing them with a rival promoter.
For example, in the 1980s the boxing industry was blooming. Every promoter was working together in order to help make the best fights happen and maximize their profits because there was a huge demand and market for boxing in the U.S. at the time but not so much today because the market has shrunken and have gotten much smaller.
please explain to me how sergio was past it during his 2010-2012 run? he was past it during the best run of his career? this makes sense how? you were the one who used illogical...and i agree you are. was mosleys best run of his career the years before fighting floyd? no. hoyas? no. pacs? no. cottos? no. you don't know what past it means apparently. your fandom has turned your brain to mush
Huh?
The guy said Floyd doesn't fight opponents in their prime. In the same post he suggest Floyd shouldve fought Martinez instead of Canelo.
I initially said that was 2012 - my bad......Canelo was 2013
So tell me hater, 2012 or 2013
If Floyd beats a 37/38 year old Sergio Martinez would you give credit as a prime win?
Are you that ****in stupid that I had to type all this out?
WTF am I even talking to a hater like you anyway? Go **** off. You're beyond help.
Tank smiles but his fat lazy ass won't fit into 130 very soon. :)
Tank's gonna move to 135 but will still fight 126 and 130 kinds of fighters. Or maybe 133-134 so that he won't be considered a LW.
You dont see the irony in suggesting Floyd should have fought Martinez instead of Canelo in 2012 ........all while complaining Floyd chose "past-it" opponents?
Or are we going to act like Martinez was prime in 2012 to fit the narrative?
Stupid hater.

so sergio was in his prime when margarito knocked him out? thank you for giving margarito credit for that great win.
is it not true? hoya, mosley, pac, and cotto were all well past it imo. canelo was close to prime but drained so thats a big blemish. guys like corrales and castillo were prime. not sure if they were elite. not as elite as those other guys imo

I never said any of that but thanks for the assumption.
Floyd never fought any of his elite competition in their prime post de la Hoya
Before dlh he was trying fight a younger Shane and if I’m not mistaken winky Wright
But after he got money, he didn’t take too many risks
Lol he fought canelo at 154 when Martinez and Lara were around bro
lol look up the winky situation. its hilarious. winky agrees to all of floyds crazy demands even a rehydration clause and then floyd changes the money and kills the fight. sounds familiar huh...whenever his bluffs got called he didnt fight. he more than likely would have done the same to mosley or any good opponent if they had agreed to fight him but mosley looked soft there for sure.
no he didnt. he fought him at 152. when both guys were champs at 154. biggest bi-tch ove ever and these same fanboys bash pac because he was champ at 140 and fought cotto at 145. no self awareness
I never said any of that but thanks for the assumption.

Well, I can't argue with any of this. He did swerve Margarito. People forget that Margarito was legitimately scary at one point.
when they took his plaster away he stopped being "scary"... overnight
Didn't Shane in his prime refuse to fight Floyd, including telling Larry Merchant he couldn't fight him because of a problem with his tooth?
Not being honest about the times boxers refused to fight Floyd makes you look petty.
No matter how much you may despise Floyd or how little you think of him you should at least be honest about how things really went down.

Youre not lying, Floyd came back from retirement and fought Marquez then an old ass Mosley.
a lot of it was luck too tho, he fought Mosley after he beat up margs, which made that fight look better than it really was.
unlike your avatar ( I never understood the hate ward got considered he fought everybody he could)

he wasn't prime throughout, but he was very "well preserved," to quote the fellowship of the ring.
a lot went into that, mostly positive. he preserved his body outside of the ring with no bad habits. he was the best defensive fighter ever and he took hardly any punishment in most of his wins. but he also picked his opponents carefully and avoided fights or put them off. he retired for a period in time. did not fight pacquiao or cotto in their primes when the fights could have been made. yeah, it made a lot more money for everybody doing it his way. but it's just a fact that the pacquiao fight took place after manny had been knocked out by marquez, and cotto had taken two career changing beatings and was nowhere near the fighter he was pior to antonio margarito. didn't fight paul williams, didn't fight margarito, because they were too tall, their chins were too good

all your post proves is that you don't look into things or even care to.
pacquiao ducks floyd how? the same way floyd ducks pacquiao? by demanding a blood test? offering 40 million bucks
cotto floyd left bob arum and briefly retired during cotto's prime.
if you were watching boxing at the time you'd know that bob arum offered floyd an INSANE amout of money in teh context of boxing at the time and also floyd's career, 8 million f#cking dollars, to fight antonio margarito. off of that margarito got a reputation as being the most avoided man in boxing, because floyd avoided the fight! really! it was a career high payday and the offer is super well documented.
you're just disilusioned if you think floyd and haymon didn't position his career for money. in the process he cemented one of the best legacies ever! but that doesn't negate the fact that the guy did not fight prime competition at welterweight and that the best names on his resume at the weight were all over the hill.
Pacquiao backing out and rejecting the biggest fight of his career because of drug testing is a DUCK on his end. :lol1:
His promoter coming up with more excuses as the years went on just proves my point even more. Only casuals, pactrds and floyd haters like to ignore the truth about this though.
:)
Cotto and his team saying Cotto wasn't ready to face floyd when they were both at 140 isn't floyd's fault. That is all on cotto
:)
Oh and since you brought up Margarito. Lets not forget the fact that Arum wouldn't promise the de la hoya fight, which promoted floyd to leave top rank. Who was Margarito signed to? You guessed it top rank.
It's also funny how you guys rewrite history. Baldomir was supposedly the guy Floyd was "ducking" and was considered the welterweight champion. But once floyd beat him margatirto became the guy floyd was ducking. This is the truth
:) Next time try harder

Lol. Stupid hater. Do you read your own post?
So what was 40 million to pacquiao?
Or better yet the original 50/50 offer?
But Floyd is supposed to turn down the highest grossing fight of all time with Oscar for 8 million?
Stfu
Cotto and pacquiao both rejected fights with mayweather.
So that just disproves everything you said.
all your post proves is that you don't look into things or even care to.
