Are you stupid or something? What do you mean its how you fight them? Thats the dumbest shit I ever heard.
...it's like this, it's not how you win, but how you loose...great wins pale vs terrible losses...meaning, ODLH had some great wins BUT his legacy now is quitting vs Manny...Mosley on the other hand has lost fights but he's always showed "game"...when I think of Roger Mayweather I have the vision of him sitting on the stool vs Chavez...
Kabuki Joe
Chagev is a bum. Haye easily stops him in 3
..he's not a bum, he's just too small to go against the bigger HW's...he was world amatuer champion 3 or 4 times...he's a really good fighter, just too small...

I'm from Saint Louis and we have been hearing that here for a while now...I REALLY HOPE SO!!! AND ALOT OF OTHERS HERE HOPE SO AS WELL!!!!
...I've been a Rams fan since they were blue and white and this really is great news...I was talking to the guys at work and no one wants Bulger...HAHAHAHAHA...he sucks...look where the Rams are with Bulger and look where the Cards went with Warner...I don't know who made that call, but he should have been fired...
Kabuki Joe
...I'm still not sure whether Mayweather won the fight or Mosley lost it...that fight wasn't what I hoped for even though it went the way I thought...the only bright spot of the 4 fights was the "ginger mexican", I really enjoyed that fight...Alvarez got rocked but for a 19 year old kid he showed a lot of composure and didn't "crack" when it counted...but damn, he sure looks like he's "white"...
Kabuki Joe
i think he loses to paulie. but if he wins holt and bradley. maybe witter/torres, prove hes best from uk.
...didn't Witter loose to someone who's realitively unkown?...at least Hatton lost to someone thought to be the best P4P fighter at present...
Kabuki Joe
i lol'd at that, manny hits harder than floyd by a mile, not even in a p4p sense, he literally hits way harder than floyd
...when's the last time you took a "piss test"?...I think now is a good time...

Arthur Abraham got his jaw broken in Germany against Miranda. He took an Ass whoopin. At that time Miranda was considered a beast just like Margarito. Everybody thought that Abraham was finished and maybe even should retire.
What happened? He took a few fights against lesser opponents, got his confidence back, and knocked out Miranda in the rematch.
Besides how long can a 29 year old (almost 30) Margarito keep this up? He has been taking blows to the head for a living for 15 years. Cotto is the one with more tools. By the time they meet again, I suspect Cotto will get his groove back and Margarito's so called Chin-prime won't be as good as it was.
Fighters like Margarito don't last long. Eric Morales turned pro young and he was finished by age 30. It's just about that time for Margarito.
...Abraham didn't quit, so he still has respect for himself...Cotto quit and he knows it...it will eat at him for the rest of his life...
Kabuki Joe
That would be speculation since Vitali was never off his feet as a pro.
...LOL...man, I failed the test, I was thinking glass jaw = Wlad Klitchko and voted for Vitali...
Kabuki Joe
Do you know what resignation means? It means quitting. So he looked like he wanted to quit, and kept taking knees, but he didn't quit? Ok, whatever.
The look in his eyes told his corner he was done; they would have been negligent had they not thrown in the towel. Plus I could've sworn I saw Cotto give a little nod to his uncle as he came up on the apron.
He quit... which was the smart, safe thing to do. But like someone else said... it will eat away at him until he redeems himself, if not forever.
...LOL...if you give your "resignation" to your boss, it's not really quitting, you're firing yourself, which is different then quitting... O.O ...LOLOL...damn, the excuses are all over this forum...there's no such thing as "kind of quitting", "almost quitting" or "close to quitting"...Cotto quit...but in truth, it's better that he "quit" then fought until he was seriously injured or worse yet, died...we all can pass judgement on Cotto saying he quit in our oppinion, but I bet you Margarito knows the truth...but if he's a class act, he will never openly disrepect Cotto by saying he did...I know this, I don't think I would have done any better then Cotto...
Kabuki Joe
When you consider that two guys in his division that were seen as below him in talent and skill handled Margarito with relative ease
I'm talking about Clottey playing the drums on Margarito's head for four rounds until injuring both hands. You could honestly look at it like this: Clottey hit Margarito's hard head so often he broke his hands from it.
I'm talking about Williams winning the first 6 rounds and slowing a bit late in the fight but winning a clear unanimous decision.
Yet Cotto can't control this one-dimensional, slow as shit, telegraphing every punch iron-chinned bastard?
Hate to say it, but this hurts Cotto a lot more than he may realize. I really thought he was winning the fight going into the 11th, but he was running whereas Clottey and Williams were willingly marching into Margarito's personal hell and winning.
...that's an interesting perspective...with pitdogs (and roosters), there are dogs that are called "pit game", which means game enough for the pit, but not game enough for breeding...usually these dogs are high ability dogs that completely out class their opponents and never get pushed hard enough to get tested, but there's something about them that is questionable...it looks like Cotto was "pit game" and the wrong fighter met up with him...
Kabuki Joe
I just seen a few people insult Morales and call him a quitter on another thread.
Was what he really did that bad? He gave it all he got , he didn't have anything else , he just got knocked down for the 2nd time......what was the point of getting up again?
I've also seen Arguello do the same in the Pryor fight.
I read someone post so many bad things about Kostya too and how he ended his career on the stool.
They're not the only ones...... there have been plenty of greats who have "QUIT". I'm sure each of us can name a few more.
Me personally? I don't hold anything against them for this. If you're beat , if you have nothing left , what's the point of getting beat up some more?
Thoughts? Opinions? Discuss.
...I'm not surprised that you feel this way, because it's very easy to "quit"...as a matter of fact, it's not frowned upon in the USA anymore...but 50 years ago if you quit no one wanted any part of you...
Kabuki Joe
WTF?? Does he mean they experimented on each other and didn't like it? or experimented with other guys? If this is true then OMG!!
...well, it's basically fairly "innocent" in most people...you stay over a friends house...you get in close proximity to him and if you are into "guys" basically you get wood...if you aren't you think to yourself "EWWWWWWWWWWWWW, that's way too close"...you can deny it, but it happens to all of us at some time in our lives...it's basic physcology...if you do deny it, that means you got wood...
Kabuki Joe
i mean yeah having, and keeping an 0 is great, and ideal, but it is not the be all, and end of a great fighters mark. i just feel that so many great fighters who may have losses against other gr8 fighters is ok, and really does not make them any lower all time, or any less great imo! do you fellas feel that having a few losses, or no losses is a big deal in the overall picture, or not? especially if the losses came either early on or to other great fighter in close fights.
...LOLOL...not in this country, they are working hard in our schools to take out the adjectives "winners" and "loosers"...I mean, there's no need for a winner or looser when everyone is equal...
Kabuki Joe
Not even Steele could save JCC in a fight with Mayweather.
I think people forget how much of a beast Mayweather was at 135 and 140.
...LOLOLOL...Beast?!?!?...WTF?!?!?...Tyson = beast...Haggler = beast...Foreman = beast...but PBF a beast?...I just shit myself on that one...
Kabuki Joe
I will say this much Floyd never stuck around to find out. He was gone in a hurry, I personally don't think he wanted anything to do with Tsyzu. Tsyzu took down boxers that had faster hands and more power(Judah) and Mitchell was a slick intelligent boxer.
Roger Mayweather shared a lot of similarities with PBF's style, obviously he trained him. Raising his left shoulder, head and body movement, fighting going backwards, fighting in spurts, etc. Tszyu's left hooks and jab still found him, with the occasional right. I think that the Tszyu-Mayweather fight is a good example of how it could have went. Obviously PBF is more talented and more intelligent, but PBF's style is meant to endure age, speed only helps it isn't something he relies on. PBF would be on his bike just the same, tying you up on the inside. He would probably fight a very similar fight with a better offense. I just don't see Tszyu having the trouble hitting PBF that everyone else sees.
In some ways I would see similarities between the DLH-PBF fight. I feel that Tszyu was a better boxer then DLH, he was more patient. He was more economic with his punches and outside of the Phillips fight always well prepared. Tszyu had a better pressure style against a slick boxer then DLH.
I don't know that Tszyu would win, but of all the fighters in recent memory I would say that Tszyu has one of the better chances at winning PBF.
...the other similarity between Roger and Floyd is "blood"...they are blood realitives...and if Roger sat on the stool against Chavez, Floyd will do the same...unless he stays retired..."quitting" is in Floyd's blood...
Kabuki Joe
...I like Hatton...he's a "throwback" to when boxers were fighters...but, if he had Joe Cortez in the ring when he fought Kostya, he'd have lost worse then vs Mayweather...Mayweather is a good boxer, but he has average power...Kostya is a good boxer but he's got great power...and Joe Cortez is the difference in those 2 Hatton fights...and I garentee you that 90% of the people that come to this forum just can't ***see*** how a ref makes that big of a difference in a fight...
Kabuki Joe
...there was a black kid that I went to school with that was 16 and benching 450...and he wrestled at 190...the only thing that really stuck out on this was "how genuine" he was...looked like a really nice kid with a good heart...what the hell happened?
Kabuki Joe
Shane has been hit alot in almost every fight. Shane has really bad defensive lapses... his chin allows it. But it also makes him susceptible to being outboxed.
I mean, Fernando vargas was boxing pretty even with Shane.
Someone of Shane's athleticism shouldn't get hit as much as he does.
...excellent post!!!!!...not many people notice details like that...so, why does someone like Mosley get hit a lot?...because he's not afraid of getting hit...Mosley is one of my all time favorite fighters and I rank him with greats like Haggler, Holyfield, Smokin Joe and the great Rocky Marciano...all of these guys came to fight...plain and simple...these guys all had HUGE hearts, and win, loose or draw, they came to fight, not run around and avoided getting hit...the problem with guys like this is they have a rough time with score cards because when you aren't afraid of getting hit, you get hit a lot and loose on the score cards...boy, if it was like it was in the begining, "til the finish", these guys would be unbeatable...
Kabuki Joe
...Chavez, in his prime, would make PBF sit on his stool...when he lost to Whittaker, at that point in his career PBF would also take him...but, you are forgeting the one fighter that would be "certain doom" for PBF because he'd run circles around him...and as much as I hate the guy, I think he'd give PBF fits...WHAT TIME IS IT?????...IT'S MACHO TIME!!!!!...I would love to see that fight...
Kabuki Joe
The only certainty in all of this is that Mayweather would never go out on his stool.
...LMAO...he's never be hit hard and now he's GAME...you know, I'm pretty tolerant of people with their heads up their asses, but you pushed me past the limit of decency...Floyd is a "punk" that doesn't like to get hit and he's probably the best at it...maybe ever...but to say he'd never sit on the stool because he's never been hurt, all I can say is, what a fucking idiot...
My apologies,
Kabuki Joe
Fighting with a broken hand is plenty of heart in my book. He does have heart , he just didn't use it in the way we are used to.
...so, you think PBF would take the asswhoopin that Mallignaggi took against Cotto or maybe the one AA took against Miranda and keep "scratching" for 12 rounds?...I think he'd take the asswhoopin Roger took from Chavez and end the fight the same way...the truth is PBF has never, not in any of his fights, been "worked over" like any of the greats he's compared with...he has never been behind and needed to "suck it up" to pull out a come from behind win...please, read my sig...
Kabuki Joe
I don't understand how or why people could still question Floyd's chin even into the man's retirement. LOL!
No matter how good one's defense is, at some point and time, he will get hit by his opponent.
Sweetpea had superior defense to Floyd Mayweather and Sweetpea was floored many of times in his career.
Floyd's chin was outstanding.
I saw him eat a Chico Corrales hook without flenching. I remember in the first fight with Jose Castillo, he ate a left hook to the head and follow up left to the body. Floyd was actually frozen for a split second, but then he snapped out of it.
Judah hit Floyd with a few bombs in the early rounds of their fight and Oscar landed some nice shots as well.
If Floyd had a Judah chin, he would have been KTFO more than once.
...LOLOL..."if he had a Judah chin"?!?!?...LOLOL...he doesn't even need a lower jaw, he's get's hit once or twice a fight...let me make a statement here, Floyd has never been "worked" because he refuses to get hit...he runs like a little girl when someone even get's close...but that's what makes him a great boxer...notice I said "boxer", not "fighter"...his defense is 99% perfect...I don't like him, never have, never will...but still, he's one of the best boxer's ever...that's what has made him win, not getting hit...I'm pretty sure he's got no heart, seen his eyes "bug out" a few time in the Hatton fight just from Hatton being too close for comfort...and he ran from an "old, washed up" DLH...if he wants to remain on top, he better stay retired, because someone will catch him and he too will sit on his stool looking at the floor when the bell rings...
Kabuki Joe
i unerstand the point you are making but we need to decide which Joe Cortez? the one who stopped Hatton infighting against Floyd or the one who let Bhop do exactly the same thing with Calzaghe?
Thats the thing about Cortez now, he is shot and too inconsistent for your point to be fully valid my friend.
...that's a good point but I didn't bother watching Calzaghe/Hopkins...maybe Cortez is pro USA fighters and shows them bias?...that would be the "consistency" in this case...
Kabuki Joe
Who will or wont rate Hatton P4P, if he beats Pacquiao ? I wont rate him as p4p even, if he does win, because he is simply not the best fighter in the world, and one win over a former flyweight wont change that.
Does the best fighter in the world struggle the way Hatton did against Urango,Collazo? does he almost get knocked out by feather fisted fighters like Collazo, lazcano?
...hehehe...the excuses are already starting...even if Hatton destroy's Pacman there will be a line of people making excuses for why he's not a great fighter...I hated Larry Holmes with a passion and wanted him to get KTFO everytime I saw him fight...but he was the best at the time even though I didn't like him...sometimes you need to suck it up and give credit where credit is due...
Kabuki Joe
i know im rican and a little biased, but i believe trinidad had the best career. his resume is outstandfing and truth be told, tito never really lost a fight until he jumped up in weight to fight hopkins and wright. in his division, he dominated for years and also holds a victory over dlh( i kno wits controversial but dlh could have won if he didnt run. ) trinidad was a legend, exciting, a knockout artist...the exact reason people tune in to boxing. he was beat by the defensive minded heavier guys like wright and jones, but who stood toe to toe with felix in a brawl and came out a winner. people say he didnt have a chin , but as i said he beat his whole division before moving up for the money...
...he's like Cotto, all ability, no heart...you can't be an ATG when you fold under pressure...or quit in plain english...Mosley is the only one of these 3 that has HEART...
Kabuki Joe
Cotto is one of the best WWs of the last 10 years, and he has fought the best opposition available and not ducked anyone.
Though I think he is a very very good fighter I am not convinced he had the ability to skills to carry him to what I consider greatness.....but who knows maybe he will bounce back do great things and prove me wrong.
I hope we see him again soon, he is a warrior and a throwback but was just missing a little bit in a few key areas which prevent him from greatness.
...I agree with most of this...he's a very good "technical" fighter that will fight anyone...but...he's not very "durable"...almost "fragile"...he's got the ability, but he's not "durable" enough to be considered an ATG...he's shown that he just can't take what he dishes out and that's been his down fall...Wlad can't take a beating, but he's smart enough to change his style to compensate for it...Cotto isn't and he will keep loosing until he can make the adjustment...
Kabuki Joe
Mark my words. Pacquiao dismantles Clottey easily, with very little effort or competition and earns a mid to late round stoppage. Mayweather and Mosley slug it out, early rounds showing some serious difficulty for Mayweather as Mosley's combination of size, speed, and power are not easy to overcome. Finds his rythym in the 7th or 8th and begins to dominate, UD after a beating or a late (10th or 11th) stoppage for Money May.

There's my last prediction, you tell me how on point it was...
...HAHAHAHAHAHAHA...Mayweather slug it out...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...with Mosley?...just a question, has Mayweather EVER slugged it out with anyone?...I seriously doubt that Mayweather has ever stood still long enough to get hit a 2nd time...exit, stage right!...HAHAHAHAHAHA...that's some good mota someone's smoking...
