Wilder got the win, showed he had heart by staying up but Otriz held back and couldn't finish like Klitschko couldn't stop AJ.. Wilder looked like he had no legs for the whole round after being rocked bad. I had Ortiz up, Wilder needed that bell and was desperately holding to survive.. He has vicious power though that's for sure but that's all, he had no other answers for Ortiz. AJ batters him, I bet he's laughing now.
AJ will have only 3-4 rounds and if he doesn't knock Wilder out, Wilder will finish he off. AJ is probably better as boxer but he seems to have a problem with stamina and gets exhausted after each spurt and he needs time to recover.
Look, in matches with people close in skills and power, you get fights like Wilder-Ortiz, and AJ-Wlad. No body really looks too technical or too good because the disparity in skills and power is not that much. If you cannot see that, I don't know what to tell you.
You are entitled to your logic - which tells you Wilder loses against AJ. I respect that. But saying he was not using his jab, while accurate, does not tell the true story of yesterday's match. Wilder was cautious because of the counter from Ortiz and Ortiz trying to parry Wilder's jab. When you have not yet tasted someone's power, you don't want to be messing around.
This is also why AJ was too careful when he fought Wlad. You cannot just be jabbing and throwing like you are fighting a D-level fighter.
You are correct - I should not have called you a cancer, although I still think you are a Wilder hater. We can agree to disagree. Peace!
I’m not saying he should have pumped out 100 jabs a round but it was under-utilised for sure. He had significant height and reach advantages, if he jabbed with proper technique then it would be very difficult for Ortiz to counter him. But Wilder jabs with his chin up in the air and exposed, notice he couldn’t jab versus Washington either! Joshua actually made good use of his jab against Wlad in the early feel out rounds.
I’m not pulling these criticisms from obscure places, it’s what I and many others see when we watch him. But anyway we can agree to disagree but refrain from calling me a cancer, if you think I’m a hater then fine.
Don’t call me a cancer or hater, Wilder is a terrible boxer and it’s easy to see every time he fights. Joshua is not a master technician either but he does the basics unlikely Wilder who never has any control of the fight unless he has his man hurt. This is the truth, I don’t know why you can’t see that. Dude wasn’t even jabbing yesterday, it’s like he had to remind himself to jab. Listen if Wilder was as technically sound as AJ he would be the clear favourite in that match but he’s lacking basic fundamentals and that makes him an accident waiting to happen. I feel very strongly that the accident will happen against AJ. Can Wilder win that fight?? Absolutely and it wouldn’t be a shock unless he actually won the majority of the rounds and dominated. I just feel the logical outcome is Wilder making mistakes like he always does but this time he will be adequately punished.
Leave it at that, my life revolves around AJ yet you’re the one who can’t deal with a differing opinion, you’re actually a bit of a weirdo to be honest. It’s not that deep bro.

Wake up, dude. Who wants you to support Wilder? Just be objective and stop making excuses about Wilder's wins. He has no skills - that's what you always say. How do you avoid getting hit and move out of the way of most of Ortiz's shots if you have no skills?
Put me on ignore if you like - who cares? My life does not revolve around AJ like yours. I actually like AJ although I favor Wilder. It is folks like you that make it look like AJ does many things special. He does not. Both fighters have strengths and weaknesses, but saying Wilder has no skills? Or is terrible? Doesn't that make you sound pathetic when he is beating people with skills? Of course, you will say it is his power - how about his movement, will, heart, athleticism, etc?

I think ppl are severely overrating Joshua. He's no technician himself. Better than Wilder? Sure but Wilder gives that edge away in every fight. Wilder is the faster guy, has better stamina as well. There's a lot for Joshua to be concerned about in that fight. But Hearn needs to make this happen ASAP.
DIfference is he’ll be giving away that edge to someone who is the same size as him and who hits hard enough to put his lights out. He’s never faced anyone like that and that’s a big difference. That’s the point people who are backing AJ are trying to make.
So me thinking AJ will beat Wilder comfortably means I’m a cancer, if you’re not a blood relative of Wilder then you need help, seriously.
And stop quoting me please, if you notice I don’t initiate any debates with you. You can’t handle someone not being in awe of Wilder. Dude is an awful boxer but he’s got some great physical attributes, you’re the same guy that thinks Wilder should get 50-50 and that the fight does a million US PPV. Go your way dude or I will seriously consider making you the first guy I put on ignore.

I am not like you anyway. You are just a plain Wilder hater. Your posts show that. It is cancer like you that mess up this site. You are in the majority though - so keep watching. I hope you have your ready made excuses when (NOT IF) Wilder whoops AJ.

What excuse did I make? .... I gave my prediction which has been the same since day one.
I’ve been here for 7+ years, why would I suddenly leave. More chance you make a new alt and forget Wilder ever existed.

Too true, though I have a feeling that the 'gasses out dramatically' line may not be true come the end of the month. If Joshua is really coming in at the Breazeale fight weight (or lighter) then I don't see stamina being an issue at all, though we shall see.
Yeah no doubt on that weight and gas comment. Joshua trying to make himself as tank-like as possible is actually a clear detriment to his chances. We will see indeed. He takes way too long to recover though does Joshua, it is interesting for sure to imagine a scenario where he is hurt vs wilder and given he is too stiff to be elusive as it is, how does he deal
with a wild Wilder... he has the power trump card too though ...so what happens? It’s a great match up.

I think AJ is shítting in his pants and Hearn is looking for a way to delay the fight so they can make more cheese fighting less dangerous opponents.
Ortiz was fighting at a very fast tempo, Joshua can't fight like that. He gasses super fast.
Wilder was hurt and hurt for a while, this was a new experience for him. I think he'll make the adjustments he needs if/when it happens again.
Wilder's style summed up:
Use height to stay out of range and wait around doing nothing for a right hand
Land right hand
Finish
When he is fighting 6'6" AJ or 6'8" Fury two dudes with great ability he is going to get DESTROYED.
I spoke in perfect English what I thought, that fight could go either way, it is retarded for you to claim one guy will wipe the other out when it's clearly two formidable champion level opponents
But Wilder isn’t on that level. He has a hell of a game changer, but he’s not on the level of AJ.
There’s a reason he didn’t fight Klitschko as well.
Everyone that Bomber has faced as a professional are better technicians than him...AJ will be no different
Ortiz is a lefty...let's not act like lefties have not always been problematic for right handed rumblers throughout history
Bomber will look more impressive against AJ than he did against Ortiz imo
Ortiz probably beats AJ...Styles rule everything
I've honestly been bored by boxing in the last 2 months and I almost skipped this one but this fight actually reinvigorated my interest. Not because Wilder won or anything, just because it was a real thriller of a fight. This is what boxing is about. The edge of your seat excitement.
About Wilder, I never thought much of his lunging head movement when he throws but seeing how Ortiz had such a hard time countering him solid, I'll give him credit for having a strength in that aspect. I can see an orthodox guy like AJ having a hard time adapting to that.

That is word for word how I see it. The action was what one gets watching a pure puncher and a puncher boxer who can operate in a similar capacity and when they went at it there were always consequences...it was very exciting. True story, I was upstairs in the bedroom and the family was asleep. had the headphones on but could not contain myself! Start yelling! fly up out of the chair! lol the wife and kids down the hall are like 'Dad!!?" Thats how I know it was a good fight. :usaribbon
What I like about Wilder is that he took a smart tact: Knowing he was never going to be a boxer, seeing his gift for power, he went right to the source and developed into a pure puncher. Like Haye, he has become an ambush preditor. Unlike Haye he has such reach that he can pretty much reach anyone from any place in the ring. And when he catches you he comes in looping...this makes it hard to see where the punches are coming from and to stop them.
Wilder's whole approach is predicated on being able to unload those punches and its not luck that allows him to do so. He has developed his jab into what Dempsey used to advocate: A ramrod where you try to take the guy's head off. So he has his jab and punch and he has his reach. Hes getting smarter and smarter with tactics, even outfoxing ortiz. Ortiz was trying to time him...its how Ortiz got his knockdown. But Wilder adjusted and when Ortiz tried that again he pushed Ortiz back and came around with his punches so they were harder to time.
In other words Wilder is starting to make adjustments in the ring... I like his progress and his approach. Marciano was as akcward in his day...people grew to respect it as a quality that contributed to his success and i suspect they will do likewise with Wilder.
I beleive AJ will have the boxing ability to nullify Wilder's right.. You don't need Lomachenko skills to avoid one type of punch. Wilder has no other skill, he only has his right.. That's all. You font need boxing master skills to work on avoiding ONE punch.
Wilder was missing by a mile with the right so it's not hard to avoid.. And he didn't miss because of Ortiz's boxing ability.. He just missed because he times it wrong.. Ortiz didn't even move but Wilder missed.
All AJ needs to do is nullify that.. Watch the fight how open Wilder's chin is.. He gets put to sleep mark my word.
Wilder is akward and a pure puncher...a rarity. You need to be very proficient to avoid his shots. He has proved this in this fight to me. His punches come from weird angles and from across the ring, it is easier said then done. If Aj can do this that is quite an accomplishment. I think it will be a great fight if AJ's team will let him take it.
I get it. You’re a fanboy. That’s why you take offense.
It goes without saying that everything anyone says on a forum represents their opinion. Assuming anything else makes you look like an imbecile.I spoke in perfect English what I thought, that fight could go either way, it is retarded for you to claim one guy will wipe the other out when it's clearly two formidable champion level opponents
AJ will look the better boxer, but his chin won't hold up. Wilder eats shots for 3 rounds and finishes him in the 4th with the first clean right he lands.
but, can wilder afford to eat shots from joshua for 3 rounds? i don't think so. all wilder has is a right hand. people are acting as if wilder has tua's chin 'cause he survived that seventh round. dude was all over the place.
AJ gots way more skills and ive said WilDer would never beat him, but im not so sure now, WilDer has really good speed, punch and heart, AJ look slow vs the old Klit, WilDer is looking for that one opening
