I use to think this would be an easy fight for Floyd but he's slowing aged right in front of us and I don't think he has the punch output or the reflexes he use to. Manny doesn't either but I think he will still stay busy enough to get the decision even if mayweather lands the cleaner shots.
Mannys been in way more wars but mayweather is older by 3 years. None of them are knocking each other out, that's pretty much a given. If it does go to a decision manny still has arum on his side. I think this is gonna be floyds toughest challenge.
He has to beat manny, thearum and Father Time. Just don't know if he can pull it off at this stage.
Mayweather's prime ended with Marquez, a fight in which he could move instinctively and turn his left hook over a lot better. As for his physical prime, that ended at 140.
This right here
Khan has even a less of a chance than manny did against Floyd. The way he controlled mannys output was masterful.
The only true test to Floyd would be ggg.
No I'm not. Greatest defensive fighter of all time, undefeated and never officially knocked down and hardly ever even hurt. Beat most of the greats of his era around his weight classes. A champ in 5 different weight classes. Top 5 greatest skilled fighter, possibly the best. The only thing missing is a couple more, in their prime atgs on his resume.
Just cuz he's not a good person outside of the ring doesn't mean he doesn't belong among the best inside the ring.
Kimbo Slice, Ray Mercer, What’s that wrestler?
Twas Brock Lesnar. Lesnar btw has no clue how to fight. I remember laughing my ass off at his reactions to punches being thrown at him.
It’s like this. The human body likes to specialize, you can’t morph it to opposing directions. Example, grappling builds different type of muscle than what’s best for a great punch for instance, they go against each other. In that way an MMA fighter will find it very hard to ever be as good as the boxer’s with their hands, or the muay thai guy with his kicks. MMA are master’s of nothing, although they do often have specialists, like Mcgregor for example, it requires taking away from the rest of the game and like we’ve seen will still find it difficult to compete with the hands of an elite boxers.
The nerds on here don’t seem to realize that the majority of boxer’s were big time street fighters, Pacquiao was fighting in the streets every day, Duran boasts how he’s got about 60 street fights and never lost one, Roy Jones used to seek out bullies to fight, Golovkin tough looking citizens. Trust me when I tell you, 9 times out of ten the boxer will beat the sht out of the MMA guy in the streets where neither knows the other’s distinctive qualities. Very few guy’s start a fight with a takedown, especially when there are a lot of potential opponents to jump in.
Not true at all my guy. 9 out of 10 street fights end on the ground. Even Standing up the mma guy would just leg kick the **** out of the boxer If he was getting the better of him on the feet. MMA wasn’t really a thing when Duran was street fighting so of course he ran thru everyone.
If you never been leg kicked then don’t talk **** about it not being effective. Only takes one or 2 good leg kicks to completely take away your punching power. Trained both mma and boxing.
I used to be one of those people believing that boxing was ill I needed in a fight but that’s far from the truth.
The big elite boxers like Ward Kovalez should be all over Connor, that blowhard couldn't push around a little light puncher like Floyd, our big boxers where Connor is the little guy murder him.
Not in mma troll
Wrong. Mcgregor takes him down and strangles him in less than a round. I know he use to grapple somewhat but it's a different sport. It wouldn't last long.
He has literally 0% chance. Not even a punchers chance. I know white belts who would smash Floyd in MMa. Unless you trained you wouldn't understand. Conor is a brown belt which is pretty high level. Even if it was a stand up fight only Conor would kick his head off.
Kovalev is bigger but Conor is the best cage fighter in the world. Kovalev has no experience at cage fighting. It's not his way of fighting. Kovalev has to land a KO punch early or he loses. Conor knows this and would be careful to avoid getting tagged early. Conor wins.
Go train for a day then come back and be humbled. Don't go full potato. I like kov but it would take him at least 2 or 3 years for him to be competitive. Even then woodleys the champ at that weight and would absolutely maul Kov. No chance at all. In boxing he literally kills him tho
I think he'd beat Pac in his prime, maybe have a shot against Chavez. But he'd lose to Hearns and Mayweather pretty decisively i think
He beats them all IMHO. A prime, hungry Oscar was a beast.
Beats mayweather by close desicion
Ko's PAC man
Beats Chavez by lop sided decision
Beats hearns in an absolute war.
Floyd would beat all of them IMO.
I use to think that hearns, PAC, and Oscar would ko Floyd but he's just to smart for any of them. He would do what ever it takes to win.
Sweet pea would be his toughest fight but Floyd would take a descion no doubt.
I think cotto did the best offensively against mayweather but Canelo to me had the best showing. Floyd didnt hurt Canelo once and you could tell it was just lots of inexperience on canelos part.
Not trying to take away from cottos performance but it looked like Floyd was rusty in the fight. Floyd didnt look sharp in that fight like he did in the Canelo or Guerrero fight.
