Vargas gets KO from 147-160

This guy is so shot and if you cant see that then there is something wrong with you. I get sick hearing Merchant and all of them saying all this good stuff about him. Joval looked horrible. Vargas is now garbage and will get KO by Hopkins, Taylor, Sturm, Tito, Winky, and Eastman. If he moves back down to 154 like he plans, then he will get KO by Ouma, Mayorga, and Forrest and would lose a easy decision to Spinks. If the top guys from 147 move up like Zab, Cintron, Margarito, Shane, and Oscer, they will all knock him out. I said this a while ago and some agreed that he was shot and some didnt. I also said that Tito ruined him and most thought that Oscar ruined him but thats bull shit. This kid was a great fighter before and during the Tito fight. He took too much punishment in that fight, especially down the stretch. Every fight since then he has looked like shit. Even the fights before Oscar he was looking bad and every fight he looks worst. Oscar wasnt even hitting him that hard. This guy is shot. I think a pre Tito Vargas wouldve beat Oscar because he was also declining at the time. I saw his last fight against Marshall who himself was shot and sounds like Meldrick Taylor now sounds, and I thought the guy had a chance to beat him. Im not here to dog him because I liked him alot and I thought he couldve been great but they moved him too fast and I think he is ruined. He will never even come close to beating a top fighter again and I think he will be KO by any of them except for Spinks but he would still lose a one sided fight to him Im telling you that if he doesnt stop soon that he will end up like a punch drunk boxer. He is now starting to blink alot and other things. He better stop soon or it will be bad for him

Hey, DLT! Did you see DLH vs. Vargas? I don't know but I think that Vargas looked pretty good in that fight regardless of the steroids. Vargas was only two points down when the TKO happened. He's right, Vargas did look slow and like garbage. It was close because Oscar wasnt no better. That was the most overhyped fight in history. The crowd was going crazy at everything they were doing but they werent even landing half the time and the ones that did land werent that flush. You could tell that Oscar was going downhill in that fight also

Fernando Vargas said himself that he was looking to try something new. Perhaps the best decision wasn't to turn a pro-fight into a sparring session, but he didn't do half-bad. I'll say this again -- Give him a few fights before you jump the gun and claim the man is shot. You can't even say that this bout is a reflection of the negative results incurred during his bout against Trinidad, because he has taken an entire year off. He's a different fighter, wait and see. That's not to say that he is going to be a legendary competitor, it just means to wait before you go throwing assumptions out and making an ass out of yourself. Hey faggot, this is my opinion. Vargas biggest problem is he gets to excited and burns alot of his stamina on pointless punches thats what he did to de la hoya he landed shit as when he foguth tito he landed lots of pretty punches which cause Low Blowing Tito to foul.

He looked good when he fought Ike And Tito fast and strong he would have done better without steroids but everyone makes bad decisions learn to live with them.

Fernando Vargas is a different fighter now. As it has been said time and time again in this thread, no body should expect an athlete who has been out of the ring for over a year to come in and look as sharp as he did prior. It was pretty clear and obvious that he did not perform with the same intensity that we are used to seeing from him, but then again he fought totally different as a whole. Defensively, he put on a boxing clinic, and although Joval is no where near the level of Trinidad, Wright, DLH, etc., to make anyone in the top 15 middleweights land at less than 20% accuracy is impressive. He performed well, but in a different way than he usually would, because his approach was totally different. He wasn't going for a knockout, and that much was evident after the first three rounds. Be patient and give him a few fights before you go jumping the gun and claiming the man is totally shot.Man, I have been saying this. This isnt about tonight. You talk about his defense? Please. Joval has to be the most uncordinated fighter I have ever seen. I bet you anything if he steps up to a half way decent fighter, he will lose. I bet you that Eastman would knock him out

I have heard some people say that Toney looked impressive against Booker. They also claimed that Toney won every single round of the Jirov fight......because of "counterpunching". Wtf ever. It's not about that. Vargas got KO by Tito and hasnt looked good since. Then he got KO by Oscar and he looked like shit against Marshall(a guy who shouldnt even have a boxing license). He looks worse every fight I think part of him not looking good against Marshall was that he was fighting in a outdoor arena when it was very cold that night.

I think the main reason Vargas didn't look so great tonight is because he fought too defensively. He is trying to learn too many things at one time. I think he should just win some fights to get his confidence back while working on new stuff in the gym and gradually applying it in the ring. Yeah and he has time do that because he is only 27 years old and like I said maybe those big losses are good because he has been humbled.

Vargas could stand uncovered for 10 rounds and not get knocked out by Joval. My 90 year old grandmother punches harder then Joval. However I dont think Vargas even tried for a knockout. This fight was a statement that he truly is trying to change for his career and his health.
