FROM ONE BOXING FAN TO ANOTHER.
I have come to the conclusion that you guys are no different than the fans of other fighters. You defend your guy and hype him like others do their favorite fighters and that is a good thing and it also doesn't hurt that the guy has legitimate skills, it's good for GGG and it's good for the sport. Fans like you will help keep the sport alive. And like other fighters fans you sometime go a little overboard in praising your fighter with statements like "he is the greatest MW ever". He may some day become one of the greatest fighters of his generation but he began fighting professionally kind of late in age and that will give him too short a window to accomplish great things, that being said if he fights three to four times a year he might get there. In closing I will add that two of the greatest fighters of this generation are or were Mayweather and Pacquiao they accomplished great things in their careers and to be the greatest GGG will have to match or surpass those accomplishments, good luck to both GGG and you his fans. Just a thought so please discuss or report so the mods can delete this thread.
GGG was exposed in the Lemieux fight. There were 1 or 2 times where Lemieux actually landed and GGG felt it. GGG knew Lemieux has serious power why else did he not come forward like in his other fights? If he was fighting a big puncher who can actually get past a jab then he's in trouble. I like GGG as a fighter though.
I wouldn't say he was exposed. I think Lemieux was the one who was exposed. Lemieux is a very limited fighter. On the other hand, triple doesn't seem to know how to fight going backwards. Everytime Lemieux pressed him he stopped throwing and clammed up, but Lemieux was too limited in boxing technique and IQ to capitalize on it.

I like what I see from him in terms of having technique and strategy to go along with his great power. He could end up being special.
But he hasn't really beaten anyone of note yet. Lemieux looked simple and basic yesterday, no jab and no idea of how to deal with one coming at him.
