i was reading this thread thinking we were talking about Desert Storm...then i read his notable wins and i thought wtf?? scrolled down and seen skeet skeet skeet...lol
Khan should beat Thurman at the end of this year..and then have a huge summer fight with kell Brook...beat him, become a unified a champion at Welterweight and then Fight Floyd Mayweather in a super fight.
If Kell Brook's next fight is Van Heerden or Bundu..i will lose a lot of respect for him as will alot of boxing fans. That will be three walk over fights in a row and as a champion he needs to start getting involved in 50/50 fights like Bradley, Maidana, Thurman etc. He isn't getting any younger and Eddie hearn needs to pull his finger out and promote the biggest star on his roster.
Since the Groves Froch II fight, Eddie Hean has gone down hill. He had huge momentum after staging the most popular fight in British history and he's not done anything since then. Weak cards, putting fights like Bellew Cleverly, Brook v Gavin as PPV events. He's losing the plot recently. Not securing Khan for Brook or any other elite welterweight for that matter, Not securing Groves for DeGale, Frampton for Quigg. Those fights were not secured due to Hearn always running his big mouth in the media and disrespecting fighters who end up saying "**** him".
It's an incredibly entertaining fight that the fans and the networks will love to have. The whole world would pay and watch a Khan vs Provodnikov fight. However as a Khan fan, i feel he should be fighting top 5 elite Welterweights at this stage of his career. Khan should fight Manny Pac, Thurman or Garcia. I know Angel Garcia has said he will never take the Khan rematch and manny is with Arum but why can't the Thurman fight be made?
I don't think he's being hyped. It's only the people who have a distinct hatred for Khan who hype Brook up to superstar status. Only british boxing fans and the Hardcore boxing fans know who Brook is, i wouldn't say he's hyped. He's only getting recognition because Khan has moved in to his weight division and the public want to see them fight.
Chaves isn't the big name we would have hoped for. Still #8 welterweight in the world making Brook the only fighter other than Mayweather who has wins over two current top 10 welterweights.
And it's not on the Klitschko-Fury undercard you muppet.
Now now...no need to get annoyed by the truth. Brook and Chavez is just part of the program where Tyson Fury and Wladmir are the main event and on at the end of the Sky Broadcast. Brook is the main event in Sheffield i'll give you that but he is on the undercard part of the Fury vs Wladmir event.
http://www.skysports.com/boxing/news/12183/9978802/wladimir-klitschko-v-tyson-fury-and-kell-brook-v-diego-chaves-on-sky-sports-box-office-on-october-24
Hearn has already said a Mosley fight is never going to happen.
Yeah and he also said Brook was going to fight an elite welterweight in a huge fight after his two mandatory defenses against Jo Jo Dan and Frankie Gavin. Instead we get Diego Chaves on the under-card of Fury-Wladmir
Man...The Punisher was one of my favourite boxers back then. He was so awkward for his opponents. He was really tall and gangly and used to hit fighters from different angles. I'll always remember that unorthodox uppercut he hit Winky Wright with...honestly you have to see the shot, it's crazy. Was going to fight Canelo before his accident..so sad his career was cut short, he was one of the good guys.
I wouldn't be happy with this fight...it will be entertaining that's for sure but it doesn't do anything for Khan's career, unless a world title is on the line. It will prove the doubters wrong about Khan not facing a puncher though, that's for sure.
It's a high risk low reward fight for Khan so he didn't fight him, what if he gets KO:ed by a guy with a 2-51 record?
You are right...this guy seems more like a Brook type of opponent. The caliber he has been fighting for his whole career.
Laced up and others can try and justify the Chaves fight all they want. The truth is there is no way to justify it after he fought Jo Jo Dan and Frankie Fun Time Gavin. Diego Chaves is the kind of opponent he should of been fighting when he fought Jo Jo Dan. Khan fighting Algeri was a joke and completely bull****, as a khan fan myself i can admit he should of fought a top welterweight, although Algeri is still a better opponent than 99% of Brook's resume.
Brook is going to fight limited opponent after limited opponent because the IBF, who are a joke organisation and have the most diabolical ratings in welterweight, are going to provide the weak and absolutely absurd fighters for Brook to defend against in Sheffield. It's a farce to be honest.
Brook's resume is absolute garbage and worthy of no praise. He's never lost because he's fought nothing but poor opposition and he only took one risk in his whole career in the Porter fight which he just nicked. I can honestly see Eddie Hearn hyping up a Brook vs Moseley fight, arranging sky sports to show a highlight reel of Mosley in the early 2000's trying to make people forget the fact that Sugar Shane is now a 40 year old punch drunk man.
Chaves isn't the big name we would have hoped for. Still #8 welterweight in the world making Brook the only fighter other than Mayweather who has wins over two current top 10 welterweights.
.
According to what source is Diego Chaves a top 8 welterweight? On boxing rec is he 10th. Where is he number 8?
Khan's beaten Maidana and Devon who was in the top 10 welterweights when Khan fought and defeated him.
lol @ This thread...Dirk you have some serious obsessive compulsive disorder over Khan.
Amir Khan has definitely been lead on by Mayweather that's true but Amir Khan is 28 years old and worth 30 million, How much of a mug is he really? Doesn't seem to have done too bad in his career to be honest.
Brook vs Peterson would be a good fight. Peterson is a skilled opponent and would be a decent name on Brooks resume if he can get the win. Make it happen Hearn.
Whyte needs to sort his phyqiue out, looking really flabby. He got a 1st round KO but that wasn't a test. Jonathan Banks will teach him a few things but i just can't see him beating Anthony Joshua.
Hoping Tommy Coyle knocks Campbell spark out!
This is what fans, pundits and the boxing writers need to understand...Boxers are gladiators who risk their lives to put food on the table for their kids...criticism is one thing but mocking boxers is pretty low...that's just my opinion.
Kell Brook is being protected by Eddie Hearn until they get the Khan fight...even the biggest khan hater, the people who hate khan so much that they will never catch a taxi or eat curry again, Yes, even they can see how obvious it is.
