Sure the kids improved under Roach & he is maturing nicely but I can't help but think this kid is so damn overrated.
Forget him being dropped by cans & his loss to a Columbian farmer.
Tell me why he is so highly praised when realistically he has beaten nothing but hasbins and midgets.
He beat barrera's ghost, Salita? I mean who the ****? The guy was like 30-0 & barely top 100 lol
Then who was there? The feather fisted Paulie Malignaggi, Paulies a very good boxer but has no power what so ever but still he out-boxed Paulie and did a great job, so I have to give him credit there.
Then we have Maidana, tough as ****, power is very overrated and he is 1-D, gave Khan hell in there in a great fight which realistically Khan was meant to win with ease (Maidana was a 5-1 underdog)
McCloskey, not exactly bad, tricky southpaw with a little bit of pop, though Khan won every round he looked sloppy as hell doing so and the stoppage was b/s
Judah's ghost.
What is so great about his CV? People actually on here give him a chance against Mayweather? Please STFU!
I can't believe how easy he has had it, perfect timing IMO.
He goes to 147 he is history. I think he would probably beat Bradley if I am honest but IMO the light-welter division is ****ry, so much talent but nothing I mean why isn't Joan Guzman fighting? That boy has bags of talent! But his weight issues and inactivity and ridiculous.
Matthysse has been robbed IMO twice, nobody gives a **** about Alexander, Khan won't rematch Maidana, Alvarado I am undecided upon, nobody cares about Peterson though I personally feel his style would give Khan absolute hell. Soto is high risk-low reward. Morales is shot, Holts done & I am not buying his comeback b/s
The divisions bollocks, Khan should go to 147 and get murdered.
Ortiz after Mayweather stuffs him or maybe Aydin, Brook, Berto, Jones, Bailey or Senchenko would be a great start but I see most of them K.O'ing him
:peeright:
The only reasons they peaked at those times were prob cuz of injuries, or they just stopped training like they use to. Naturally they would not peak until late 20s, early 30s. Ali's peak was like 25, but thats cuz he couldnt fight for 3 years after that, but naturally it would of been like 29.
Athletes generally should peak mid to late 20s but everyone is different. Some start earlier, some start later, sometimes they have some hard fights that affect them physically or mentally. Others just plateau at a certain age or level and can't improve anymore.
Meldrick Taylor peaked at around 21-23, his last real good performance was at 24.
Wilfred Benitez peaked before he was 24.
Mike Tyson peaked at 21.
Donald Curry peaked at 23-24.
Pipino Cuevas peaked in his early 20s, arguably his late teens, and started going downhill at 22.
Fernando Vargas peaked at 22.
Sugar Ray Leonard's peak years were 23-25.
Davey Moore peaked at 23.
It's very easy actually to find examples of fighters peaking at 24 or younger.

lol AT THIS RETARD, IVE NEVER HEARD OF A FIGHTER PEAKING AT 24:bottle:

He's a good fighter, but still has much improving to do. I liked the way he looked against Zab because he seemed more fluid, less robotic, and seemed to be adding some wrinkles to his game. I won't get over excited because it is a declined version of Zab after all, who was an underachiever to begin with.
I originally expected him to be nothing more than a decent champ/titlist. He may end up being better than that, but I still don't expect greatness out of him. Yes, he has physical gifts, but I've seen a lot of physically talented fighters. There's just so much he needs to improve in the areas of in-fighting, midrange, ring fluidity, punching technique and accuracy, footwork, etc...
Do you realise that boxers who weight drain do lose punch taking ability?
Khan at 135 got dropped by a guy with 5 ko's.
Khan at 140 hasn't been dropped yet.
Most boxers don't eat from Tuesday and drink from Thursday. Not good for your body at all.
Dehydration even kills brain cells Which you never get back!
His resume has Kotelnik, Maidana, Paulie and Judah. Fringe guys like Mccklowskey and Salita are ok, but tune ups.
I am not saying they are great, but a prime age is usually 28. If he can continue to improve and add to his already great body for boxing, he can be good to great. Range, speed and height are all ideals in boxing.
He already learnt to roll shots, hold when hurt, right lead, left hook timed to other guys jab, nice combinations, slightly better guard and a high guard. His jab was also developed by Roach and it's damn good.
He isn't on Mayweather level or PAC, but no one is. However he would be hard for any fighter to beat.
Also pre Maidana it was a wide ud or Maidana ko people said. People said Khan wouldn't take one punch...
Of course I do but he I don't understand how a guy that has been that big all his life, well smaller actually and not killing himself to make weight could possibly be weight drained and the weight makes no difference to me personally, I think it's more to do with him improving his defence. I am not sure that makes sense but what I mean is he isn't having to cut say 20lbs to make weight. Though I believe he has looked more steady but who has hit him really apart from Maidana? who should of really finished him as he was out on his feet.
Exactly. Not being able to beat Pacquiao or Mayweather is not something to be ashamed of, they are two of the greatest fighters ever. Khan is really good, and should be recognized as such.
Your signature is amazing
Khan's resume is as good as it can be in this stage of his career. He has made it pretty clear he wants to fight Bradley to unify the division further, so at least he is trying to make the best bouts for the sport at 140.
Khan is good but he isn't good enough to beat pacquiao or mayweather at this stage in his career. There is nothing to be ashamed of that because both pacquiao and mayweather are top25 ATG who nobody else can beat either. But who knows how good Khan will be by the time he reaches his prime at around 28-30 years of age. The fact that Khan at the tender age of 24 is being mentioned as an opponent for either pacquiao or mayweather is a tremendous complement. It just shows how far he has come in such a short amount of time under the tutelage of roach. I also believe we will see the best of khan at the weight 147-154, where he can fully fill out.

Great post IMO and if I knew how to give you a green K I would! I think Matthysse would give Khan hell. He has been robbed twice but that guy is impressive IMO. He may lack technically but his non stop pressure, power & granite chin is friggin scary! But I guess the money wouldn't be there after he has been robbed :(
To give Green K:
Go to the post of the person who you want to give Green K too and then click on karma, which will be on the bottom right of the post. The click add reputation, add some comments if you want aswell
I don't know if you've noticed, but Khan has been quite convincingly beating some good competition lately. He's getting close to proving he is a great fighter.
Maidana almost got the Job done maybe if he would of started earlier throwing bombs away he would of got that Ko. Any Pressure fighter that knows how to cut the ring maybe a Brandon Rios or Ortiz will Ko his overrated ass ( This is not the Amateurs )
Lets be real guys the moment he faces a good pressure and effective brawler in how to cut the ring , That's when we are really going to see what he is made out of ,and to me and im sure others looking at the Maidhana fight makes you see hes not this guy they make him out to be. Sure hes fast but he can't handle pressure, How can guys even say he has a good resume when he fighting old washed up Older legends, Barrera, Judah, Malinaggi a guy that lost to Hatton and Cotto. I always rag on Saul Alvarez because they put Bums against him but I don't see much difference in the Opposition that Khan is facing, What happened to the Rematch with Prescott? Why all of a sudden hes too good for Bredis? Now he wants to face Morales ? What a Warrior!, He is nowhere Mayweathers League or Pacquiao , He will never beat Mayweather or give any kind of trouble to Maweather, I see Money May dominating thats it. Money May is Excellent Superb. Khan is Ok

i think refinement is all that is needed with khan at this point.... and more experience at the top level.
he has the skills, he has the team, he ha the top sparring and training, and so far he has the desire.....
refinement in his style and skills coupled with more experience, khan can and will just might be THAT good......
i honestly think that it was a weight issue pertaining to his chin..... same with ortiz..
when your body is depleted of water and not properly hydrated,it's about equal to fighting while having the flu, your body aches, punches are going to have a bigger effect on you......
now that he's gone up in weight, he's handled shots fine..... minus getting hit with any shot that would hurt anyone in the game, khan has held up nicely.....
he has it all right now,it's his to lose and fvck up...........
Thank you!
Finally someone who agrees that moving up in weight will help his chin and him in general

I think that is my first green K? Thank you Sir. I am a big Mayweather fan, big Pac fan as well, in fact I respect anybody willing to get in the ring. I don't get all the hate with Mayweather, it's at times like he can do no right. Even if he fought & beat Pac, Martinez etc they'll always be hate saying he ducked somebody. Like he said praise him now, not when he is gone. The guy IMO is leagues ahead of anybody that has ever lived skill-wise but I suppose that is just my opinion.
I know its your opinion and Floyd is incredibly talented but no, he is not levels above fighters of the past and guys like Robinson/Leonard/Ali/Whittaker etc. will always be seen as better than him by the majority. Still good on ya for having an opinion.
Onto Khan, in comparison to Floyd of course he loses but there's no shame in not being better than Floyd when he's one of the best boxers of the last 10 years. He's got a decent resume against a variety of styles so far and he's improving with each outing when he's relaxed and not trying to force anything (McCloskey performace). If he were to face Floyd he'd pose some problems for him I think, his speed coupled with his jab that he likes to double up/his activity along with decent use of footwork to create angles means he could take maybe 2/3 rounds off Floyd before he adjusts. Floyd by 9 rounds to 3.

You do know Maidana made Floyds next opponent cry and quit like a ***** and also after the Antillon fight the "warrior" Rios was calling out Barrera.
