Ok, now that Canelo said 155 or no fight to GGG and possibly no fight until one or two years from now. My question, if Cotto win loose or draw vs Canelo agrees to fight GGG at anywhere between 157-159lbs. Will he get any credit for stepping up?

FROM ONE BOXING FAN TO ANOTHER. I have come to the conclusion that you guys are no different than the fans of other fighters. You defend your guy and hype him like others do their favorite fighters and that is a good thing and it also doesn't hurt that the guy has legitimate skills, it's good for GGG and it's good for the sport. Fans like you will help keep the sport alive. And like other fighters fans you sometime go a little overboard in praising your fighter with statements like "he is the greatest MW ever". He may some day become one of the greatest fighters of his generation but he began fighting professionally kind of late in age and that will give him too short a window to accomplish great things, that being said if he fights three to four times a year he might get there. In closing I will add that two of the greatest fighters of this generation are or were Mayweather and Pacquiao they accomplished great things in their careers and to be the greatest GGG will have to match or surpass those accomplishments, good luck to both GGG and you his fans. Just a thought so please discuss or report so the mods can delete this thread.

Being that it is being rumored that Maidana will be returning at 154lbs. It has the makings of an explosive fight, they are both pressure fighters. Who do you think can win this fight and why?

I agree with GGG'S people that the winner of Cotto vs Canelo should fight GGG at the full 160lb, but not an ounce more. That means same day weigh in with no rehydrating or at least kept to a minimum. Do you agree or not?

Money is the best BOXER of his generation there are no better boxers today. He may not be exciting to watch but he is the very best boxer today. He's fought just about everybody he had to fight to prove that. The only guy he may have legitimately ducked is Margarito but that probably had more to do with him not wanting to work with Arum than anything else. If you disagree discuss why.

Does Wilder have the goods to become a super star? He has a better KO ratio than GGG (I know he hasn't fought any live dogs but). It would sure be cool to see him fight and knockout some big names before a Klicksko bout. I'll be rooting for him

Question, If Cotto beats Geale and fights Canelo next then if that fight is a FOTY candidate like many fans believe it will be and we get a rematch. Where does that leave GGG? And if after two fights the winner of Cotto/Canelo vacates. What will be of GGG? He ends up with WBC belt but no lineage recognition. If the winner of Lemieux-N'Dam decides to avoid GGG and Lee looses his belt to his mando or decides to unify with the Lemieux-N'Dam winner.

Okay let's start demanding it, like we did the Mayweather/Pac fight. I'm a Cotto fan and I don't want to see him fight anyone not nicknamed GGG. The only exceptions are Canelo or Money May and those two are tide up in other fights but GGG is free and willing. #CottovsGGG

Now that Canelo is fighting Kirkland and the super fight is about to be signed, who can Cotto fight next and make all the fans happy? I think it should be GGG and you?

Why is it that most people here believe Cotto is washed up can only beat cripples and is not a great fighter, yet everyone is willing to pay big money to watch him take on Canelo and half of the people on here believe he will kill Canelo. The kid is only 24 only lost once against Floyd and is improving in every fight. The non great cripple beating Cotto is the guy everyone wants to see in the second biggest fight that can happen in 2015 yet he is a ducking washed up diva, gay eye brow plucker and cripple beater. Never been KOed in his career but will get KOed in four rounds by GGG, I personally believe Cotto can't beat GGG, but he's a harder fight for GGG than most think.

I just read in El Nuevo Dia the Puerto Rican newspaper that he has instructed Golden Boy to look for a new opponent for him, for the May date. They quote Arum who said he just got a call from Oscar telling him this. Apparently Canelo is tired of waiting on Cotto.

Haymon signing so many fighters and preventing them from taken on certain fights and the NBC deal. This leads me to believe that their plan is to create some sort of WWE type of program with their fighters where they would only fight stable mates. I don't mean that they will create the fake entertainment part just the exclusivity. Which means eventually we will only get recycled matches. Sorry guys if this has been already covered.

These two fights can be successful PPV's on any date of the year just not on the same day in competition with one another. As for the popular May 5th weekend it benefits Canelo/Cotto more. Money May can fight any other day versus Pacman and will have huge success it's the fight the boxing world has been waiting for. But as much as I like Cotto I think Mayweather/Pac should take priority over the Cotto/Canelo match. IMO

What is the biggest fight scheduled for 2014 so far? I think Cotto vs Martinez, followed by Bradley vs Pacquiao, Mayweather vs Maidana. Not potential but already announced?

Some are asking what has Cotto done to deserve a shot at the middle weight crown and crap on Cotto for his demands during the negotiations. And most act like Martinez is doing Cotto a favor, when the truth is that as good as Martinez has been he's made little money and Cotto is giving him an opportunity to get a well deserved good pay day. Big money little risk for Maravilla and Cotto win or loose with a good showing will get a pass because supposedly he does not belong in the ring with Martinez. This fight is more about money than anything else the fourth title in as many weight divisions is just an incentive for Cotto. Cotto wins he gets to choose between Money May and Canelo for his retirement fight he looses it's just maybe Canelo. Martinez wins it's another big pay day with Canelo and if he looses it's retirement time or another big pay day in a retirement fight for him and Cotto in a rematch.

He sure looked it in his last fight. IMO. I know he has a lot of power but watching the last fight he looked very flat footed and I don't know if he just had no respect for his opponent's power but all he did was move straight forward.
