I was curious about this because I live up north in lancashire and a lot of people around here are not keen on him because of his race. Generally around this parts a lot of white people do not like asian people. It is rife in these parts and I was quite shocked when I discovered this when I first moved to the north from the south. I was wandering if people from other regions of the UK could tell me what the generally feeling about him as a fighter is in their region?
The third world country **** is valid, but you can't say it's right that ethnic minorities are allowed to celebrate their religion in schools whereas christians are denied the right to do so in some cases as it may be deemed offensive.
Yet the opposite some times happens and the roles are reversed. Are u just as insulted when a british Muslim isnt allowed to pray to their God or wear their tradition clothing?
Britain is still predominately Christian, but now its also Muslim, Hindu etc. U cant say Britain is Christian. Because its simply not true now. There was a time Christianity hadnt reached us. So things change.
So if you care about british culture, u have to care about the ethnic minorities rights also.
And you condone this? Violence breads more violence. Why should I and millions of other peace loving English citizen feel intimidated by Asian/ Muslim youths who are now going on the offensive.
I never said i condone it. Im saying its wrong both ways. But i can understand why asian gangs have formed. Whereas when asians were being beaten, it was purley because they were asian.
If you read all of my posts you will have realised that I have condemned Brits who expect people from other countries to cater for their English speaking needs. I am fully aware that asians were treated like **** (although I wasn't alive) and I agree that it was totally unnacceptable. What many people object to (many of whom aren't at all racist) is the fact that they expect us to be fine with their culture but they are not fine with ours. There are muslim parents who register complaints about school because the school celebrates Christmas and sometimes schools stop because of this. It is total BS. As I mentioned earlier, asians are often allowed to wear religious items in schools but Christians sometimes are not.
Its political correctness gone mad, but also media sensationalism.
Im not sure if it was you who said it was rude for Asians to speak their own language in public. Which i find insane. Its their language. They are talking to each other. Its none of anyone elses business what they are saying.
I wouldnt ask a scouser to speak proper English on a bus because i cant understand a thing he says.
What about whispering? Is that also insulting?
I don't think we are going to agree on the matter but it doesn't matter. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. I have to go now. This thread has got way out of hand and is nothing to do with boxing now! I'm out.
I win, /thread
Well it's an obvious waste of time and money, they could instead be doing something positive. Obviously children who don't have christian beliefs will find it offensive that they have to take part in something that they dont believe in. If you want to put up decorations do it outside school as it's not needed in school lets be honest!

Refer to my edited post. I won't argue I'm just saying that it has always been a bit of fun. Whether the country is religious anymore or not is besides the point. Many children enjoyed celebrating Christmas at school whether they were religious or not but now it isn't allowed? Give me a break. Nobody is asking people to believe Christianity but it is something that should not be taken away.

If christian children get to put up decorations "for fun" then muslim, sikhs or jews should have the right to put up decorations "for fun" during eid, Yom kippur, diwali or wateva.
Hardly a christian country anymore, Church had lost more than one in ten of its regular worshippers between 1996 and 2006, with a fall from more than one million to 880,000. I am not asking for Eid holidays i was simply referring that christians still have the rights to celebrate christmas.........

Please not that I am an atheist and I still think its BS.
Well it's a Christian country and it is what has been done for a long time. We shouldn't have to adapt to accomodate others. If you want to live here, play by the rules.

A Bishop said "that the fall in church marriages and baptisms revealed that Britain was no longer a Christian nation."
Are you for real? Why do you need to celebrate christmas, eid or wateva in SCHOOLS??????? WHY??????? Celebrate it in your own time. Everybody has a month of holiday to celebrate christmas, but I dont see a month of holiday to celebrate Eid ?????

It is something kids have enjoyed at school for years. When I was at primary school we used to make decorations for Christmas - everyone loved it it was fun. Now that has been abolished to cater for the religious views of other faiths living in a Christian country. I don't care what you think, I think it is wrong and you will never change my opinion on that.
What I'm trying to say why would he pay attention to the haters, they are always going to be there and if you pay mind to them they will drive you crazy cause you will never be able to please them
Oh!, yeah, agree.
They have Churches in Pakistan but not to the extent of the amount of Mosques in Britain.
Show me in my posts where I have tried to justify any violence or racism to Asians????
Also, stop the name calling and debate like an Adult.
Actually there are as many churches in pakistan as there are mosques in england.
Khan's talent and hardwork at the end of the day. HE has got himself to the point where he is, he put himself where he is.
Life is what you make out, you cant crucify him for what he makes based on that.

Yes they do and also the clothing and turbans.
If we can accept that in our country, why is it that if we went over to Pakistan and preached Christianity or built one of our churches, we'd be stoned to death or stabbed??
It's double standards like these that rile people up in Britain.
Your as ignorant as they come ! There are lots of churches in pakistan!!!!!!
Why would he? There is enough ppl that like him and he is making millions in the process.

That's what happens when people like Froghead99 start posting.
I dont have a problem with American's, but I aint gonna sit back and listen to that mofo bash my country and make out America are all sweetness light, especially when they have their own race issues, now the fact he thinks he has sufficient knowledge to be commenting on stuff he knows nothing about, is just as infuriating, like how he doesn't even live here, yet feels more equipped to be commenting on current affairs than people who live here.
I could not write that anymore eloquently than yourself. :biggthump
The TS simply asked why Khan isn't revered in Britain, yet Frog, who is not British, is trying to answer the question.
Khan has been quite patient/reserved about the hate imo. Considering how many people dislike Khan, it would be easy for him to develop a persecution personality.
Why would he? There is enough ppl that like him and he is making millions in the process.
