Lampley made a logical statement. No one these boards have accused LL of having a glass chin?
Lampley wasnt saying LL had glass chin or Klitschko. Just that the public perception was that each has/had one.
BTW. I loved Lewis with little salt&pepper in his hair. I'm glad he retired when he did. He'll live a long and healthy life.
Toney would get reamed by the athletic heavyweights
This guys is offline. Anyone want to help me out on who the athletic heavyweight is he's talking out? I guess Wlad, who I would favor against Toney.
How can anyone not pick Rahman to win the fight. He ROCKED Toney tonight..
I got the fight on TIVO. I'll watch it again right now. What minute of what round did he "rock" Toney?
I'll take Toney over Rahman any day.
Emanuel put it best, "Rahman would be out on his ass if Toney could punch."
Rahman made an idiotic mistake fighting on the inside. It really hurt him on the scorecards and made rounds that could go either way.
Tommy Kaz is a VERY experienced judge. He's old school. He had it even. I'll take his word for it.
Hasim was just standing and jabbing him all night, he let Toney have every punch because he knew James couldn't hurt him.
When was James hurt?
I had the fight even. Hasim was standing a jabbing enough. He spent too many round on the inside.
You're kidding yourself if you think Hasim landed the cleaner punches.
Rahman simply fought a STUPID fight and gave the judges reasons to score for Toney in close rounds. How? CLEAN, EFFECTIVE punches.
Well Hopkins' 20 defenses sure got a lot of credit, but he sure as hell didnt fight anybody. He was at the top of the P4P list. You can put Joe where you want to. P4P lists are pure opinion. but everyone needs to say "i RESPECT Joe Calzaghe". he SHUT Lacy out. The only point Joe lost was due to a point deduction.
I just moved to Boston. I sat ringside, 1st row, middle. I had Collazo up 2 points, but knew it could go either way.
Everyone around me was for Hatton of course. They're thoughts were mixed which means something. I didnt think it was a robbery by any stretch.
I have to admit though. Even though I wasnt there to cheer for either. On my walk home I couldn't but help but sing the song:
"Theres only ONE, Ricky Hatton, ONE Ricky Hatton. Walking along, singing a song, walking in a Hatton-wonderland."
They sang this the entire 2 or 3rd round. Even for a weird song, I was impressed.
Oh, and Don King was sitting right near us. So they kept thing, "OHH Don King is dead...OHH Don King is dead". King loved it though, all smiles.
If you were a burrito Supreme:
you would be Hilarious, Jackoff, Beans, Rice, and Nuthugger on a toasted Tortilla.
maybe i should take notes from you
whats the next pointless/overdone thread? When will Prince Naseem return?
How many times has Mike rededicated himself to boxing? how many trainers have made the claim that Mike is ready to return to the top?
mike, just get a reality TV show and count the money you get out of it.
the drinks are on me when Holyfield and Mike Tyson finally retire.
Barrera-Fana = Barrera joke PPV
Mosley-Estrada = Mosley by UD
Cintrón-Margarito = Margarito superior boxing, UD
Wlad-Castillo = Castillo, KO, Klitschko camp later claims Castillo gloves made of iron.
Ruiz-Toney = Toney, UD maybe late KO in a back and forth exciting fight. meaning very boring-very exciting-boring-exciting..etc.
Trinidad-Wright = Wright
Hopkins-Taylor = Hopkins
Tzyu-Hatton = Hatton, rooting for Tszyu
Castillo-Corrales = Castillo
I think you might be jumping the gun just a little bit. I dont think Vargas looked that bad. If he had just fought a more aggresive fight, he couldve hurt Joval more frequently.
with that said. Joval looked like he was fighting underwater from round 1. I mean that guy is very, very slow. Since he was fighting at Lt. Heavyweight tonight anyway(unofficial weight at fight time was 175), I'm gonna compare him to a very poor mans, slower Glen Johnson. a very busy fighter with limited power. but to describe Joval in a word: slow
who's on your avatar
You can save that BS for private messages. post padding much there, Nautilus??
Raging Bull
Great White Hype
Play it to the Bone
Ali
Rocky 1 (rocky 3 sucked and was corny as hell.)
hey knives, you can critique any Rocky movie after the II. After II, they all have their problems. but don't bash rocky III and have the balls to put Play it to the Bone on the list. thats laughable.
In no particular order:
Great White Hype
Rocky 1 & 2
Don King: Only in America (HBO/Vingh Rhames)
Raging Bull
When We Were Kings.
I havnt seen Million Dollar Baby yet.
so the fight is gonna be july 23. if klitschko comes in not well prepared like he did agasint danny boy he will ko rahman late 8-9,
why do you think he wasnt prepared for the williams fight? because of the whole homeland situation in the Ukraine?
I thought Vitali looked to be in great shape for that fight, as well as all of his fights.
Can you please list out the things that you would like me to do in the future: because Ultimately I am confused as to which ones I can critique. If I can downgrade any Rocky after 2, why can I not do the same for 3?
after all, 3 comes after 2.
Play it to the bone was hilarious and cool.
Rocky 3 was hilarious because it was corny as hell.
are you a reporter or something? talk about taking a statement out of context. you quote half a sentence and then tell me it doesnt make sense. most sentences cut it half can be a little confusing. I believe I said you can't critique Rocky 3 THEN go on to say Play it to the Bone was "hilarious and cool"
Hilarious and Cool????? "My dick wants to laugh" - Sam. L
I don't know about the slips!!!????
maxboxing has a video of the first Tito-winky press conference. there winky says everything about the slips/wrong shoes..blah blah blah. i'm not making it up or anything.
Bottomline if you like boxing and don't like reality TV you probably won't like this show because its made to draw alot of audiences not just boxing fans.
its made to be a very bad reality TV show. there are many sucessful reality shows, this isnt one of them. this was supposed to blow away TheNextGreatChamp. the only way it beats that show is b/c of the talent, IMO. but because of the editing, the fights are just as boring.
Unless your a boxing fan, 5 rounds of unedited action is too much to watch without switching channels. The show targets the general public not just boxing fanatics.
the general public isnt watching...so something neeeds to change. check the rating...they blow.
whats wrong with having one episode showing backgrounds of fighters...setting up a full 5 round fight.
this show is NOT just to entertain the public, but to get the general public back into watching boxing. i've watched the show with my parents back home, my g/f, with friends and they all say the same thing..."is this staged?"
you gotta love kevin kelly, such a funny and knowledgable guy, he should be a commentator.
Yea I especially loved when he said he could be a force at 130. ahhhhh fighters and their egos. haha.
You all see that shot teddy took at brain kenny ooo boy was that good.
I must have missed that ones! what did atlas say??
I agree. I dont think itd be the worst thing in the world to actually show the 5 round fight in its entirety.
I mean thats 20 mins total. maybe you can show the family's faces in between rounds and such. but its rediculous how they edit these fights...from the sound bites for punches to showing sly and SRL shouting every other punch.
What was that about after the Vargas fight, they talked about the ringside physician and how she was not in the EM-PAC fight and how business and politics control who they assign and shit, i didnt really get they were saying. They said they will be watching.
I dont think he was trying to make excuses about the headbut. I think he was referring to time it took for the ringside doctor to evaluate the cut. Remember the commentators remarking how long the process was taking. that usually the woman(sorry forgot her name) wouldn't have taken as long and she wouldnt have entered the ring at all, just called Pac to the corner and observed from there.
or was he saying something else? maybe i'm wrong.
in most interviews winky says he had the wrong kind of shoes on that made him keep slipping. He said none were legitimate knockdowns that hurt him seriously. but fighters say all sorts of things.
thats the gist of it.
