Worst robbery for boxing
I voted for Roy Jones. But I remember when they robbed Hagler against Leonard. In pro boxing it's about the effectiveness of the punches, not how many punches you land (amateurish). They robbed Hagler and it was so foul it made him retire. Boxing never got to see him fight again. Worst robbery ever.
Aaron Pryor was forced to move up to 140 because no one gave him a shot at 135. He's a natural 135 pounder fighting at 140 through the second half of his career. He is the best at 140. Anyone who thinks he's wild knows nothing about boxing. A true boxer-swarmer, not a slugger(wild). I don't care what y'all say, no one can beat him at 135 either. Not Durant, not sweetpea(my second fav fighter of all time), and def not a Mayweather(my fav current fighter) or Pacquaio(the most electric current fighter). Even Adrian Broner(fav Current on the rise) knows not to compare him self to Pryor. Even though Broners going to be great, he'll never quite be number one in Ohio history lol.
We all know maywathers going to win. But then 24/7 has us believe that an upset could happen. Oh I come from a rough background, oh I've been drinking piss... Ect. And it makes us buy the fight. Great marketing on their end.
Pryor had the drink for the first fight with Argeullo but not the second. Pryor was in shape and fought all 15 rounds. He's the only boxer/puncher/counterpuncher/swarmer that I know of.
good post... i voted abraham and ward to have a chance... i would if i had to put my money on it... calzaghe would open at at least a 3 to 1 favorite... ill take that any day
Probably because you're an idiot, which you pretty much proved with this entire thread.
naw im not an idiot.. but i dont know nothing about computers.... but dont let that have an effect on what u think about me... listen to my directions..
looks at pac in the weigh ins against cotto... then clottey... what physical differences do u see?
to the people that r quick to say stfu and this that and the third... i cant hear ya...
but thanks to the people that gave some opinions about lighting and stuff... i can believe that....
some people r quick to think im a pac hater... thats not what i am... im just an individual that voices my opinions... but people comming at me everytime i put something on nsb is really discouraging... thats y i stay on t&n for the most part...
anyways... ive also mentioned how at the end of both fights... pac looked so much smaller in the clottey fight as well compared to the cottos... obviously hes thrown a lot more punches in the clottey fight... but he looked bout 10-15 lbs lighter... is this just another optical illusion on my behalf... still up for debate... thanks
i felt that the corner stopping the fight wasnt necessary, didnt seem like he took lots of damage and he fell on his own will not becuase of toney punishment
although it didint seem like holyfield was taking a lot of damage... he wasnt able to connect on toney at a high rate... he was very discouraged and toney pretty much took his will... lights out!
im a big gamboa fan.. i could see him being being high up on the p4p list for some time before his career is over!!! as for mtagwa i respect him as a fighter... but his come foward style is taylor made for gamboa and i see gamboa picking his shots, moving around roger making roger miss, throwing off combinations, wearing roger down... u best believe gamboa will move around and keep roger off balance... i had a chance to meet roger and hes a good dude and all but his promotion has put him in too many wars and gamboas youth, speed, power may be too much for mtagwa... but cuz roger has such a trendous chin i can see him lasting more than half the fight... maybe getting knocked out in the 9th, 10th....
oh and this kid is ok... his feet is def not right... i dont like how hes so square up when throwing them right hooks... my coach tells me to never throw right hooks from that distance... so im brainwashed to think this way
if a fighter is slick but not black... will manny fight him? (i cant think of any maybe the magic man? maybe he not slick enough) lol
if a fighter is slick and black... but manny is color-blind... will manny fight him? lol
what about if a fighter is black and he thinks hes slick???
i think manny will fight anyone thatll give him the top$$$... forget what hes done or who hes ducked in the past... hes a top dog now... he wasnt back then
oh btw im new here and i m a mayweather fan
i like the americans or blacks... i clicked americans... dont hate... im born in korea, raised in philly... a philly-korean... i give the the europeans no chance, no respect... i feel the americans are the superior thinkers...
lol whites run baseball, hockey, racecar... all sorts of stuff here in the US... whats the problem? ima drop some knowledge on yall... im a north philly-korean *****... my pops tells me that korea used to run boxing back in the days with the lower weight classes.. and to a certian extent still do.. somewhat... not really... but anyways the reason y koreans dont box as much is cuz the economy is a lil better now and they dont have to get beat up to get PAID... plain and simple...
a lot of people box out here in philly... times r hard still... but nowhere near as it used to be back in the days... even with the recession now; its not THAT bad... thats y the population of boxers are dropping everywhere... cuz they dont need to get beat up to make money... there are more ways to make money than back in the day
oh and someone up there said that froch would ko hopkins??? y would froch b able to ko someone thats never been koed???? im too new here to start talking my sh*t... whoever said that... u dont wanna be THAT guy... shhhhh
yea syf.. i try sit on every punch... i consider myself a boxer/puncher/talker... although the ref disqualified my second fight before the frist round even started... he like "son u cant be talking like that in a amateur fight" lol... but yea im not really the type to brag about my fights... i feel i know a lot.. but there is really more that i dont know... so ill keep u guys posted about the video that ima be putting up...
yo mcnabb is not white... i just thought id point that out... hes a black mammas boy that likes to make excuses for himself when he doesnt win... i hate mcnabb get him out of philly... he seems like hes satisfied with what hes accomplished in his career already... philly doesnt need that.. we want winners here... this has to be absolutely the last year for mcnabb... every year im so hopeful.... im sick of feeling like this... i wanna win...hes making andy reid and the whole organization look worse than it is...i speak for more than half of philly when i say this... get him out
desean for mvp...
imo LWW is close but not quite some of the fighters youve listed might not even be competing at LWW (marquez, judah diaz, holt (isn't he moving up) and hatton). LWW is pretty stacked though; bradley, pacman, khan, campbell, malignaggi, (judah?), urango, alexander and torres are all the big names who are deffo competing in that division.
i voted for SMW - not only do you have the super 6 but you also have allan greene, bute, andrade, lacy, miranda and bika. thats 12 top quality fighters iv just mentioned!! TWEELLLVEEE!! now granted that the last three are not much but they make exciting fights for sure.
WW is also close but imo they lost something when pwill moved up, not only that but with pbf we know that the best fights (pbf vs SSM/clottey etc) simply won't happen. pbf will however happily take on cotto or berto as they are much more beatable.
for me right now its SMW- bar none.
cant disagree with that
How are you gonna mention green and stevens and ignore bute and andrade?
defintely smw for the most elite operators, but I like 140 the most. There's a million badasses down there with up and comers. It's a younger division in general and everyone is fighting each other while the ww's are all posturing now with floyd and manny in the mix.
i guess when it comes down to it... i gotta be on top of my game if i decide to put up a highly debatable post like this one... walt liquor u made me realize how important it is to be able to back up what i say; since the whole www can come and read what comes out my mind... i shall be more on point next time... be easy
heres another point with the super middle... its not anythign thatll happen anytime soon... but chad dawson talks about how hell drop to super middle if paul williams will move up to smw to meet him... ive read it somewhere within the last 2 months... i think once their $$$ rises (in my eyes paul will brings more money than chad.. so i guess chad will have to step his stock up... but they both need to step their value up if this will ever happen) they will meet for a MEGA super middle weight fight... thatll be a wrap for the smw division... just a thought
Patrick Lopez would beat Mike Jones badly. Mike's so scared when he goes to the store to buy milk he calls ahead and asks "yo, El Elegante's not there is he?"
what r u talking about... i go to same gym as latif... and i get to see him and mike jones sparr it out 2 times a week... no one is beating them for a minute... especially some dude thats not from philly.... no disrespect
Everyone in Philly is sharp. If you got a big name, you better be on your A game everyday, cuz someones dying to give you that work. But a bad day in sparring is just part of boxing. You just can't have a bad day come fight night. And Jones and Kennedys records show they come to win.
