why is he bashed for not fighting african american fighters when on many occassions stated he wanted to fight floyd? the board seems to have this sort of balance system; if one fighter is hated for one reason, the board seems to have to diss another fighter or multiple others to distribute the haterade.
what slick fighter would give more problems to manny than marquez and morales of the first fight?
Steve "the slickster" Soberg super featherweight. Was an up and comer in 2002. Went 2-8 in 2001. 4-18 Career with 1 KO.
African-American, so he was slick. Born in silicon Valley. Manny, morales, and barrera feared him cuz he was so damn slick, regardless of his record.
if a fighter is slick but not black... will manny fight him? (i cant think of any maybe the magic man? maybe he not slick enough) lol
if a fighter is slick and black... but manny is color-blind... will manny fight him? lol
what about if a fighter is black and he thinks hes slick???
i think manny will fight anyone thatll give him the top$$$... forget what hes done or who hes ducked in the past... hes a top dog now... he wasnt back then
oh btw im new here and i m a mayweather fan
i dont get why he would be avoiding slick fighters though. slick fighters tend to not throw as many punches. they are mostly concerned with not getting hit. he wouldnt be taking punishment and he has hand speed and good enough footwork to tag slick fighters. the only slick fighter i can think of that wouldnt get stopped by pacquiao is floyd mayweather. hes beyond slick though hes like water.
so raheem is an example of an AA fighter? :smashfrea
i wonder.. where is raheem now?
Bad management, I think is his current problem, plus he is boring to watch and people don't want to fight him unless they have to
They have nothing else to say, this is a myth created by floyd fans. Manny is a junior welterweight fighting at welterweight while floyd is a welterweight trying to pick up lightweights. He avoids any sort of threat and competition and cherrypicks safe opponents. Yet we hear about someone avoiding african-americans? It shows the true nature and intelligence of the board.
All this talk of pacquiao scared to fight African American fighters is pretty stupid. He has beaten black fighters in the past. All this talk now is them just trying to score a big money fight with pacquiao. For the lower weightclasses you simply do not have many Black fighters, the lower weight classes is dominated by Mexicans.
Manny on AA fighters, let me see........Stay away from them..... I don't think Manny wants to avoid them, AA fighters thats is. But Roach and his managers know the deal.
Same as with the great Mexican fighters, their handlers TRY to avoid good AA fighters at all cost. This is not a racial comment, it is just a fact, thats not a secret to the real boxing insiders.
Good AA fighters don't like getting hit, so they train not to. When you train not to get hit you usually don't get hit that much.
In the AA boxing World it's "hit and not get hit is the name of the game"
AA fighters tend to have the better footwork in the boxing game. Good footwork allows you to be elusive and at the same time mount a credible attack. What Rahim did to Morales is just one example of what I am talking about.

african-american is not a boxing style.
all african-americans don't fight the same way , dumbass.
I know that as you know that too, When people say AA fighters in this context you know exactly what the **** they are talking about, (Slick Fighters).
Calling people names in WWW world is a pussy as move. Grow up

zahir raheem was a 135 fighter.
pacquiao didn't move to 135 'til last year.
that crap you heard is from idiots that didn't know what was going on 3-4 years ago.
they assume manny was suppose to fight raheem after raheem beat morales.
that's not true. morales was trying out 135 and fought raheem as a tuneup. it wasn't an eliminator. it wasn't a tournament.
if velazquez had beat pacquiao (pacquiao fought velazquez as a tuneup on the same card) he wouldn't have gotten a fight with morales.
Awe alright... yeah i won't fully stand by a fact unless I know definitively that its true.
I though Cotto had great footwork when he first came on the scene. He has not displayed it much in his recent fights over the last few years. But I still think his footwork is very good when he uses it. I think his footwork will be a big factor in the PACMAN fight. ROACH has been working on PACMAN's footwork. But PACMAN just does not look very natural when he tries to display his footwork.
Without getting caught up in the racial issue, Pac does tend to avoid figthers that are elusive, doesnt matter the race. Slick boxer come in every race, for example Sergio Martinez is a pretty slick boxer and he's Hispanic. Different weight class but you get the point.
Yeah thats what I'm getting at not just African American fighters but just slick more mobile fighters in general.
up until last year it hasn't been an issue.
there were few , if any , african-american in the top 10 at 122-130 the years pacquiao was there.
last year when he fought at 135/140/147 then there were african-americans in the division.
since the plan is to fight mayweather and/or mosley then any argument is moot.
the only reason cotto gets a shot before mayweather/mosley is because cotto is top rank (which is to arum's benefit)
I agree that cotto's shot being first has a lot to do with being a Top Rank fighter but it also has to do with his style. I've heard of a couple of guys that his camp avoided namely zahir raheem but thats just heresay and i haven't looked into but I think you would have to admit that his camp has been avoiding more slick mobile fighters and I don't get a strong desire for them to put pac in the ring with mayweather from their statements in the press. I read about them throwing mosley in as one of pac's possible opponents but I have to call BS on that there would be very little benefit for pac or Arum from that matchup but hey this is just what I've observed from the outside looking in.

racist.
he's black and american. that automatically means he's slick.
he's so slick he doesn't even need to keep his hands up.
lmao...Nate was like "Yeah punk, I can take your punches like they nothin!" Damn that was great.

Damn that's the most embarrassing thing i've ever seen in boxing.
