Does Wilder have the goods to become a super star? He has a better KO ratio than GGG (I know he hasn't fought any live dogs but). It would sure be cool to see him fight and knockout some big names before a Klicksko bout. I'll be rooting for him
Middleweight is terrible man,i think it is actually worse then Heavyweight at the momentI guess middleweight is pretty weak if a guy like Geale can be a champion.
He hasnt looked like a superstar so far. You need more than lots of KO's to be a superstar. The HW division is still terrible.
Lets say he beats Wlad, Fury and Joshua. Then beats up a load of bums. Who will care?
This. He can be heavyweight champ all he wants, but if the division is weak and there's no one to fight, people will grow tired of it eventually similar to the Klitschkos.
If he does become a superstar it won't be for long, AJ is coming and once they fight Wilder will be put to sleep.
I'm a Wilder fan, but if AJ keeps improving, he could very well beat Wilder.
Still, AJ is at least seven fights (2 years) away from a title shot.
so a fighter can't be legit unless they beat the second best fighter in the division? Does that mean there are only to legit fighters in each division?
Povetkin got beat by Wlad and everyone started calling him a bum for it. So that would mean even the second best fighter in the division isn't legit.
Yes, beating a few quality fighters makes you legit. That's who Wilder faces next. You have to beat some of the best fighters in your division to be legit. I don't understand why that would be difficult to comprehend.
Povetkin is arguably the second best fighter in the division. If Wilder passes that test he is legit. Simple as that.

Jennings vs Wlad got 1.7 million viewers on HBO for what was essentially an unknown US HW with little chance of winning. Wilder is already a much bigger name than Jennings. If Wilder fights Wlad it will be much bigger, especially if it's on NBC. If Wilder beats Wlad then he will instantly become one of the most famous athletes in the US. Hell I think if you put Wilder vs Molina on NBC it would get 5 million viewers on its own.
GGG has KOed at least 6 guys rated in the top 10 middleweights in the world. Wilder has only defeated one top ten heavyweight and most of his opponents were not even in the top 30 including his opponent tonight. For him to be a superstar he needs to beat the very best heavyweights and I don't think he can beat them.

Let's see an attractive, beast looking American HW that KTFO s everyone. No chance at all of being a star.
If he becomes the champ he will be the biggest thing in boxing and top 3 sports star worldwide. No doubt about it..
Top 3 sports star? Delusional much? :bottle:
he doesnt have the skills or the personality, dude is annoying as ****. he will be a fairly big name though, win lose or draw he will always be in exciting fights with memorable KOs. people are dying for that in the HW division.
Mike Tyson knocked out a bunch of bums and everybody cared.
If he beat Wlad or Fury he'd absolutely be a gigantic star in boxing.
No question about it.
If he beat Povetkin believe me, a Wlad or Fury fight would do huge numbers.
Tyson was spectacular and produced some of the most amazing KO's ever. Wilder doesnt have that same superstar quality. There are KO's and there are KO's.
Irrespective of the quality of foes, Wilder will/is almost close to being a superstar...provided he fights on Sho. I don't believe fans are gonna buy PPV for Wilder V tomato cans.
Wilder V Klitschko/Fury etc can sell on PPV though.

We has to deliver in the ring. If he continues to knock people out and he can knock out some top Heavyweights...it doesn't matter what anybody thinks on this forum, HE WILL BE A SUPERSTAR! But again he still has a long way to go, he has to beat Molina impressively tonight of course, after that, take on Povetkin. He beats Povetkin impressively I think that will not only shut a lot of people up but they will have no choice but to :hail: including myself who still have a lot of doubts and questions and need to be answered by him. I do think he has a great trainer in Mark Breland who is teaching him some things like that Jab which was outstanding vs Stevernie.
Beating Povetkin and/or the winner of Klitschko vs Fury will make him a Superstar. He is a little goofy though, don't like the silly Dancing I see him doing but all that won't matter if he continues to knock people out
If he wins he can be a superstar. He has an engaging personality. He is downright funny and could do some sort of comedy work. That said he needs to win to crossover to the mainstream. Boxing is too underground for a nearly man to become a superstar.
