In terms of relevance, obviously. Every boxer gets less coverage when they’re no longer active.
I think his talent will be far more appreciated though. His consistency in making elite boxers look ordinary was something to behold. I expect nostalgia to be kind to him in time and he may go down as the best ever, which a lot of people consider blasphemy right now.
I don’t even like Garcia but he is a quality counter puncher. I think it’s a stylistic nightmare for Porter. He’ll get picked off and it will be a comfortable decision for DG.
Garcia is better than people give credit but behind the elite talents of the division. Shawn Porter is pretty far from elite.
Obscene statement.
Joshua may well beat him but it's a close fight simply because of the power both fighters have. I don't think either of them are particularly skilled boxers, would probably give the slight edge to AJ, but they're nowhere close to Fury/Prime Klit levels either. If Fury can actually get back to what he was I think he will smoke the HW division.
This Pacquiao-Mayweather pissing contest still going on - It's pretty pathetic.
We don't know if either of them cheated as neither ever got caught. Maybe they did - Maybe Ali/Tyson/Sugar Ray did as well. How would you know beyond pure speculation?
They fought, Floyd won. One is retired and the other is semi-retired. They're two of the greatest ever and if you prefer one over the other good for you. Move on children.
Unless there's some dire financial situation I'm not aware of I can't see him fighting again.
The McGregor stuff will not sell a second time. He could maybe get another fight with Manny to sell but again nothing close to the original. He's 40 years old. He has one of the greatest careers of all time, an undefeated run and a legacy that will only improve in time. He has next to nothing to gain by fighting a killer like GGG at this point in his life. Even if he were to win, his detractors would still find a way to play it down.
I think Joshua can be knocked out on stamina alone, if that makes any sense. If someone is able to fight him at a busy pace, not take too much damage you could literally put his gassed up ar5e on the canvas mid to late rounds.
I can see Parker being able to do that, but only if he is at his very best and Joshua is say 5% off. This fight has the potential not be as big a mismatch as everyone says.
Agreed.
Joshua always looks uncomfortable in later rounds. He was one half decent shot from defeat against Wlad. It's why I think prime Fury would beat him relatively easily because he never really slows down.
Parker needs to get out of the early rounds without getting too much damage. If he does then I'd agree it's a 50:50 fight. Easier said than done - Joshua is as dangerous as they come.
I like the concept of this thread but it doesn't stand a chance.
Both fighters always have me intrigued, for different reasons. Whatever else they are, they're both phenomenal boxers. I would like to see them fight as much as anyone but I almost wouldn't want to give the fanboys of the winning fighter the pleasure. They're both intolerable.
The lengths people go to discredit Floyd are just embarrassing.
He fought him and he won. Many still can't deal with that. Calling a professional boxer who's been in with some of the scariest dudes on the planet a coward is remarkably stupid.
There's a degree of fear in every boxer for almost every fight. It's a pretty dangerous sport.
Another time where he doesn't take advantage of hurting him.
Provo should just be swinging there instead of trying to line up the big shot. Very frustrating.
I like Thurman but come on.
Unless Floyd completely breaks down in the next few months this is just stupid talk. They will never fight, if they did he might cause Floyd some problems but he'd end up being seriously outclassed. Floyd's so far above anything he's ever been in with, we've seen this realisation with a few fighters.
No offense but just like Soccer the British always boast about how great their BPL and National team are in Soccer when their playing the Malta, Montenegro and Falk Islands of the world. They think that their style of play is the best and only way to play Soccer.
Then the truth sets in......
Once they play a team outside of their domestic area with more skills and style they get embarrassed and get home sent packing but still continue to boast how great they are LOL
Rigo = Brazil
Frampton = England
The Irish in him will see him through.
It's the best fight at that division, but Carl would be smart to bide his time and fight Quigg first. Rigo isn't getting any younger.
He has a chance against him, which is more than I'd say for anyone else in the division. He'll not get a decision but I think he can hurt him.
