When was that? And where is that?
it was around the begining of the year. somebody was asking roger where he ranked floyd and that is what he said at that time. i don't remember where i saw it but i saw it and heard
What does going to clubs have to do with being thuggish?
Arturo Gatti used to go to clubs and bars all the time, drink and snort like crazy, and got arrested for beating up a cop!
Was he a "thug"??
Is this true. Gatti used to drink and snort like crazy
Pernell in his prime would dominate floyd. All the floyd fans deep down inside know that Pernell would win. That's why they're always comparing floyd to pernell. Pernell is just better accept it.
John david jackson vs jorge castro
John was winning every round, both eyes on castro were real bad, he had to huge cuts on both eyes around the eyebrow area and one eye was closing. The referee was about to stop the fight because castro would not stop bleeding and he was eating punches, and then out of nowhere he lands a big right and drops jackson, jackson gets up and then I believe a left hook knocks him out cold. GREAT FIGHT, A MUST SEE FIGHT
As good as floyd is you have to be on crack to think he can beat
ROBINSON,HEARNS OR LEONARD THREE LEGENDS if a person thinks floyd could beat any of them the kid would have to be a 12 year old or something
the smaller guy already has a disadvantage than the bigger guy.
why would you want the smaller guy to have more of a disadvantage by allowing the bigger guy to clich. this has to be the stupidest crap i've ever heard!
tyson had no cutmen, hardly trained.....mayweather aint that stupid, hell be prepared n he aint under-estimatin baldomir
no excuses in boxing once you get in the ring. from now to he retires none of floyds oppoments will a be 42 to 1 underdog
Would Pernell be able to touch Floyd?
That would be an amazing fight.
Not amazing like exciting, in the common sense, and most people who dont understand the sweet science wouldnt appreciate it, but id sure love to see it.
more than amazing, two of the best ring technicians of all time
DLT, I dont know why you keep bringing up size. Pernell Whitaker is 5'6 with a 69" reach compared to Floyds 5'8 with a 72" reach.
Also, comparing Whitaker to Cory Spinks is just insulting and really shows how you view Whitakers fighting style.
As for punching power,
When I first started reading this post I was thinking man I hope somebody uploads the sweet pea highlight from you tube. Maybe this will shed some light on some people and they will stop saying some dumb ass shit. Sweet Pea was phenominal. Pernell by decision. End of story.
I was also their. It was an awesome experiece. De La hoya was cooler than I thought. He stayed a long time signing autographs for his fans. Mayeather was talking crap in the last press conference saying that dlh thinks he is to good for his fans and turns his back on them. That didn't happen in Miami because Mayweather was the one that left early and I didn't see him sign one autograph. Mayorga was pretty cool too.
how early did you guys get there?
Actually I was late it started at 12:00 pm. I was their like at 12:10 and they were just showing the past press conferences on tv. They came out about 5 to 10 minutes after I arrived
I agree and disagree with you. I agree that De La Hoya has had a bad rap from people who have attended his first conferences, but he was great signing and mingling with fans, but mostly AFTER the conference. De La Hoya seems to be serious about his work promoting his fights, sullen and focused. But once everything is over, he seems to loosen up, smile and shoot the breeze with his fans. He signed for a handful less people than Mayweather did on the red carpet; he smiled a few times and really didnt pose for pics. Everything changed once the conference and interviews ended; he was smiling and laughing with his fans, signing tons, cracking up at jokes about his music, giving high fives and the works.
Mayweather did sign and signed alot, not as much Oscar, but no complaints from anyone that I heard of. He signed for more people on the red carpet than Oscar did; I dont know how much he signed for fans during and after the interview process, but there was a group of fans around his area and lots of cheering, so he was mixing it up with the fans (also laughing at their jokes when he took the podium). He did leave before Oscar, but signed as he walked with the crowd that followed him; Oscar stayed late to make up for the lack of signing that he did when he arrived.
Mayorga is always cool. And you gotta love Dundee.
Oh yeah Dundee was real cool.
