Hearn failed as a promoter big time. He waited too long to milk the Wilder/Fury fights and his fighter lost. Now Joshua has to build himself to make those fights big time again. He'd have to take his game to another level.
So what. That's what boxing's all about. You get knocked down, you get knocked out, you get back up again and try to fix the mistakes and get redemption. I'm tired of all these modern boxing fan/clowns who think one loss means you're a bum, always were a bum and will never recover. This is the test of a boxer. Let's see how resilient Joshua is and how he comes back from a devastating loss. This is yet to be seen.
One loss to a fat tomato can does mean you're a bum.
Its crazy when a fight like Wilder vs Fury overshadows even GGG vs Canelo or Povetkin vs Joshua.
Too much hype too soon I think for Wilder vs Fury. It will die down before being built back up again. I'm actually sick of debating it already.
GGG vs Canelo is overshadowed because people are expecting another decision with more weird scorecards.
Wilder has brought excitement back to boxing with his ruthless trash talk. And Fury is obviously one of the best trash talkers of all time.
Wlad was also 40+ lol. I guess age doesn't matter anymore in boxing? Guess GGG at 26 was the same as GGG at 36, so was Wlad at 30 just as good as Wlad at 40. :pat:
If GGG was as good as you all think he is. The fight shouldn't have even been close, leave no doubt. But of course the most feared middleweight barley edged decisions vs Jacobs and Canelo.
This is true. Canelo showed heart and was the smaller guy too. But why does it sound like you're just a GGG-hater? You mad about something?
I'd never thought I'd see Canelo back him up, much less the whole fight.
Yeah...GGG was hanging on the ropes like Ali against Foreman all night... :pat:
These trolls stay up this late? :feedback:
On a side bar: after Manny beats Floyd in December are people going to use the age excuse that they are complaining that people are using for GGG now? JW...
Canelo IS a great fighter...he proved it tonight - man phukk anybody who had Borat winning this fight he fought like a straight bich.
Canelo proved he's a great fighter even without the TAINED MEXICAN MEAT! :friday::beerchug:
Look fan boys are such retards, the ones that hate GGG will say Canelo won no matter what as long as he doesn't get KO'd.
Saunders is totally correct here. My money is on CANELO not because I think he's going to actually win, but I know he won't get knocked out, so he will get the win on the scorecards.
Povetkin has a dad bod, but I actually think this might be a tougher fight than Wilder because Povetkin will not be emotional and reckless like Wilder would be and open himself up to get knocked out.
I think Povetkin grinds out the fight, and Joshua win a UD.
And Hearn couldn't promote Joshua vs. Povetkin without talking about Wilder and Fury! Just part of the game!
And Floyd couldn't promote any fight he had without invoking Pacquiao's name. That's how the game works :sad6:
Much props to Tony for keeping it classy but he didn't beat Charlo last night.
He was Fighting to survive, not to win. That's not how you beat a world champion.
He outboxed him most of the rounds. Last time I checked that's how you win. Kind of funny how fan boys all of sudden like the ineffective aggressors lol. Probably the same type of fan boy who said Lara exposed Canelo too. :pat:
No ****! Fury is the most talented heavyweight since Ali as far as pure boxing ability. Fury schooled Wilder in about 9 out of the 12 rounds. It will be more clear in a rematch. Joshua is much more hitable and has a much lower rate of movement and work rate.
At 50 PAC should still be able to beat ALGIERI,CLOTTEY,RIOS,MATYSEE. Lol.Only PAC could get away with fighting those guys.
Pretty sure Crawford in his PRIME is fighting guys worse than you just mentioned and is turning 32 soon. :pat:
Man, you're a Pac-hating idiot, aren't you lol? :pat:
Fury gave Wilder a boxing lesson plain and simple and 2 knock downs doesn't overcome losing 9 rounds. Everyone saw the bad decision coming. The one judge giving Wilder the first four rounds - I hope him and his family die in a horrific accident caused by a natural disaster.
Wilder was so broken after the fight he said that he needs to keep the fight in the US. Of course he does.
bruh even Jim Lampley hated that fight. go listen to his commentary. is he a casual newb? that fight was on par with Chris Byrd vs DaVaryll Williamson. go watch that one you'll probably think its a sweet science masterpiece as well.
Jim Lampley - you mean the guy who never criticizes boring Floyd, now has an opinion on the entertainment value of a Heavyweight fight in which the guy losing the fight hadn't lost in more than a decade? Lampley wants to see Gatti-Ward. That's not my style. This isn't a ****ing movie.
Wilder came light for this fight. Is he going to try and show his boxing skills, as he did in the first Stiverne fight? Outjabbing the jabber?
More intrigue...
I hope he does that. Fury is a master at taking away the jab.
Sounds like Wilder is already concerned with Fury making it a boring fight and completely neutralizing the windmill attack. Wilder is getting scared that Fury might just box his ears off for 12 rounds.
EuroFan, you should know that in 2013 HW contender Magomed Abdusalamov was permanently brain damaged by Mike Perez. Mago's wife was awarded a fortune in her lawsuit against the NYSAC, as consequence to this tragedy, all fighters in combat that are suspected of suffering a concussion during battle are checked during breaks much more carefully now.
To suggest any bias is ridiculous, Wilder-Ortiz had us all at the edge of our seats, starting from round two, when the ref missed Ortiz getting dropped.

They should have just stopped the fight at that point if that was the case.
Why is Fury vs Klitschko talked about as some sort of masterpiece. it's easily in the top five of most unwatchable fights of the last 30 years.
Only a casual newb would think Fury's performance in that fight was boring. Real boxing fans appreciate what happened that night. You're not a boxing fan. You're a 90s rap fan. Beat it.
Finkle admitted that Wilder was ducking Wlad and would continue to duck Wlad EVEN AFTER THE STIVERNE WIN! Wilder was already 33-0 and about 30 years old then. Wilder only took this fight with Fury because Fury had been inactive and essentially a recovering drug addict and alcoholic suffering from depression and anxiety. The plot twist will happen tonight if Fury has anything left. If Fury takes this fight seriously, he can just completely outbox Wilder over 12 rounds.
Hey, look on the bright side, Fury vs Joshua would be a much more entertaining build up than Wilder-Joshua anyway.
