I think that is one of the problems with last nights performance is that Manny is really looking unbeatable. It's almost as if the only question that remains is Floyd. What do you guys think?
I think a Floyd vs. Pacquiao is the most anticipated fight in the sport right now.
As far as possible opponents that could challenge Pacquiao, there are a few options...
Marquez (at 140 or below)
Bradley (at 140 or below)
Floyd
Mosley
Williams
If by do his job you mean cash his check, im sure he will be fine.
Its going to be interesting to see what weight class he will be at. Do you think he will ever go back to boxing? He was badass at welterweight.
in fact couldn't we lend more credence to Cotto than Manny because he truely was indeed about making the fight regardless of what was thrown at him yet Manny, ever the warrior, didn't?
Me and my friends argue all the time about the merits Pacquiao had on adding that stipulation in the contract .
I agree completely the stipulation was there to keep Cotto from being 100% at fight night. For me, every fight Pacquiao has been in where he has asked for his own weight limit will have an asterisk next to it.
But there are two sides to every coin, Cotto did not have to agree. It was complete bullshit that it was a title fight, but cotto thought it was a winnable fight so he agreed.
The Pacquiao vs Mayweather fight was all but signed and Mayweather threw the drug allegations into Pacquiao's face, it was also bullshit. Who is Mayweather to dictate anything? He is still on a comeback, Pacquiao is on a high, Pacquiao has the leverage at this point.
I don't think Mayweathers past can be ignored, he or his team have gone out of there way to avoid high risk fighters, I don't think this time it is any different.
There are about 20 threads on this topic, with people getting sonned left and right by those backed with facts. We should all know them by heart right now. There is no excuse for comments like this anymore.
Enlighten me, hook me up with some links to these threads.
I looked through three pages of thread titles and didn't see anything that caught my eye.
This fight is complete garbage.
the UFC can produce some really interesting and exciting match ups, but it also has a tendency to recycle its fighters for as long as it can.
Did anyone see when Couture fought Coleman? Coleman is a ****en dinasour and Rogan had the audacity to say that he had never trained correct his entire career and finally did for this fight!!!!
Another example is when Hughes fought one of the Gracie brothers and Hughes carried him the entire fight.
This is just an excuse for White to have another PPV, the UFC seems to have one every other week.
Let the clouds settle. I just never liked malignaggi.
Ha! either do I.
Before the fight i told my buddy, "I hope Khan punishes Malinaggi."
Going into the 10th round i felt pretty horrible i said it!
I didn'nt like it, but it is a smart change in his part.
I'm just used to him coming forward and wrecking people, I guess that Ortiz stayed behind after the Maidana loss.
TBH Paulie deserved it, so yeah, enjoyed it immensely, thanks Smoger.
Smoger is known for giving fighters the benefit of the doubt, he will let the fight go for as long as he thinks a fighter has a chance. This is the only time i remember seeing him end a fight for a fighter taking too much punishment and not be practically out on his feet. Smoger is a great ref, and Malinaggi's trainer is an irresponsible shit head.
Considering the stupid comments that he makes when he is interviewed i hope he does stay quiet. I don't think he is ready for the big time, the fight against Harris didn't prove anything (except that Harris is only a fraction of what he used to be). I don't get a good feeling when i think of what is going to become of Ortiz.
I think he is overrated, he lost his luster after the Maidana debacle. He looked great before that though.
I really would like to say Berto since he defends his welterweight title against junior welterweights, but to his credit he did fight Callazo and Quintana.
What a sad turn of events :(
If I rememer right Bruno also went into a deep depression after boxing. Its hard for people to change their long lived lifestyle. Some boxers retire and realize that boxing provided more then a livelihood, it kept them grounded and sane.
He needs to keep busy and stay positive!
I remembe he was the douche bag that set next to Oscar De La Hoya's wife with a white "Jersey Shore" shirt during a ppv. He kept standing up and clapping, he was very distracting.
Been watching for like nearly 5 hours now.
Missed it all. It was the last fight I think.
I just got home :(
5 hours?! thats some serious boxing.
found a link, i'll at least get to see the last 3.
I chose Floyd vs JMM.
The fight was spoiled from the beginning, Floyd didn't even try to make weight.
I don't agree with comparing JMM to Duran. JMM had recently moved up to 135 and then moved up again to 142, he was completely untested at that weight.
The fight took over 30 minutes to start and only lasted three rounds, reason being that Harrison is terrible... talk about time you'll never get back :nonono:
I think Pacquiao is deffinitely challenging himself as he goes up in weight.
But i still don't like the fact that there is a catchweight, this is a title fight. Yes Pacquiao is challenging himself, but against opponents that are drained to begin with.
Floyd does the same ****, but unlike Pacquiao, he doesn't give the fans what they want; Epic fights, at least on paper.
just call the nearest champs near you, i'm sure they will be showing it.
The Champs at pentagon city showed pac vs clottey, but they had a 20 dollar cover!!!!!! I felt ripped off after Clottey's terrible performance.
I thought Pacquiao would win by UD.
But after watching the fight i think he could have knocked marg out if he had gone back to the body, and he could have definitely punished him in the 12th.

I agree, the klitchkos are good but the more time that passes the more Lewis looks like a monster. If anything when he made mistakes he paid dearly for them, but he always had the last word.
This introduction is taking entirely too long.
I agree, I like the elaborate productions the Germans put together but it felt like it went on waaaaay too long.
