I get that people don't like Alexander on these forums but don't act like Matt was dominating that night it was a real close fight and not an Alexander vs Kotelnik type of a fight be real bro
I think he's more questioning how you scored it a draw. Matthysse had a 10-8 round so if it was 5 rounds a piece he would of won by 1 point & if you gave Alexander 6 rounds he wins by 1 point. How did you end up scoring it a draw? Did you give Matthysse only 4 rounds but 2 of those 10-8 on your scorecard?
I think that is my first green K? Thank you Sir. I am a big Mayweather fan, big Pac fan as well, in fact I respect anybody willing to get in the ring. I don't get all the hate with Mayweather, it's at times like he can do no right. Even if he fought & beat Pac, Martinez etc they'll always be hate saying he ducked somebody. Like he said praise him now, not when he is gone. The guy IMO is leagues ahead of anybody that has ever lived skill-wise but I suppose that is just my opinion.
I know its your opinion and Floyd is incredibly talented but no, he is not levels above fighters of the past and guys like Robinson/Leonard/Ali/Whittaker etc. will always be seen as better than him by the majority. Still good on ya for having an opinion.
Onto Khan, in comparison to Floyd of course he loses but there's no shame in not being better than Floyd when he's one of the best boxers of the last 10 years. He's got a decent resume against a variety of styles so far and he's improving with each outing when he's relaxed and not trying to force anything (McCloskey performace). If he were to face Floyd he'd pose some problems for him I think, his speed coupled with his jab that he likes to double up/his activity along with decent use of footwork to create angles means he could take maybe 2/3 rounds off Floyd before he adjusts. Floyd by 9 rounds to 3.
No. Ortiz won a ww championship his 1st fight at the weight. You gotta be fair and give him the credit he deserves.
Khan's title fight against was his first at LWW aswell.
Ortiz definitely has a power/strength advantage over Khan although he can be outboxed as shown by Peterson and Khan is better fighter than Peterson. Also how would victo cope with an oppenent who isnt going to be laying on the ropes but pumping a jab in his face constantly as he tries to get inside.
Its an interesting style matchup but before Khan fights at 147 I wouldnt make a firm predicition.
From the North east of England, have never heard anything bad about Khan up here, one of my favourite fighters and really havent come across any racial divides in all my time living here.
Although among the elder generation with a working class background there can be little glimpses of distrust still but if I've brought up Amir Khan to the ones that follow boxing they like his style and watch his fights in the hope that he continues winning.
Randall Bailey fights on the Berto undercard on October 3rd, would be a good fight at short notice & give Maidana a 147 debut (although I doubt HBO would budget for it).
Anyone else notice how all the actual fighters say Mayweather beats Pacquiao yet the so called experts and biased media insist on riding Pac's nuts?
Bit of a generalisation that isnt it, when they did predicitions for Haye-Klitschko in the Ring the only people who picked Haye were active fighters, all the experts picked Wlad. Think it can go both ways, there's plenty of experts who pick Floyd over Pac (Bill Detloff for one I know).
Khan won fair and square, but don't you think Maidana could have won round 3, 6 ,7, 10, 11 and 12?, i know some of those rounds are close but you really could give Maidana some of those rounds, at least 5 of them. I hate when people say Khan only lost the 10th round.
I like Khan but Maidana definitely won rounds 6/7/10/12.
3 & 11 are the ones which are a bit contentious, Khan easily outboxed Maidana in the 3rd (25 punches to chino's 14) but Maidana landed 2 big rights. In the 11th maidana landed more but the most effective shots in that round were Khan's uppercut and his 1/2 just after. If you give the 3rd to Maidana then really you should stick to your guns & give the Khan the 11th or vice versa depending on what you like (volume vs. effectiveness).
I understand that if you cand land a Mayweather/Pacquiao fight then a Khan fight becomes a backseat option, however Floyd is facing Ortiz, Pacquaio against marquez and there are rumours of the May date for Flody/Pac to fight.
If that occurs it leaves Bradley waiting round for nearly 2 years for this money fight. Although saying all this he probably is Bob's choice of opponent for a Pac fight in early 2012 if floyd/pac doesnt come off again.
Fana was stripped, wasn't he? Mendez-Salgado will be for the vacant IBF 130 belt as far as I know.
Regardless, I think Burns "being the best super featherweight" is debatable.
Fana & Burns are 1 & 2 in the Ring rankings though so it a fight between them would be for the lineal title. Nice to think burns is more interested in a lineal title than an alphabeat title unification.
Good solid fight, would of preferred to see him face the winner of Matthyse-Morales for another belt but it is a quick turnaround for those two fight at the start of December I guess.
