At the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, former three division champion Marco Antonio Barrera (66-7, 43KOs) beat Adailton De Jesus (26-5, 21KOs) with a one-sided ten round unanimous decision. The fight was fought at a catch-weight of 141-pounds. The scores were 100-90, 98-92 and 99-91.

Barrera came out looking to do work to the body in the first round. A right hand seemed to stun De Jesus in the second. He quickly fired back at Barrera to get his back off the ropes. Barrera went back to the body and then to the head. Barrera slowed down the pace in the third, but De Jesus tried to speed it back up in the fourth by fighting more often. Barrera slowed the pace back down in the fifth. De Jesus spent too much time waiting for Barrera to get off with his punches.

Not much from De Jesus in the sixth round. He did a lot of complaining about Barrera's body shots being low and the ref fell for the trap and began to issue warnings to Barrera for borderline punches. During the seventh and eight rounds, Barrera did more accurate punching work. He was breathing heavy from his mouth and may have been starting to get tired.

In the ninth, both fighters looked tired. Barrera was doing the better work. Both of De Jesus' eyes were swelling up. In the tenth and final round, Barrera just picked his shots and kept moving until the bell.
