Maidana vs Margarito who wins?

Maidana is perfect for margarito. He doesn't need to go find him. A brawler like Maidana moving up and fighting a bigger stronger brawler is not going to work out well for him. Reminds me of when Gatti moved up and no matter how hard he hit Baldomir it didn't do a thing. You guys really underestimate how hard it is to go up in weight. Margarito may very well be done, but Maidana doesn't exactly look like a prize fighter himself these days. Moving up? Maidana can't fight bigger opponents. He doesn't have the technique and doesn't carry the weight well. Everyone seems to constantly forget.... Alexander beat the fck out of him. Pacquiao and Mayweather spoiled you guys with Moving up in weight. Most fighters cant do it very well. Huh? Karass was bigger. So was Ortiz. In the Karass fight Maidana seemed to be tiring and found his resurgence... Marg has a lot of heart..but so does Maidana. I got Maidana brawling with Marg and out boxing him when he needs a breather. Aims for the eye wit his jab aND overhand right. Marg gets stopped.

Pre-terminator eye Margarito was a tank, but Maidana has a heavy jab and arguably more power than Margarito, his boxing IQ is also much higher than people give him credit for. I can see Chino taking this one, his unorthodox style, underrated power and ring IQ would have kept Margarito humble enough to edge out a decision. Just my two cents.

Maybe but 24/7, HBO, the commission won't make a show about the eye, holding last minute hearings, weaving a narrative for weeks...talk about it non-stop and have the doctor come up checking it every other rounds. Also, Cotto's jab/hook come from his lead hand, it's a power shot. Maidana has improved jab but it doesn't have that sort of timing on it, where he will be running Marg into it like Cotto had him do in two fights Leonard fought hagler after having surgery for a detached retna. I dunno why everyone here thinks there Doctors all of a sudden.

These guys are made for each other Margarito is not crafty enough to use his height against an equal pressure fighter who will be in the pocket all night in Margarito's chest literally. Robert Garcia wins. Being a trainer for both he can charge an auction to the highest bidder for his services. On a serious note, I think it depends on how Margarito look after being out for a couple years and also that vulnerable eye. Maidana too wouldn't be at his best in a new weight class, having to cut down that much weight and also having not fought for more than a year. Right now Maidana takes it but prime for prime I have no doubt Margarito eats Chino up. Btw this fight ain't happening because of their promoters..

Maidana is one of my current favorites, Margarito is a past favorite. Chino seems kinda meh about coming back, Margarito seems like he has a death wish, so I'm going with Marg. Even putting that to the side, drilling it down to size and skill, experience, etc. I'd still go with Marg. But they have the same trainer. Maybe we will get some sparring clips in the future, I'd be happy enough with that.

Maidana w/ Richardson = Maidana wins Maidana w/o Richardson = Margarito wins

I think Maidana can win based on the fact that he is the fresher guy and I think he will push Margarito back, something Margarito is not use to. And you throw in Maidana's rough house tactics and you got the kind of war Margarito is surely not use to. These guys would be literally on a collision course.

Margarito has been done for years. Prime Margarito VS prime Maidana would have been an amazing show.

I'm not a fan of either guy but I have to agree with you here. Neither am I but these two will just head to the center of,the ring and t off on each other ..But if I had to pick maybe Maidana right now based on activity how long has Cheato been out for now ?
