At WW: I'll just say this: Thomas Hearns and SRL would have excellent chances at beating Mayweather (matter of fact Tommy I think beats him with out ?) at 147. I have never seen SRR fight -- that dude was way before my time -- but I have had the pleasure of seeing Leonard and Hearns. Those 2 always come to mind when I think of dream fights against Mayweather. SRR, I haven't seen that dude fight enough to give a clear anwser on how he would have matched up against Mayweather. So it's tough to say, but from what I've read an heard from the old timers...dude was suppose to be the real deal.
Kind of a strange choice, but I think Winky Wright would have absolutely been a nightmare for Floyd
Thomas Hearns would have been a absolute nightmare (IMO) That Flicker Jab and pulverizing right hand -- no matter how many times I think about this dream fight and it's ending -- I never see Floyd coming out on top. That's saying something because I would usually say Floyd can beat anyone, but Tommy for some reason, I just don't see it.
i know that you'll have fans of fighters and then there are extreme nuthuggers that blindly praise there favorite fighter and think they can walk on water. You'll have that with any big name fighter.
I'll admit that im a pac man fan through and through and i really do think that manny has a good chance to beat floyd. Even though floyd will have the better chance to beat manny than the other way around. Floyd is just a tought customer.
My question for floyd fans is this... Do you all honestly believe... with no bias that manny has no tools or no shot to beat mayweather?
i just think its crazy that some floyd fans ACTUALLY believe that manny has zero chance and will quote/unquote "destroy manny"
No bullshit, I think Manny is the only fighter at 147 that has a chance at beating Floyd. His trainer is one of the best of his Era, and is phenomenal at breaking fighters down and coming up with game plans for Manny to win. On the other hand, Floyd is one of the smartest fighters that I have every seen, at being able to break his opponents down in the middle of a fight an completely shut them down. His ability to adjust to what his opponent is doing is unparallel and absolutely devastating --can Manny deal with that -- I wouldn't bank on it. Honestly, as good a fighter as Manny is (with all the improvements he's made to his fight game) with all he's been able to accomplish jumping from weight class to weight class -- it's still tough for me to see this guy beating Floyd. I give the little man a chance; but a punchers chance at best, is what I would give him. He still gets hit way to much and is always open for a counter, and is off balance at times when he commits to an attack; and all that plays right into Floyds strenghts. Styles make fights, and Floyd style is going to be a nightmare for Manny.
I gotta go with a Mayweather-Pacquiao fight (1st choice). If things don't pan out -- then a Mayweather-Martinez or P-Will fight is just as good -- don't matter which one he fights first; there both good fights. Right now it's early to tell though who his possible next opponent is going to be -- even though Pacquiao is the next Logical opponent for him to face next -- just have to wait and see what happens.
Gotta go with P-Will. He was definitely starting to come on strong; and the fight was getting ready to get interesting -- to bad Kermit got hurt an wasn't able to continue.
if he was supposedly a drug addict his whole life? I was watching his last fight and i couldn't help but wonder. It doesn't really make me feel great about the current testing to be honest.
A lot of his fightes weren't held in America. The majority of his fights were international (with I believe 2 in america), so that's probably why he wasn't caught doing anything. Just a guess. If he has must of the majority of his fights in the U.S....I think he gets caught (IMO).

Floyd is one of few boxers who mentally gets his opponents to lose focus inside and outside of the ring. Tyson did it with pure intimidation and before the initial bell even sounded - you could literally see the tension build up in his opponents.
Floyd is working on Mosley in a way that has never happened before - Mosley can't help but think about what Floyd is saying from week to week and show to show. And all the BS RAP coming from Floyd not only takes your mind into another place but also irritates you at that same time.
Floyd is saying shit about Mosley's family life, his relationships, his business dependencies, his losses ... everything!!! And it would be difficult for anyone to not be affected when someone is constantly exposing your many shortcomings in life. That would irritate the best of us without question.
And come fight night ... I'm willing to bet that this four weeks {24/7} of constant irritation and mental torture is going to take Mosley out of his game and force him to react emotionally .... Playing right into Floyd's hands.
I think to some degree, Floyd has gotten to Shane alittle bit. Now weather it gives him the edge come fight night remains to be seen. I doubt it, but you never know. The dude (Shane) has taken some serious shots from Floyd about his family, money, nose job, Ect. You just don't know what type of toll that has taken on him mentally until he steps in the ring, and everything unfolds. "IMO" I don't think it will phase Shane, but only time will tell...
It ant about the legacy for Floyd -- it's about the green -- you think Floyd is going to care about what people think of him years from now if the Pacquiao fight happens or doesn't happen...Hell no! This guy will fight anyone (IMO) as long as you show him the green, and alot of it. He tried to make the fight with Pacquiao happen, and Pacqioao pulled out. Supposedly because he thinks the blood tests will affect his performance and his ability to be 100%. Floyd agreed to everything that Pacquiao asked for --yet Pacquiao couldn't agree to a simple blood test? I'm still shocked about that considering that Manny really seems to be an honorable man who cares about making sure things are fair and honorable -- then why not take the test and make Floyd eat his words (if your straight and ant on anything)? People need to understand that in the end of the day it's all about the dollars for Floyd; and there's a lot of dollars on the table for him if he fights Pacquiao, so best believe that somewhere down the line this fight will take place. To much money on the table for this fight not to happen. Just matter of time before the immoveable object takes on the unstoppable force...bank on that...this fight will happen...just give it time.
I wouldn't have a problem with him accepting that -- he proposed that offer not but a couple months ago -- so why wouldn't it be accetable? To me this is the only fight that makes sense for him to have next; if he's going to stay at 147. Unless he plans to move up to 154...
Honestly, both of there credentials are incredible (neither fighter being that far behind or ahead of each other), it's hard to just pick one over the other; when both fighters have established themselves as the best of there ERA. I don't have a problem with either of them being P4P #1, but the only real way to decide who is undisputedly the P4P best fighter in the world, is to have a clash between this ERA's top two fighters (only then will you have a clear cut anwser). That being said... My answer would have to be neutral (there both deserving IMO).
An unbeaten fighter loses to a man later found to have gloves with a substance somewhat like plaster of paris on them in a brutal fashion. Who knows what this did to Cotto mentally, but he may never have got over it. If I were him I'd be rematching Margarito ASAP to erase the ghosts of the past. Should he give another payday to a "cheat"? Or does he just need to move on with his career and forget Margarito ever happened?
Hell yeah, Miguel needs to rematch Margarito, and avenge that loss... That dude might have cheated you. Cotto should be looking for big pay back against that "SOB"...without ?!
Shane is one of the most durable fighters around (KO win being unlikely). Floyd (IMO) boxes the shoes laces off of Mosley, and wins a sound UD victory (that's what I believe happens).
I think that's a fair assessment. I think it could even go as high as 1.8 million. It's Mega fight with 2 of the best fighters in this era that have been calling each other out since back in 99 (with a solid undercard). I'd be surprised if it didn't do close to 2 million.
Its starting to look that way. How could Pac turn down what I just saw Shane and Floyd go through that shit was harmless.
Harmless, but annoying. Watching Manny and seeing what type of person the dude is; it's still hard to believe, that he turned one of the biggest fights of this ERA down --due to having to take a more advance test -- the guy seems like a man of honor, principal, and honesty --never would have thought that he would have made such a big deal out of giving a little blood. Crazy, but hopefully with time his opinion will change on the matter, and this fight will come to fruition.
Anyone else think Richard Schaefer is crazy in thinking this could actually break The World Awaits? Anyway, I'm prediciting 1.6M.
I think he's way out on a limb. 1.6 to 1.8 I think sounds about right though. The only fight that's breaking world await's, is a Mayweather-Pacquaio Maga-fight.
Nothing against JMM, but he gets his ass whupped worse at 135, IMO. Floyd was a complete animal at 130 and 135 (Marquez is getting stopped at 135). I think JMM's best chance at being competive with Floyd, is at 130.
If Floyd and Shane are willing to put up with it...Cool! It does look like the procedure can be annoying having someone falling you everywhere you go; waiting for you to take a piss -- but to me it looked like the people taking the samples where more annoyed having to wait -- while Floyd seemed unfazed.
You gotta love the trash talking and verbal shots both fighters have thrown at each other... This ant nothing but foreplay, leading up to the climax, come May 1st...it'll all get worked out, "Mano y Mano".
I don't think it's out of the realm of impossible, but Floyd would have to throw combinations and let hands go a lot more then what he usually does, to score a KO or stoppage. One punch at a time just ant going to do it. Mosley would have to make huge mistakes coming in against Floyd; for Floyd to KO him with one punch. Even then, Mosley has a hellva chin, and I'm not sure that even if he did make mistakes that he would get KO'd with just one or even 2 punch counters. If Mosley gets KO'd or stopped, it'll be in the later rounds -- if Shane is losing, and he gets desperate and starts trying to make things happen, and gets caught off guard; maybe Floyd pulls it off. Otherwise, I think Floyd wins this by UD.
Money May looks primed and ready to go for his May 1st bout against Mosley... Dude looks like he's in tremendous shape as always...May 1st is going to be a hellva war!
well........................how about a rematch with JMM............................
I'd have to second this. I thought he beat JMM in there first fight. I think he had everything that could go wrong for him on fight night go wrong for him on that night. Between Jay Nady screwing the call up on the knockdown, and the judges being blind as hell -- it doesn't take a genius to see that JMM got his ass beat -- it was a close fight don't get me wrong, but Marco easily should have gotten that decision. Not Marquez. I didn't see the fight last night, so I really can't say how good Barrera is or isn't at this point in time, but depending on how much he has left in the tank; if he has anything left at all: I think this could be a good fight if Marco is still up to par.
Miguel needs to leave Pac alone... That dude whipped his ass all over the place so bad -- who would want to see rematch of the same thing? What he needs to do is rematch Margarito and avenge that loss Margarito gave him. That's the match that makes all the sense, the match that warrants a rematch.
