The one reason I didn't care about Triller is because people seemed to have fun watching it. But if they're trying to actually get into boxing and now going after people then I hope they fail.
I dont like the ghetto event. Too many trashy characters like Snoop and comedians acting like foos in front of cameras. Cursing and smoking wtf?
Boxing is a classy sport not a fkin ghetto rap concert. Not some backyard boogie with these scumbagss.
Boxing is not a classy sport at all. It is literally a sport for immigrants and minorities, poor/impoverished class. It has always been a sport that attracts races/ethnic groups who are looked down upon in the US. Hence Jewish, Irish, Italians ruling the sport decades ago. And after them it was Blacks and Latinos. Even in Europe, boxing attracts poor/impoverished people.
When I think of classy sports, I think Golf and Tennis.
Boxing usually attracts boxers who came up in ghettos. So it's funny you say that. Like Mike Tyson grew up in Beverly Hills and not the slums of Brooklyn. Lol half these boxers once lived in cars.
There is no justification to steal a PPV. You don't like the price. You don't think the card is worth it. You don't have the money. Then you don't need to watch it. I don't feel bad for you when you get caught. You know it's illegal.
I am however willing to make an exception for this sham of a show. I hope Triller doesn't get a penny from anybody given what they already fleeced from legitimate purchases.
The Logan Paul v KSI fight was PPV and did big numbers. But it was 10 pound.
$50 to watch a YouTuber is outrageous. At that price you're taking something that is designed for the uninformed masses, and making it niche.
I reckon they've got it very wrong. YouTube fights could be a really good thing for boxing. More eyes on the sport, create more fans. Triller are trying to cash out on it before it's really got going.
Personally I couldn't even be bothered to illegally stream it, never mind pay, though I did watch it on YouTube later... Triller, come at me for that!
I raised an eyebrow when I saw Tyson-Jones numbers and again with Jake Paul-Ben Askren.
Right or wrong they're delivering something to the uninitiated that's missing from the game. A niche or craving that Spence, Crawford, Loma etc are unable to provide for.
I think the images out of triller account actually hitting people up for the money is photoshopped. I also think a company trying to get every penny they can is just normal, are they supposed to just pretend they dont see the pirated streams? if they can do anything to curb it than they will, I mean why not its in their best interest. Even if that means making examples out of a few people. Scare tactics works its why its been used for centuries, those that dont know any better will always fall for the sucker play.
Imagine this, triller get a few people arrested and have all the media outlets and everyone harp on and drive home the pointt hat triller is serious and will prosecute everyone they find of pirating, it will probably get them a 60K more buys? 60k x $50 = $3 Million, thats even money to pay the lawyers and probably the entire staff at triller. So it only makes sense they go this route.
Now if every streaming outlet got together and made one giant push than they will get some things done, Imagine of every weekend they were charging people for illegally streaming than the idea of them catching will slowly become a reality even if statistically the chance are low but the illusion will be real and daunting those "casuals" from hopping on a stream.
It's about converting casuals into fans. UFC popped because kids moved from WWE to MMA

Triller just STOP! This is NOT the way to stop Illegal Streaming! They're basically looking for anybody who talked about watching the Event Illegally and sending them threats. I guess they have sent out MILLIONS of these Messages that is a lot of work
Hopefully this speeds up the death of all these ******ed freakshow fights.
The freak show stuff is what they should continue to do. They can make money off it and get free agent fighters in the ring from time to time. I like that because then it's really of no importance and I can choose not to watch. I just want them to stay out of actual boxing. That market is severely flooded as is.
It would cost them way more than $50 to bring legal action.
They clearly lost a load of money on the event and are trying to scare people, it's the oldest trick in the book.
That trash wasn't even worth streaming for free.
I'm honestly shocked by all of this. Record and movies companies more-or-less gave up on this approach because it was costing them more money to have a team of lawyers and analysts going after people than it did to just leave it be.
I read it more as an empty threat, where they are hoping a decent chunk of gullible fans who streamed the fight either pay them $50 or will buy the next one instead of streaming.
And over time as they grew older they ended up watching UFC more and more. Their starting point was wrestling. It wasn't just because of Lesnar who obviously has crossover appeal, the nature of the sports allowed for it. Eventually they all wanted to watch "real fighting"
Youtube boxing is circus BS but that's what boxing was originally before Marquis of Queensbury, a lot of BS fights, with its roots in prizefighting. Whether you're taking on members of the audience or wrestling mixed in with boxing. it was a circus and people paid to watch it.
Casuals love the spectacle of boxing but with nobody to root for that's the problem
There's obviously a casual audience willing to pay for boxing but there isn't many star boxers Canelo & AJ aside. If this platform can create stars while putting actual fighters on then I'm all for it.
There’s literally no statistical evidence that supports the theory that these type of events/fights draw more eyes to the sport.
The whole “creates new fans” is just a cliche to justify these sort of money grabs.
I remember 4 years ago people telling me Mayweather-McGregor would bring new fans to boxing. It evidently didn’t and the numbers support that.
It doesn’t convert them though. The kids are fans of the YouTubers not boxing and what the YouTubers are doing really isn’t boxing- it’s a circus act in a boxing ring.
WWE fans watched Brock and Punk, they didn’t watch UFC. The atmosphere at UFC 225 was dead for the main event cause all the wrestling fans left after Punk got beat. :lol1:

Yeah cause we all wanna be paying $50 to watch YouTubers, washed fighters and even more washed rappers. :lol1:
The sooner these clowns go bust the better.
