My lord ppl. Marquez is not the first lightweight to move up from 135 to fight at 147 in fact he is far from the 1st. Duran UD his first opponent at welterweight and Shane Mosley KO'd his first opponent at welterweight.
Floyd came off a two year layoff to fight the #2 or #3 lb 4 lb fighter in the world, a man who arguably beat the current #1 fighter at least once. Floyd is too big for Marquez but not too big for Pacquiao?
Floyd-Marquez was a disgrace
Pac-Tony is a legit fight
gotta get over the worthless belt and focus on the fight
floyd didn't try to make weight for the fight manny didn't try to make weight for his fight it's the same thing
marquez is a great fighter margarito is a big fighter it's the same thing
marquez is a great fighter but most people didn't think he could win
margarito is bigger than pac but most people don't think he can win
floyd fought a great fighter in marquz and manny fights a big fighter in tony but since when has bein big made u a good fighter?
man floyd vs. jmm and it isnt really close. i mean margs stands no chance in hell of winning, but he is the bigger guy. jmm stood no chance in hell of winning but he was the smaller guy.
the only chance that floyd-jmm could've had a little bit of competitivenes was if floyd tried to weight drain himself for the catchweight limit. the moment he weighed-in at 146, that fight has a shameful mismatch written all over it. the fact that it made 1.2M ppv's still puzzles me up to now. i guess there's just too much nuthuggers in boxing.
I chose Floyd vs JMM.
The fight was spoiled from the beginning, Floyd didn't even try to make weight.
I don't agree with comparing JMM to Duran. JMM had recently moved up to 135 and then moved up again to 142, he was completely untested at that weight.

Pac fans have a fight to get ready for tomorrow...
and all they can think about is Floyd...
what does that say??
They're fairly confident about Pacquiao against Margarito.
Marquez didn't know the weight limit until the day of the weigh-in when instead of giving the alotted time to lose the weight, they re-did the contracted weight. Not to mention, Marquez already jumped an entire weight class for the fight, even though he looked worse moving from super featherweight to lightweight.
the hate for jmm vs floyd never made sense to me. everybody seems to forget when duran moved up from lightweight to welterweight to beat prime, young, and fresh sugar ray leonard. or perhaps shane mosley beating oscar delahoya from light weight to welterweight. in the old days they didnt have the in between belts really do any of these haters know boxing history?
But, bro think about it. Did they fought them in there first fight at WW?
How many fights at WW did Duran and Mosley before fighting Leonard and Oscar?
So how is that the same?
And, not for nothing but Duran and Mosley had a long resume at LW. They were career LW's. JMM was not, was a career FW. Granted Leonard was a career WW, Floyd was not. But, Oscar really wasn't either.
they are both really bad, but Floyd did have a long lay off and going over the limit wasn't cool. Pac is much smaller which is to be noted, but fighting for the vacant title just does it for me.. if he wins the 8th title is a real joke.
If anything, PACQUIAO is even handicapping himself by weighing in at 144 for the 147-154 Super Welterweight fight...
Whereas Floyd overweighted fighting a bloated 135er Marquez...
