Mexico's Saul "Canelo" Alvarez ended Gennady Golovkin's unbeaten reign as unified middleweight champion here Saturday, battling to victory by majority decision in a pulsating rematch. Alvarez showed skill and durability to outlast Golovkin in another attritional contest between the two evenly-matched rivals at the T-Mobile Arena, one year after they had fought to a controversial draw at the same venue. I thought canelo clearly lost the fight. He was flat footed, had ok stamina, and wasn’t aggressive enough. Most of his shots were blocked as well. In fact, he can’t fight on the move which is why golovkin kept turning him around in a circle. It is what it is, though. Great fight. Vegas is the Mecca of corruption.
Yup suspicions confirmed, you're a ****
Look at all the different layers and dimensions canelo showed in 2 fights! Landed a total array of punches in BOTH fights. Whooped GGG on his back foot you complained so whooped him this time on the front foot. Meanwhile GGG threw but had insane 500 miss rate in the first fight. You claimed it was because of running. He missed over 600 times the second fight and can't land anything but jabs in both fights while his face looks worse each time. Canelo is just better. GGG no defense too slow and scared to commit to the body. Canelo does want he wanted in both fights and GGG still making excuses for what he can't do.
Haven't seen your post in a while but this sums things up nicely. Alvarez is simply the better fighter. More dimensions to his game, and more importantly, more poise and grit as a fighter.

Yet he landed more power punches and made his face look like it was a hit with a baseball bat. Interesting take. I guess Canelo did that to his face by spinning in circles on his cement feet. All while landing the harder shots, AGAIN.
I agree with the message in this post, but I just wanted to say:
1. I think Canelo is a great fighter. Not atg top 10 MW or anything, but great nonetheless.
2. GGG has been grossly overrated but I do think he's a damn good fighter.
3. Munguia and Lemiuex are both incredibly limited lol The difference is one is 21 and the other is just garbage.
You made 3 excellent points. I have to agree.
Props to Canelo, he showed me something last night and I think he’s going to go onto even greater things. He’s a versatile fighter and he changed styles to win.
He’s approaching all time top 50 status.
I said a few days ago, all Canelo needed to do was up his output and he would win the fight. Well, he did better than I thought he would. Canelo still gassed around the 8th round but he continued to bring the fight to Golovkin.
Canelo is not a great fighter but he's better than Golovkin. He should've won the first fight but he gave it a way. Golovkin should've stopped Canelo in the first fight but he fought cautiously. He should've lost to Jacobs but he got a gift to set up this fight.
Golovkin is not as good as his fans think he is but in this era of boxing he was considered an ATG. We also saw two other severely limited boxers get KO stoppages last night and everyone acted like they were something special.
I'm glad Canelo finally ended the Golovkin hype train.

2 rounds??? Holy SHT Change your last name to BYRD.
Ye 2 rounds up, the same as a lot of well seasoned and respected people in the sport. It’s not that out there. Chill your bad self. Was a great fight that could of gone either way ffs. It’s just my opinion lol

The only thing shown here was that
GGG got robbed again & it seems like Oscar has done a $uperb job on making sure the judges give Canelo a few rounds vefore the fight even starts
You are a very good fighter, Canelo, not great. The one time you fought a REAL great fighter, you hardly won a round.
I want to thank you so much, nevertheless, for getting us rid of this hypejob once and for all.
Hopefully that's the end of Golovkin and his mostly fake fans.
Good riddance!
Canelo fought to win. Learned from the first fight. Stood toe to toe, didn’t stay on the ropes. Took some shots to give some.
BBB side looked confused, frustrated and surprised his big shots weren’t putting Canelo down.
Canelo deserves the decision. He forced the pace and didn’t let up.

Most of Canelo's shots were blocked by Golovkin's face. Take a good look at each man's face and tell me he looks like a winner. Canelo landed more power shots and forced GGG onto his heels throughout. Now his fans want the big talking power puncher to get more credit for jabs over power shots scored. The more Golovkin's followers whine the more emphatic Canelo's win becomes.
Max and Roy were on Canelos sack from round 1. All this BS about the "story of the fight" kellerman kept talkin. They said g was gassed by the 3rd yet he outthrew Canelo ever round lol. 7-5 G or a draw.
It's crazy Canelo at his peak goes life and death with G who's certainly no longer at his best. Shows how good G really is. I expect a 3rd fight or G retires.
Overall it was a good fight not mad at Canelo he fought well i just think they switched roles and G did better. G was never in trouble Canelo was. That's what edge it for GGG for me.
You're just bitter for your guy GGG losing a close fight. Canelo bullied the bully, and DID have GGG sucking air and nearly dropped from all those excellent body shots he was launching.

Exactly.
The body work of Canelo was totally awesome in this fight.
Yep, those thudding body shots were a thing of beauty. All. Night. Long. Had GGG madly sucking air at a few points there. Yes, GGG did grab himself and pulled away from getting KOd, gotta give the man credit for that, but Canelo definitely showed the bully what it was like to be bullied himself. Great fight.

Funny how you don't mention GGG's body shots: SEVEN. Last fight: EIGHT. You know... BODY SHOTS. The thing that WOULD have made it a totally different fight. If GGG is so great, WTF was he thinking? Your analysis is obviously biased, and no it wasn't corruption. It was a close fight. A fight where both guys showed serious talent, and both showed they have a set. A fight where both were exhausted in the last round. Try to keep up.
