AJ clearly quit against Ruiz, his Brit-Quit side came out in that one.
Habit from kneeling to the queen

Clown hasn't even faced a legit boxer, never mind a bum boxer, so how could he be called a boxer?
Do you consider the cans and part time Uber drivers so many champs pad on their resumes on their way up to be legit boxers? If someone is able to get a boxing license what more is needed before they are considered boxers?
Very nice car collection. It's nice to have money.
Good on Ginger.

Does anyone miss the 70s era HWs who actually looked like fit athletes?

I'd love that news to be true, but I highly doubt it's a fight that would end up anywhere in the US due to both guys being UK guys, the time zone requirements that you need to have this fight work within to get all the PPV buys it'll get in the UK & the site fee others would offer as a one time event for such a impactful fight.
I suspect Eddie & Tyson are just good at hype & social media is why they posted the stadium instead of a picture of the mgm lion.
Aren't UK PPV prices cheap compared to the US? That might give the edge to having it in US primetime where you would get a fair amount of people paying $80 for the PPV.
Isn't Fury associated with ESPN too, they can get a big buildup on the network.
I think part of it is the migration of athletes to the NFL and NBA but it's not all of it. It's a catch-22 however there are no Mike Tyson's around for young potential American boxers to be inspired by or motivated by so there are no future Mike Tyson's.
Mike Tyson was at least the LeBron James or Tom Brady at his peak popularity wise, there are no American boxers who fit that mold now. There are no top American talents to inspire the younger generation. I think Wilder just threw away whatever chance he to be that the last year+.
Fighters fight, not just talk about it or play act in movies.
Bruce has likely inspired millions to take up martial arts as well as creating a philosophy that helped give rise to modern MMA, Jake Paul inspires 12 year olds on Tik Tok, maybe you're one of them fair play.
This is true, but at the same time it doesnt change the fact that Jake would have probably beat his ass.
And in a street fight/MMA fight Ben Askren would have dumped Paul on his head and went to town on him.
The official roster of Boxers they have the rights to so far, not that bad actually. Let's hope they can get more names:

When did you last see a card like that in boxing?
Never, I don't think Boxing ever focused on the cards outside the main fright of the night. Even Ali's mega fights that had a billion viewers had crap fighters on the undercards look it up.
He did inspire millions. But he did it by looking cool in fake fights in the movies. He made partial arts trendy and all the posers showed up. It was straight up style over substance. You ever seen Bruce Lee in a real fight? What part of posing and making ridiculous sounds after your punches has anything to do with mma? Do you really think he’s going to knock you across the room with his one inch punch? Like that has anything to do with anything in a real fight. What was his philosophy that gave rise to modern mma? “Be Like Water?” Sure that sounds deep, great tag line, but what the hell does that even mean? Just flow? Hands down and just dodge every attack? What boxer or mma fighter represents “Be like Water” the most right now then? Did he even have any teachings that had to do with taking a fight to the ground? That’s part of modern mma right? He’s a likeable guy, smart too I’m sure. He has more experience looking cool in aviators than real fights.
"Be like Water" is really the condensed slogan version of Jeet Kune Do which was the philosophy he developed. He did incorporate some forms of grappling into his films.
His ideas which seem common now were unique at the time, to not just focus on one style of combat but familiarize yourself with multiple, something that is a main facet of MMA.
Either way OPs post is dumb, as others have mentioned there was no MMA back in the 60s and 70s and Bruce wasn't a trained boxer. So what the hell does he have to do with Jake Paul and his "pro-record"?
Want to say Jake could beat him in a fight? Sure he only outweighs Bruce by 50 lbs and like I mentioned Muffin Top Ben Askren would have kicked Paul's ass if they weren't limited to boxing rules.
Very disappointed in Ben's performance. Jake Paul is an underrated boxer. If he started boxing early he might become a future champion
What were you setting your hopes on realistically with Ben? He admitted he was one of the worst strikers in MMA and his boxing experience is literally the 12 weeks he prepped for the fight.
In an open rules fight absolutely I'd pick Ben but if you limit him to his literal weakensses what should anyone have expected?
Are you asking if Canelo at 168 or 175 could hurt heavyweights? If so, absolutely not. He didn't have the power to stop Smith or Jacobs at 168. No way he hurts a halfway decent heavy.
If you are asking what kind of power Canelo would have if he were 200+, he'd be muscle-bound and useless at that weight
Does a heavyweight have stronger orbital bones than someone under 200 lbs? No.
The biggest limiting thing for Canelo would be his size he's barely 5'8" if we're being honest, he's already somewhat undersized for 168. He also doesn't have that young Mike Tyson style to make up for the very small reach he'd have at HW.
Fury is a natural fat man
He stores water and protects his organs with his fat
AJ will die from dehydration in the saudi heat and crumble from Fury's body assault on his lean body.
Fury is BUILT to fight.
There's nothing about being fat with love handles jiggling around and internal organs drenched in toxic visceral fat, that gives you an advantage.
This is what top level HWs have looked like for most eras:

Fury is an outlier in that he is successful despite his out of shape build not because of it.
The best guys in game are clearly white or latino. Canelo, Lopez, Usyk, Fury, Taylor..
Where is this obsession with "black" boxers coming from?
Probably 70+ years or so of boxing history?
It would take someone built like Wilder but shorter ( to be sub 200 ) and more skilled and with almost the same punch. But it will never happen because that’s not how fights get sold. If you move up, you have to gain weight to sell it.
So pretty much Tommy Hearns on 21st century supplements.

Totally; when people think of Ali, the first thing they think of is his garbage exhibition against that wrestler. Totally damaged his legacy.

Pre-internet things were easy to forget or brush over. This exhibition has defined Floyd's legacy with the general public in the under 30 crowd.
Also Ali was known and it still known for as much as what he did out of the ring as in it, for Floyd's sake he hopes his legacy is not defined by the things he's gotten into outside of the ring.
